One of viewers just brought to my attention a mistake that I made in my video. On round 1, it should be a total of 9 double crochet stitches with a chain space in between each. With 9 double crochets you end up with 9 points, and in the video I mistakenly missed a step and said 8. Now this brings up a point (no pun intended, lol) that you can in fact change the number of points in this manner. Nothing wrong with 8 points or any other arbitrary number, and the choice is of course yours to make. I just want to stress that I am sorry for any miscommunication, that to err is human, and that I will try even harder in the future to be the best that I can be for all of you, my yarnivores. Thank you! 🙂
Fiber Spider what a beautiful way to acknowledge a mistake! That's why your fan base is growing.🌹 I am trying your star stitch shawl and I keep making mistakes usually I don't. I'm gonna try it again.❤️🌹❣️
I love your tutorial. I felt like I was being taught by my favourite aunt. I could imagine myself sitting in a cosy room with you drinking tea out if china cups and eating homemade cake while learning to crochet this very pretty blanket. A very asmr experience 🌻💕
Once again I came to the master of tutorials, and once again you proved what a great teacher you are,so my hat is off to you,you get a gold star!!! Thank-you!!!
You are my favorite. I’m visually impaired. I don’t have to SEE what you’re doing. Your instructions are so thorough, that I simply listen. Made many many projects from you. Thank you.
Just started my 5th one of these blankets - which I always do as an 8 pointer, not the 9. I know it was a mistake the first time, but I love the way it looks - and I love hearing your voice - so patient and kind. Thank you for another great tutorial.
You have to be the easiest teacher to follow. I am an intermediate crocher. I also have Multiple Sclerosis which makes holding instructions in my head as I work very difficult. You made it easy to follow. Thanks. I tried this pattern with another tutor on You Tube and just could not get what she was telling me to do. Never being one who quits I looked for a better teacher. Success! After this....the Virus Blanket!!! God bless you, dear Fiber Spider. From your new student. 🎓💝
Aww your did great in the video am not upset with you it's got be alot on your mind when you do these videos I really like your videos also your so good at explaining things and I really like that alot about you seem such a kind man to do this for us am so excited 😊 that guys are getting into bc it was just not all about grandma doing it . Thank you for making this beautiful 9 point star ⭐ so beautiful 😍 good job 👍☺️ on it . God bless 🙏 jodie
This star blanket was the only one i have ever attempted. I have seen other patterns now but I'm back here several years later to do another 9 point star blanket for a coworker's new baby.
I make this as my go too baby blanket I make to give to friends as a baby gift. I love your patterns! And you have a wonderful melodic voice. Very easy to go by and hear
I greatly appreciate your calmness. I know within seconds if I can handle a CAL due to the person's energy, and yours is great for my sensory issues. Thank you!
I absolutely LOVE you and your tutorials. I tried a 12 pointed star so many times. The first two patterns I tried made absolutely no sense. The third had a solid center, dc and sc. I pulled out an entire skein of yarn TWICE because it was concave and then one side would lay flat and the other would. Your patterns never let me down. This is so easy! Thank you!!!
I've been working on a 6-pointed star and have torn it out/frogged it several times ( :. I get to the fourth row and start messing up! I have no confidence left!?!
So thankful to have found your channel. My aunt first sent me your which way filet and I was hooked. I make and donate blankets and graduation caps to my NICU and this pattern, specifically, I use in the summer and it is the moms favorite. So thank you for being amazing and making amazing content and patterns!
I made your other 9 point baby blanket last year for my first Great-granddaughter now I"m making this one for my niece's first baby. Thank you for your tutorials I've made a lot your projects.
This is the second time I've ever crocheted. The first was a baby blanket four years ago. It was very simple. So, I looked and found this one! Just by watching your tutorial I understand. You are such a great teacher. Especially if I can learn! Thank You sooooo much!
Just started working on this last night. I am making this for preemie babies at the moment. It's a beautiful pattern. and thank you for sharing it with us.
I love you Fribre Spider, ur patterns and tutorials are always easy to understand...i bow down to u Spider master 😂😂😂😂😂🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 much love from Canada ❤❤
My project list is growing just like this blanket. I love making blankets. I have a wedding blanket to make. My brother and his wife are huge Dallas Stars fans. I am going to use this pattern in the team colors. They will love it! Thank you for sharing.
I love this blanket its my go to for a baby blanket and i come back to this tutorial for the first 4 rows every time (can never remember the start) i always make it a 9 point star Such a calming voice and easy to follow makes a lovely blanket must have made about 20 star blankets now everybody loves them❤
I want to thank you soo soo much fiber spider. I had one heck of a time deciding on a baby blanket, and I found your beautiful pattern and I already had the yarn. Sometimes I get very picky in what projects I pick, and this is perfect! Thank you, thank you. I'm so grateful
You explain very nicely! I struggled with this pattern still, but you made it make sense! Thank you! I use a lot of stitch markers so I could see each round where to skip, that helped me too.
This closely resembles a blanket I made some time ago for my niece, got a kit from Mary Maxim, beautiful pattern, was unable to find it, So thank Fiber for offering it and making it available at your channel.
loved this tutorial, made it so easy to complete. I tried a few other tutorials before finding this one, they were very difficult to follow. this one is amazing. very helpful.
love love love this pattern!@ this is my second throw, and I go back to your pattern just to get started.......thanks so much for your detailed tutorial and patient manor!
Thank you for this tutorial and all of your efforts!! I enjoy your calm, clear and specific instructions. I have made three of these blankets since learning from your video: 1 baby blanket and 2 larger blankets. I used three different Caron CAKES colorways for my projects. I decided to maintain the eight pointed star for each. I like even numbers -- and it facilitates easy, symmetrical folding. ;) Thank you again. I look forward to future projects from you!
I've done this pattern with you twice, then this time I just searched 8 point star didn't see so I started one with someone else and i got so confused. Then I remembered it was posted as 9 point so then I found you. I think the difference is they the center different. I'm used to yours because it starts out like my coaster pattern, Plus you call them shells, much easier to remember. dc, shell, dc, skip 2 repeat. Thank you for making it easier .. I'm writing it down in case video ever gets taken down.
Thank you! I used this pattern as my base and am adding my own little flare to it, so excited to see how it turns out! My friend just had a baby and I realized I need something quick to crochet in 1 week! I remembered I started a red amigurumi deer a long time ago and never finished but I have the head shape made, just needs ears and eyes. So I decided I will use the head and finish it up and make a lovey!! Since the head is red and white I wanted to use both colors in the blanket but I didn't want something with just plain stripes. So I found your star blanket and it will be so perfect! I'll do it in red but then every 5th row I'll do in white and where you have the regular double crochets (not the shells, but the ones that go in the other DC stitches) I'll do the middle one as a puff stitch. So if I started with the shell on the 5th row it would be 2dc ch2 2dc in same stitch, DC, puff stitch, DC, repeat... I thought this would help give the illusion of spots like you see on a fawn (: I'm doing my test piece with random spare yarn but it seems to be working so far! Hopefully it turns out how I imagine. Also I hope I can finish the head! I stopped that project years ago when I realized how much I hate sewing on parts.
I’m starting this now as a baby blanket, shower gift. I’m looking forward to finishing this new to me pattern. Thanks for your excellent directions. I, too , love a repetitive pattern so I can listen to something else and not over think the pattern.
I love this! I plan to make one for my grandson using red, white and blue yarns because one of his favorite superheroes is Captain America. The Ice Cream yarn is so pretty! I need to get some of that! Thanks FS! Blessings all!!!!! 💜💜
Thank you for this. Got the hang of this and steaming ahead. Really pleased with the way it’s coming along. Your tutorials are always helpful and patient.
So excited to start this star !! Ive looked for this pattern and gave up!! But here it is and I'm all over it! Thanks so very much and your tutorials make it so clear !! My Grandson (two weeks old today ) is going to be the first recipient of this blanket!! Love you!!
I really liked it and planned to make one for my new grand daughter just born 12,24,2018 in shades of pink and white. This was the first pattern I learned when I first learned to crochet when I was 10 years old. The difference was it was straight and not in a circle. Because I’m left handed I learned by watching others crotchet . Everyone was right handed and didn’t know how to teach me. A lady taught me to make a baby 3 pc baby set ( booties ,hat, jacket ) . I didn’t know names of stitches just watched her did what she did, remembered. Wrote numbers of rows for certain things places. I kept making stuff over and over. That was 50 years ago. Your video is really great ! One suggestion that I know would help me and maybe a great help to others. Have a printed list of the directions that a person can copy . Then it would be easier to follow you. A plus it would help in the future to double check any mistakes on the video. My problem is trying to write and keep up with the video, yes I stop it plus do the captions. I look forward to seeing more of your great stuff!
I just love this pattern (I prefer 8 points) I've made several star blankets using this pattern - thanks for such a great go-to! I love "zenning out" while working on this!
Très heureuse de faire ce projet magnifique en même temps que vous Fiber. Un gros merci de vos claires explications ainsi que le ton reposant de votre voix 👍
OMG, I'm not going crazy. . I have 8 points not 9. I got to row 6 and frogged it and started over with the video. I followed exactly and still came up with 8 points. . Thanks for telling us there was an error in the video. .. phew 8 still looks good. .. LOL thanks for the great videos and taking your time with us
Bless you. I kept looking at it thinking I've got 8 points here not 9. Hey, no harm done. At least it's easy to frog and crochet is so forgiving. Great tutorial thank you
I get it!!! This repeated pattern makes sense to me! I can see myself getting lost in prayer once I get some rounds going. Thank you so very much for your clear explanation, I'm very visual and I appreciate you taking the time to point out some specifics. I will post a pic of my wip. ❤️
Loving this tutorial. Started on the 9 peaks today and am so pleased at how quickly it is growing. Will do the one with 8 peaks next time. Thanks so much.
Love your videos. I am not a very experienced hooker, but I am going to give this one a try. You do make things look easy. Thanks for your time and devotion.
Starting this tonight. Using Red heart yarn cool stripe for a baby blanket. Love how you make it so easy to follow your videos. I have used 3 of your patterns so far and I love them.
8 or 9 points. I don't care. I still love love love your videos. Keep them coming. I'm making a few of your projects. If I ever get thru with one of them I will post a pic. I don't get one project finished before I see another video you did and I just have to start it. Ty again.
I hope it helps me @lyndastray! I need some help! I've never made a blanket before. If I can't do it baby size, what chance do I have with an adult one?
Thank you for your tutorial on the 8 point blanket. I'm more of a knitter then a crocher all my blankets are either round or Granny squared. Once again THANK YOU.
💜💙💚💛❤️ so beautifully explained... I followed along until u let me lose and I never stopped. I'm going along using loops and threads. Love all your work but I only choose a few to save to do later on...I knit and crochet for a church group and they love the new ideas I bring to them.thank u soooo muuucch .
I love this pattern. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Very easy to follow but I do have one small suggestion that made this even easier for me to get the pattern. When doing the shell or cluster, I had to make sure that I caught the first dc stitch after the last dc in the shell cluster. This meant that I needed to “scoot over” (if you will) the dc stitch in the shell so that I could in fact see that very next stitch. The first time I did this pattern I had to frog several rows because I was missing that stitch. I don’t know if this makes any sense but I’m not sure how else to describe it. But that said, once I figured out that part of it, it was a piece of cake and I loved it!!
Hello FiberSpider. I'm a beginner at crocheting i've been watching your video on the 9 point blanket i love it your a lovely teacher please do more thank you.x
Thank you. thank you. I love this pattern and your gentle instructions. Thank you, too, for correcting the stitch pattern, although I opted to persevere working the 8 points. I like it. Thanks again for your efforts!!
Your work and presentation of it is absolutely the best, Thank You!! I am trying to repeat this blanket but I would love to have a Star of David instead of those stars. Could You provide a guidenance, PLEASE! Also with the year of Tiger coming up, could You try to combine the blanket with the tiger applique? Thank YOU for Your attention, looking forward to hearing from You

When it comes to learning you are the greatest. I love your calming fashion and your patience with us beginners.
I thought i missed smthg when i ended up w 8 pts.....lol....glad you cleared that up......

This by far the easiest search blanket. Mindless crocheting. ❤
You explain very nicely! I struggled with this pattern still, but you made it make sense! Thank you! I use a lot of stitch markers so I could see each round where to skip, that helped me too.

Excellent tutorial! You are very easy to follow and I appreciate the time you take explaining the stitches. Thank you so much!
Love the instructions and so very clear voice! Tyvm❤️ I made an 8 pointed star!☺️
I really need to read the comments before I started mine only has 8 points, but I like it anyway. Thanks again for an easy tutorial.
Excellent video. Your artistic flare is unique and inspiring. The most difficult stitches you present are easy to follow
Your instruction is so easy and simple to follow, thank you...My new Grandbaby will have a beautiful blanket when I'm done.
Thank you! I used this pattern as my base and am adding my own little flare to it, so excited to see how it turns out! Ohhh Sakes, I love you and your instructions. You crack me up and appreciate your expertise.
On my second blanket using this pattern. I will never not need to listen to this tutorial though. So amazing.
Thanks, you are really calm and patient to teach for the people like me ☺️🥰
Making this into a child's blanket with 9 points in Caron Cakes Pistachio - loving it! Thanks as always Spidey!
I’m starting this now as a baby blanket, shower gift. I’m looking forward to finishing this new to me pattern. Thanks for your excellent directions. I, too , love a repetitive pattern so I can listen to something else and not over think the pattern.
I finished and sent you a pic in Facebook messenger. Hopefully you get to see it.

Thank you,I admire your talent, and you're very good with explaining your projects.
I am really enjoying your tutorials. Easy to follow, soothing voice, freat stuff. Thank you :)
Just got this yarn and am going to make this for my coworker who just had a baby girl. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
I watched a few tutorials on this pattern . I was confused, but you absolutely nailed it . Thank you so much .
Très heureuse de faire ce projet magnifique en même temps que vous Fiber.

What a great pattern! I like this so much that it’s my next project, a baby blanket for a friend’s grandson.
Soooo happy to see you bak on Facebook. I love your tutorials and following you . Thanks soooo much . ❤😊
Thank you for this tutorial I’m doing an 8 pointer and it looks good, and you’ve made it so easy.
Once again thanks you from Australia
Love your videos. I am not a very experienced hooker, but I am going to give this one a try. You do make things look easy. Thanks for your time and devotion.
This is a lovely pattern 😊 being left handed i could follow it easily. Have started to make it and its going well. Thank you 😉😆
Starting this tonight.
Ty again.
Sherri Best I agree with you!!! This pattern is so pretty whether 8 points, 9 points, 12 points or whatever number works for you!!!
Thanks!
Finally after following your tutorial I have mastered this blanket (sisters Christmas present sorted)
I hope it helps me @lyndastray! I need some help! I've never made a blanket before. If I can't do it baby size, what chance do I have with an adult one?
Love this pattern, my favorite so far. I always love your tutorials.
Tried and tried this pattern then watched this video and well no stopping me the best ever thank you so much xx
I absolutely love the blueberry colorway 🤗
Making this for my grand baby girl right now...thank you for another great video 👍!! She’s due in May but baby shower is in about a month!
This video was great. You went slow enough that I could follow along and also write down the steps.
