I'd love to see you try them with the stock SCX springs because they are so soft and bouncy stock. So it would be cool to see an exact comparison that way with stock springs then the oil filled with stock springs.
My latest build has them with some vlp springs from the double barrels and oil filled. They seem to be really good so far! Need to do some more testing but I like a little oil in them because they are super smooth.
You could soften the springs a bit by heating them. Just be careful not to over do it because there's no going back. We do this on the rear shock springs on our 1:1 Monte Carlo stockcar to get it to squat a little. The rules say everything has to be factory stock equipment, but doesn't say it has to be in factory condition. So we "bend" the rules just a bit, which is just part of racing.
Thanks for putting the link. When you just put in Scx24 on the website or even oil filled shocks they literally don't come up, just the grn n blk ones for 24.99 or whatever show up. Also I pre ordered a kyosho mini z AWD sublime green Challenger. Down own so looking forward to messing with that once released.
Yeah I did the same thing trying to find the link lol. I go to their site and search for them and nothing! Definitely confusing lol. Sweet on the kyosho!!! Let me know how ya like it!
They surprised me honestly. They feel insanely stiff just feeling them but it ran pretty well so I may just leave them for a bit and see how I like them. Good info! Thanks
by the way guys, coming from the racecar world, theres a method and math to suspension. you need to know your sprung weight vs unsprung weight spring rates, and shock valving. Shocks are meant to control spring rates. So depending on how heavy your body and electronics are, you need to adjust the spring rate and the shock control accordingly. Id say the lightest springs possible are probably the ones to work well with these shocks depending on how body heavy your rig is.. Idk where you would get it but some super thin oil would help, youre only looking for the littlest bit of control with the shocks it should almost be water. But theres only so many options unless someone finds a set of many different rate springs with the diameter needed.
I’m running them on my yota build now with the vlp springs (much softer) from a set of double barrel shocks and love them! Haven’t had any leaking on mine yet.
Mine have been stuck in customs for about a week ,was hoping to post a video . the bottoms need to be a closed grounded type of spring so he spring sits flush instead of bending around or warping, the crush rate or N/mm Rate = amount of weight required to compress 1mm. Ahhh day late dollar short always. Bright side is I have about 100+ pairs of springs coming in,cause thats the only issue with all these shock companies, try some sram butter in the shocks, its suspension grease.rather than oil.
Oh man that sucks. Mine actually came pretty quick. I was a bit surprised. I have several different springs laying around so I may try something else in them. I’ll have to try the butter out!
@@2fmrc yeah let us know if you find one type that works good. The butter is pretty good, might take a bit to get the air out but has been working good for me on my shocks, diffs, and linkages.
i run double barrel shocks with limiting straps. I have 43mm shocks and a 41mm driveshaft so at MAXXX literal max flex ive had my driveshaft pop (only once and it was a position i couldnt save and rolled out of anyway) so i run 41mm limiting straps now just to avoid that. also they look cool lol
Yeah I really like the atlas body on it. If I hadn’t did the orange one I’d def kept this one like it was. Just hate to have 2 that look basically the same 😂
Those springs look to be too stiff. Will the original SXC24 springs fit on the Treal shocks? They will be too short but you can wind down the pre-tensioners to take up the space. This is how I run the Carisma shocks. You can even run the pre-tensioners all the way up if you are into running full droop.
Yeah I’m planning to try a few different setups with them. I think the stock springs will work like you said or maybe I’ll put some off the double barrels on them. I have a few extra sets.
I think they are basically the same. I know the original version of the aluminum shocks were the same between the two companies. Shared the same threads on the caps and everything. Not 100% sure on these but I’d say they are about the same honestly. How do you like the HR?
@@2fmrc I'm a fan. I initially built them for my video review and put too heavy oil in them and it made them a little stiff. But I've since replaced it with 15 wt and I feel like that with the black springs (softest) is the way to go.
I bought some Full send axles and when I turn to full lock they bind and wont move. Ever have this problem? I am running stock motor so maybe it's just too weak but I dunno.
I haven’t had that issue but I know some people have had that issue with the hot racing ones. Definitely message fullsendrc and he’ll take care of it. He’ll probably just send you a new set.
Hey how would feel like those shocks/springs would perform with 10 weight instead of 20 weight in them? You said they were stiff with 20 weight. Also have you had any leaking/seeping issues or had to refill them? If so, after how long?
They would probably work fine with 10wt. They were actually just stiff no matter what with the springs that came with them. They are too firm. I prefer them with the vlp springs from the double barrel shocks. I did have to refill one of them but it was a couple months before I noticed it had lost any oil. Much better than my oil filled carismas.
I guess if you were good with needle nose pliers you could cut the springs down and bend the end into a ring again, then stretch them out to make them a little softer.... I might try that if I feel they're still too stiff with 10 weight. Beats buying MORE springs/shocks.. Gonna look at other oil filled shock options too, since you gave me the idea to try lighter weight oil in whatever I end up running. Thanks!
You made a good point about the limiting straps, but ive been thinking maybe using them to limit the travel to about 3/4, or half of the extra barrel in the shock. The extra flex is great, but sometimes i can get the body level when the axles are ajacent. I think taking them back just a little tincy bit would be still far more effective but would help to eliminate those situations with offloading and crossing the axles up.
@@Andrew-hh3ol so with that....do the 1/24 1/25 scale plastic models fit 1/18 1/24 rc?? They're like 40 bucks in my area and I haven't touched a model in so long I forgot what actual size they are. Looking for a body for a 1/18 panda 6x6 And a 1/24hobby plus

pretty scummy that the amazon seller stole your pictures but to be fair whether you buy through them, Treal or any other company, they are making their parts in the same horrible shops in china. they just charge twice as much to put their name on it and be a middle man that ships from the states.
Yeah these shocks haven’t been available for a long time for some reason. I wish I could get a set for all of my trucks but apparently that’s not gonna happen now if the site is down lol

Thanks for the video man! Appreciate the feedback. Looking forward to a long term review.
So true about limiting straps, great stuff.
I have the hot racing oil shocks with some special sauce angle setup with 35 wt AE oil and WOW. love the damping on these shocks
I definitely would like a shock video. Keep up the amazing work
I run the treal shocks with no fluid in them. And just ajust the spring rate ring. And they work great!

Yes please make a shock comparison video!
If you wanna try it matt, 5w fork oil for dirtbikes might be a good option for oil. or even 10w maybe?
I used the Light pressure springs from double barrels they seem to work really well.
Very nice build bro 👍🏽✌🏽👊🏾🔥
The HR shocks are 32mm, the Treal are 40mm eye to eye. That's about 0.300 inches shorter. The SCX C10 is 40mm factory the deadbolt is 42mm.
The carisma springs r amazing n they give u a good amount of dropp
If you could run a homemade shock hoop pops through the hood with the cap showing to make up for length that would look cool.
These seem interesting.
I read that stiff is good. Not super stiff but stiff and slightly less stiff in the rear. I think it was a axial forum
They surprised me honestly. They feel insanely stiff just feeling them but it ran pretty well so I may just leave them for a bit and see how I like them. Good info! Thanks
So they don't leak and try the carisma springs

how about one strap on center link ,limit up / down travel ,not articulation
