Absolutely a great build! Eddie was THE guy, in the early 80's, who inspired me to rip guitars apart, and make them my own. 40 years later, I am scalloping guitar necks, potting pickups in wax. Fret jobs, all that was inspired by Eddie. I don't think any of the big name players at the time had any idea about any of that.

Great job on the Frankie, Jay! I like how you made it "yours". A lot of guys want to get as close to the exact replica as possible and they really go all out. I'm so glad you found Sean at Pariah - by far the best choice for this build! I have many of his pickups in my guitars. Keep up the great content man! Peace

Great build. I love it! Tip for installing machine heads. Put them all in but just loose enough so they can move. Then, take a metal straight edge and push against the underside of the bodies. It will line them all perfectly. Hand tighten, then use an awl to mark your drill holes. Comes out perfect every time!

Thanks so much for the tip dude! I appreciate it. That is something I need to start doing. Usually I’m installing Hipshot tuners with the rail which makes it a breeze and alignment straight forward. Have an awesome day!

Chris Locke of Locke Custom Guitars is one of the Best at EVH Bodies and Necks, although he doesnt paint or relic them, precise routes and some of the most amazing Necks I ever saw or Owned, his fretwork is out of the box the Best of anyone, and he does Kramer, Fender version so you can build one or all of EVH Guitars. His 78 Neck is so Amazing I know use it on every Strat build I do, and he is affordable, but because he is highly regarded and sought out Builder, he has about a 7-8 lead in time before he can start any New Build on a first ordered first served basis. So if the Best is what you desire , go check out Locke Custom Guitars, you will be glad you did

    Dang it Jay!
    You wicked wicked man!
You just caused me to get a knock off Frankenstein guitar I just found on eBay
It's a complete guitar lacking a locking trem but looks very convincing as for paint, correct year quarter, reflectors, modded cut cover plate, selector switch in the middle pickup cavity, eye hooks and more
I don't know what the wood is but the neck looks to be maple and I might be able to shape the headstock via jig or coping saw or just get a different neck but for $275 for the complete guitar I'll take my chances
I live in Georgia and the seller is just down the road in Florida so no international ship risk
I'm So Stoked to begin this project all because I watched your sick video here!
As I work as a full-time guitar repair tech at GC with a slew of projects under my belt (mostly my own personal guitars) I feel hopeful I'm on the right track!
You Sir are a bad man! Lol not to mention my favorite YT host for sure
    Your Franky is just Glorious!
    I have to have one!
AWESOME GUY! VIDEO! & YT CHANNEL

Hey Jay!! Good to see you my fellow Lynch fan. Is there anyway you could post the link for that solderless push pull pot? I have a kamikaze 4 and I've taken the single coil out of the circle because of problems I always end up with when using push pull pots, I want to put it back on so I think this solderless version might be the answer. Hopefully they have a 500k linear taper version. I can't stand audio taper. Thanks Jay! Have a merry christmas!!! It is in fact Christmas today... lol

@@jayguitar and remember how I asked you a while back what happened to the videos you posted about those handful of inspirational books you liked? I remember you said something about going to your website or messaging you on there about it or something?
And do you customize guitars for random ppl out there in the world? Obviously I love the work you've done and I have a guitar or 2 that I'd be interested to see how you could potentially customize.
All that being said please keep up your videos. I've been watching you for a few years now and you are hands down one of my favorite channels. • @jayguitar
      @jayguitar  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Hey dude, yes I think so as they were just seconds or something like that. Interesting fact - when you do the inflation calculation, in todays money the body would be $225ish and the neck about $385 in todays money! Crazy right?! Such an iconic and awesome guitar that EVH built! I love my Frankie guitar 😊 Rock on and have an awesome day!

Hey Tarynn, I had some ESP LTD tuners that I had taken off some other guitar which I used as they were in my parts drawer. Kinda just went with the ethos that Eddie probably just used whatever he could get his hands on. Hope that helps. Have an awesome day.
