One of the best moments in sporting history. I vividly remember staying awake into the early hours to see Murray win his first major. I still feel immense pleasure to think he proved all the people who said he'd never win majors wrong. Now they say he's finished and he'll never challenge for major titles again. Well, whether he does or not, Murray is still the best male tennis player the UK has ever had and we should be proud of what he's achieved.

Still remember that day (or evening here) well. Was working 'till 7pm at Stirling Uni, decided the pubs back home in Dunblane would be packed, so popped into Stirling to watch it. The match was still on at the back of midnight, when the last train to Dunblane ran, so had to head back there. When I got back, decided to try the Dunblane Hotel, not expecting to get in, but managed to squeeze in, just in time to see the last few games and Murray clinch the match. Thankfully it was my day off from my postie job the next day, but the day after that, people kept telling me they saw me on the news (the cameras were in the pub), but can't say I've spotted myself in any footage. Years ago was up at a Dundee United vs Hibernian match (supporting the latter) and we were talking to his uncle at the match. He had his two wee nephews with him. Little did we know at the time!

Well I was really fortunate enough to be present at both of their US Open meetings. But i think the 2014 US Open quarterfinals between Murray and Djokovic was a bit more better to watch as far as quality is concerned with the Serb winning in 4 sets. It was the actual start of Djokovic's dominance over Murray from that 2014 season particularly in the Majors or best of 5 sets play (0-5 to Djokovic since Wimbledon 2013). Murray completely lost the ground to Djokovic on their match ups and has never been able to recover.

In 2015, they played some very competitive matches at the Aussie Open and French Open, but Djokovic was just too good. Anyone else think that the commentary was strange. I felt like they said some pretty harsh things. Sometimes a little biased towards Djokovic maybe. Like after Djokovic hit a bad shot in the first set tiebreaker the commentators just talked about how Djokovic would "smile" to relieve the pressure then Murray would hit a bad shot and they would say something like what was he thinking, he just pushed that ball. Also the point at 8-7 in the first set tiebreaker was hilarious. Djokovic was falling over almost every shot which is so strange (probably because of the wind)
