This looks great! This is by far the best expression of the new Cadillac EV design language. It doesn't look like an awkward hearse, more like a Rolls Boat Tail.
OHHHHHHH MY GAWD! The Elmiraj was perhaps the most gorgeous Cadillac concept car I've ever seen, until now. While I still think that the Elmiraj's exterior was a bit more handsome, the Sollei concept has beautiful lines and proportions. The Sollei's interior really blows me away, with it's stunning wood trim and elegant shapes overall. The exterior and interior colors on this Sollei concept are PERFECT for a convertible!
This thing is gorgeous. Most beautiful Cadillac in many decades. And hey Cadillac, give us that yellow in some of your other models. It’s nice to see something other than gray, black or white.
I was able to see the pink hue in the glass covering of the fridge inbetween the rear seat passengers. Alex, were you able to see any pink hue inside of the yellow leather in person because the camera wasn’t picking any of it up? I think this is absolutely gorgeous and what Rolls Royce should be doing with the Spectre and new gasoline powered Wraith. This looks more elegant than what Mercedes is doing with the S680 Convertible interior. I’d have to say Alex, this only looks “production ready” for a Cadillac. It certainly looks like a concept vehicle for any other automaker. It looks like something out of 2035! Absolutely gorgeous, looks like Cadillac will have another fine piece of jewelry traveling down roads.
Whether it actually rolls or is just a static model that is the most beautiful car I've seen in decades. Love the classic colors of the exterior and the interior looks amazing!
It is thrilling to see a return to many more colors available on luxury cars. Yellow might not be my favorite interior color, but I applaud Cadillac for using it instead of the usual tan, gray or black. Because the origin of the name Cadillac is French and there have been references to French in several series names in the past (e.g. Calais, De Ville), I wonder why they have failed to continue that with these new names. The Celestiq should be pronounced in a French manner (i.e. Celesteek), and the Sollei should be spelled as Soleil (French for Sun).
@@simmons3k being American has nothing to do with pretending other great countries don’t exist. The English language itself isn’t very “American”, because it didn’t originate in America nor was it created by Americans.
The Celestiq is hideous imo. But this concept is so freakin’ beautiful, inside and out. I love everything about it. The wood patterns, the material patterns, the body lines, the color of the interior and exterior…it’s all gorgeous. I can’t imagine the starting price of this, considering where the Celestiq starts. But I would love to see one of these on the road someday.
I have owned 9 Cadillacs from the 1950 model to the 1990 4100. So, long time Caddy owner. I like it. Priced way out of my league, but a very beautiful car. It really “pops”. The color of the interior with the matching wood grain helps. Build it, GM. And hat tip to the design team.
I have been looking for a 4 door convertible for the family. An electric one is a cherry on top. If they came in a hard top I would reserve one today! Electric cars are already heavy so might as well add the hard top. 🙌🏿
Looks like adults can sit in the back and the front looks comfy. Not sure about the yellow but it does look like a vehicle I can't afford but would like too.
Ten times better looking than the Celestiq. A truly modern interpretation of Cadillac’s golden years. I’m loving the color, inside and out. The color-matched stalks are gorgeous. Cadillac is crazy not to offer this as another high-priced custom build the same as Celestiq. Ideally, they’d go one step further and use the Lyric as a starting point for a much smaller convertible compared to this one. Make a hardtop convertible priced at $80k and they would have a huge hit.
It’s a beautiful car, with some very nice touches and attention to design and detail. That aspect reminds me of Cadillacs of old. My mother had a 1977 Seville, that was yellow with a yellow interior, like this Sollei concept… I remember it as being very cool.
This thing is stunning! If I ever win the lotto and this goes into production I would definitely consider it. Unfortunately, I am not currently their target demographic for this thing but if I was I would be all over it! Nice job Cadillac!
Cadillac should be in this space. Obviously the SUV world, but they should focus on these types of “semi exotic” vehicles and that’s it. I think they would do well in a segment that is not well represented and go back to Cadillac being an ultra premium brand.
Love it, only a few quibbles with the exterior and price. Rolls-Royce and Bentley are not their heritage market and I found the S Class convertible equally beautiful for what sounds like a fraction of the price. But the S Class is gone and what do I know? Hope they will also produce something more attainable for reasonably successful Americans not shopping in the Rolls / Bentley space. Thanks, Alex!
@@kencoleman8929 CT5 convertible will come later, _after_ the Sollei goes into production. It’ll be a smaller, less luxurious version of this vehicle. This is the essence of Cadillac: long massive sedans and coupes. People will pay money for this kind of opulence. Maybe add some tail fins in the back to make it just a few inches longer than the S class.
Beautiful concept! Cadillac absolutely can (and should) make $300K cars - play the Mercedes game. There's enough history and heritage to pull it off, and if it looks like this - heck yeah! The rear end styling is the only area that doesn't quite 'wow' me - it's not bad - but it plays dangerously in the 'old person' territory that Cadillac so crucially tries to avoid (the color, while beautiful, may also be adding to this).
Now that is what most of us who stopped buying Cadillac have been waiting for. I'd like to know if the front bucket seats automatically go forward when the back gets tilted for rear passengers then come back to the original setting. Also do the front seat restraint come out automatically for easy reach. Is the glove box airconditioned as is the case with higher luxury brands.
Awesome. They should make this as a rare coachbuild convertible AND hardtop coupe. Executed properly this could be a great collector car in years to come. Properly plan, refine and BUILD IT!
GM has been doing the most interesting stuff out of any automaker recently. C8, Blackwings, Escalade V, Lyriq, affordable Equinox EV, Trax, Envista, etc. If they put CarPlay in their EVs my next car would be a GM 100%.
Actually, that looks really good. I do think the grille is way too busy though. Perhaps get rid of the center, and replace it with a single body color panel (similar to what Volvo does with their recharge lineup).
A Cadillac with a style from the 70s :)! I would have loved it for them to put the rear wheels even further out back, and make it look large and planted, sporty. Of course nothing RWS cannot solve with turning circle.
Overall a beautiful concept. The only thing I would change is the interior color. That yellow isn't awful, but I don't think it's great either. Black would be too dark for that car. White? Tan? Maybe another classic throwback and go with burgundy? Either way great looking car!
Cadillac has been making great looking concept cars for a few years now, it's time to stop showing and produce them !!!! The design team does a fabulous job!!!! Only if those whom hold the purse at GM loosen the purse strings and go big and bold !!!! Maybe America will once again have a world class luxury car, like in the days when cadillac spared no expense with real wood and chrome etc.
I think it's fantastic. It would be nice to have a big convertible with a useable back seat. I also think the market is ready for a convertible that you can take friends out in. Look at the boating market and the dramatic rise in popularity of pontoons. Also, I think the demographic that would spend so much money on their Harley has outgrown that lifestyle and is looking for a safer open-air option.
This is beautiful with the top down. I wonder what it looks like with the top up as I think the celestiq is pretty ugly. I hope they make something like this based on he the Cadillac Lyriq which I think is better looking and is a lot more affordable
This is the most Cadillac-looking Cadillac Cadillac has made since the 1970's. I think it's a great concept.
cadillac ciel is the best of all time
This is top comment is the most accurate statement of all time
It’s about time we have a convertible couch from Cadillac again.
Gorgeous! Going back to their roots!
Wish there was a nice ice engine in there though!
This looks great! This is by far the best expression of the new Cadillac EV design language. It doesn't look like an awkward hearse, more like a Rolls Boat Tail.
Finally. This the Cadillac I can love.

Great to see a REAL Cadillac. It's not done 'til it's overdone!

They NEED to make this
That's a beautiful vehicle. I actually don't mind the soft yellow interior.
It’s reminiscent of the older “yellow” Cadillac interiors from the 1970’s iirc
so so good .. so retro yet so futuristic

That’s exactly how Cadillac pronounces _CELETSTIQ._ Even if Alex doesn’t. Lol.
Every time he says Celestick I’m saying it’s pronounced “Cel es teek!”
I'll vote for the non-French pronunciation. More modern, more American.

Geez. It looks epic 😍
The vehicle is gorgeous! It's giving decadent lemon cupcakes with a buttercream icing 🍋 💛
A beautiful and elegant design. I love the color.
Definitely returning to their roots with the landyachts, which is a good thing. Kinda wish it looked more like the Ciel, but its definitely a start!
Wow, I kind of missed the 2 door designs from Cadillac. This is a great looking vehicle, and I would love to see it with different color combos.
So gorgous, hope to see it on the road one day!

Do it! Looks better than more expensive EV high end models out there. Color works too.
Now that's a Cadillac !
Cadillac, please make this convertible!
Been a while since you made one that looks good ('74 El Dorado)
I'm getting a nice 1970s Eldorado land yacht vibe. 🙂
Fantastic! I've been wanting a classic Cadillac for years but I may just be yearning for a modern one at this rate
Now this is luxury! Large as hell and opulent
Looks fantastic even if it isn't Ciel gorgeous.
Phonetically Sollei comes from the french word “Soleil” which means Sun, this concept looks so nice
No shit Sherlock. Thanks for explaing.
Finally a rear end that doesn’t give off Pontiac Aztec vibes.
Bring it on!
This is one of the best looking if not the best looking car for at least the last decade, and best looking Caddy since the Ciel concept.
You can see this is a Celestiq with the roof removed. It's the same car. Looking forward to an actual Caddy EV under $120k since I've sold my ELR.
Gorgeous!! I wish I would be able to afford it!
