    • @RCWithAaron
      @RCWithAaron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be the entire steering setup/ linkage on these cars. the setup is pretty sloppy out of the box. A lot of after market parts to correct a lot of issues and make it a solid unit. They're def great little rigs out of the box but also equally a lot to be sorted out.

  • @msavage138
    @msavage138 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you think about shortening the servo wires and re-soldering them to the servo board? I was considering doing it instead of the coil. Does that run any risk to screwing up the servo gear alignment?

    • @RCWithAaron
      @RCWithAaron  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You really shouldn't have to go into the Servo to do anything. You can just cut the wire down to shorten it & just get another connector ( I believe they common go by " Futaba J Connectors " ) Would be way easier and not have the potential to damage your servo internally. Just make sure they're hooked up right w/ the new connector that's all.

    Servo Horn spline count?

  • @BluTechEquipment
    @BluTechEquipment 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just installed the Emax servo in my C10 and have a stock C10 to compare. Stock servo turns much tighter, you find this as well? Wondering if I set something up wrong as I had to trim almost all to one side to get it to centre.

    • @RCWithAaron
      @RCWithAaron  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you get equal throw on both left and right turns? If 1 turns sharper than the other you might need to reset your center point. pull off your servo horn set your steering to 0 on remote and put the horn on centered. OR you might need to re adjust your end points ( not sure about the stock transmitter if you can even do this) If your end points are not set to full lock ( just before the servo / steering horns start to bind , you're not getting your full turning ability. Double check that.

    • @BluTechEquipment
      @BluTechEquipment 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RCWithAaron It's centered as best as I could, the trim is almost 90% one way or the other to centre it tho just because the next spline over puts it too far the other way, if that makes sense. It's even steering side to side but just not nearly as tight as the stock setup. How do you readjust end points?

  • @Daniyoyo

    So after installing the servo for my scx24, the Emax is making this buzzing noise .. I have adjusted the ST/DR and I can still hear the buzz.. like I can hear the gears. This is my first servo install so I’m not sure what to expect. Servo works perfectly fine btw nice and strong . Any ideas ??

    • @RCWithAaron
      @RCWithAaron  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just double checking here & a few ideas. hard to say without having it in person... - Before you did anything , did you zero out your Steering trim on your Controler and hook up the servo with nothing Attatched... Does it make noise just sitting idle? check your linkages and make sure they move freely... Was it buzzing prior to hooking anything up if you did step 1.. If it didn't make noise with nothing hooked up to it, a linkage or something might be binding or pushing against the servo horn. You would need to find that . or , try and reset all controls to zero and find center again something might be off.. If you go through all those steps and it still buzzes it might just be a noisy servo , is it a Digital or Analog version? Also there are A LOT of clones out there of this servo the stickers & box can tell a lot.. if the stickers on the servo don't look like what's in the video it's most likely a clone same with the box.. At the end of the day sometimes there is just a bad servo in the mix. if you still have issues , consider exchanging it , assuming you got from Amazon.

    • @Daniyoyo
      @Daniyoyo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RCWithAaronI’m new to the hobby field and I didn’t do that at all . Zero anything out. I realized when I remove the servo horn the mouse stops. Also confirmed when I use my receiver and turn the servo to the right and left ( without servo horn attached to the links ) no noise .. noise happens when hook the servo horn to the small link it when it starts to make the noise. I will try and zero everything out today then reattach it and see if it clears it out. Also I think it’s annolog emax .. the (es08MAII).
      I will circle back to let you know my results if you don’t mind .. thanks !!!

      I'm not sure which Emax Servo you got but there are A LOT of knock offs of these flooded in the market. All these Factory Emax Servos have really long cords. You don't need a 75$ servo for these cars, unless it's just something you want just to have it.

    Ymmv but I have had 4 emax analogue servos die on me the day of installation with very safe endpoints. Rig only weighs 407 grams and has rc4wd roklox so not very much tire either. Stock servo can barely turn the tires on a high grip surface but at least I can drive the truck for more than 5 fucking minutes without it burning out. Ya it's a tight fit, if you've screwed the 2 screws in the hole you're good. I believe they make an aftermarket tray but for me I didn't bother I have them in both my scx24 and they've been fine as well as everyone else that has done this mod, it's pretty common. So I put 2 new Emax servos in my SCX24, zero'd it out. But once in a while, the servos like to glitch and go almost full lock on one side, and I trim it to full capacity and the servo still shifts to one side. How can I fix this, and there is something I'm doing wrong?

    • @RCWithAaron
      @RCWithAaron  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is happening on both of your Servos you got , or just 1 of them? I'm not 100% sure what's going on not having it actually happen to me but a few things you can try. There are A LOT of Emax Clone servos out there not all are created equal & it's hard to tel somtimes.. Some say " metal gears " but only have metal gear on the servo horn part and internal gears are plastic. *You can open the case up ( carefully ) and see if any of your gears are stripped out. *Or if your ends points were set too far and over extended the arms could have caused it to break something as well. *Check the screw that holds the servo horns on make sure it's not loose or slipped and stripped out any gears in that part. It could slip and catch on another part and lock it in.. If it's happening to both Servos that's a bit odd. But, it is a little hard to understand what's going on without actually having it. Hopefully You can come across someone who's possibly had a similar situation or issue. You could search for SCX24 groups on FB or some other platform and possibly get a solid good answer! Hope you get it sorted out & sorry I don't really have a good answer for you!

      It's hard to say but , Just to confirm , before you installed your servo did you 0 out your controller steering adjustments then hook up your servo and find the center on the servo and match it to the truck center? if not your steering could be off and binding.... Another thing is there are a LOT of clones out there of the Emax servos some are not as good... Also, it's not out of the question to have a faulty one. It happens.. I'm assuming it's also an analog servo. If it's digital , sometimes the didigtal ones can create noise themselves.

      @RCWithAaron  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can run either one. I run digital in my bigger cars and def for racing. In these SCX24 I personally don't care to be honest. But You can get the Digital version just change the MA ( metal analog ) to MD (metal digital) or any other servo , honestly anything is better than the stock servo. Sometimes the digital servos have a wine or " sing" that's pretty much a hit / miss but can be common in cheaper or clone servos, there are a lot out there that's for sure..

      I have an analog in one and a digital in the other. Both perform great and are virtually silent. I will say an important thing though, if you run an aftermarket receiver, some have specific settings for either analog or digital (and default is usually digital). You WILL burn up the analog emax servo if your receiver is set incorrectly. Flysky Noble receivers fall into this category as do the C1 and C2 Futaba receivers.
