That was no ordinary training day. Jake still survived. Alonzo didn't. Jake's the new leader of the unit now.
You know this film already success, when you see snoop terry denzel and lalo in one film

Awesome Recap! Ironically, its the story of the snail, that wads foreshadowed when he meet Roger
@:39 that scene is classic to me. Quality cafe is written on both windows. You have two officers but only one is having breakfast. Breakfast is written above Quality Cafe on only one window. Then when the scene plays you clearly see Alonzo is higher ranking and more experienced. I don't believe those windows are coincidence.
There's a saying that goes : "Live by the Gun, Die by the Gun"!

3:30 They spent the night at Alonzo’s house? I thought Jake just took a nap. Wouldn’t his wife be worried? Plus the movie is called Training Day.
Good point, you're probably right. I would've thought that the wife was worried, but knowing Alonzo, I don't think anyone would try anything.
He didn't spend the night. When they left to see the wise men, it was later in the afternoon lol

If jake didn't save smiley cousin Alonzo plan would have worked and jake would be dead that was the kink in alonzo plan
Alonzo was pissed off because Jake went out of his way to save Letty. Smiley would be even more pissed off if he ever found out Alonzo was there and did nothing.
My question, why did Alonzo leave Jake with the gang members?, did Alonzo want them to kill Jake so Jake wouldn’t tell??
