Hey Devlin - Are the practice files still available? All the links I click take me to your site, which asks for my email and then takes me to a landing page, but I can't find any downloadable assets. Thanks for sharing your expertise with this software!
This series has been so helpful as a brand new aspiring Instructional Designer! Thank you so much. I love the little challenges you put in there too! So fun!
Amazing! I am new to ID and Articulate but have been using PowerPoint for years to create interactions in the classroom and for training. Thank you so much for providing course material to follow along. This was very engaging and just the right amount of challenge. Can't wait to start on the next one.
Love it! Do you have a video or can you make one for a little bit more advanced Storyline 360 users? Tips & tricks with audio narrations, complex triggers, Advanced interactive activities, GIFs, video, which other tools can be integrated with Storyline, etc.
Great suggestion, Kenny! Yes, that's the goal with the Storyline playlist eventually. Just trying to get these foundational tutorials in place so that people who aren't as experienced can reference these videos if / as needed :D.
What is the difference between trigger and state? Because around 11:30 you list common triggers and they look like the same as the common states. Is trigger the action to get to the state? Also in the states video you say you don't like built in states. But with a custom state and you say "Make this thing into hover state" in a custom trigger, how is that different than just using the hover state built in, it seems like an extra unnecessary step ti me?
For shape animator, I turned off the fly out animation completely, then set a trigger to move the Square along a Line Motion Path (straight line to the right off the slide) when the user clicks Square 🤣 it got the same result but not the same method
Devlin, I have a slide with triggers that will play media files based on the selected data entry field (simulating a screen reader). It works great for someone using a mouse but I can't figure out how to set up the parallel triggers for keyboard users since there's no "when object gains focus" event. Any suggestions?
I spent like 4 hours trying to do figure out triangle, circle, square only to realize that it needs to be set to a button set. GAH! But here is the question. What is the wisdom behind you making the state of the rectangle into normal, circle, triangle vs. making it into LAYERS. When they click on Triangle, the slide layer is triangle layer? Would appreciate your wisdom!
I'm no expert just thinking out loud. :) additional slide layers increases your end result file size. Also using states on the slide gives you more capabilities to allow user interaction and would save you design time. Vs building new slides.

Is it possible to create a trigger to go from one layer in a scene to a different layer in another scene?
Why are my triggers not working when i publish and save on my computer and upload to Google docs ?
