My extreme hot take is that besides the blue lanterns and the orange lantern that the green lanterns are the most boring lantern core. My second hot take is that Atrocitus should be handled more like black Adam. He is the leader of the red lanterns and sometimes can be on the side of good under the right circumstance, being angry, doesn’t automatically make you evil
@SpeedingBear Yes i agree but there are some exceptions of course, such as Aquaman by geoff johns, aquaman by peter david, the movie aquaman that was imo the most beautifull looking cbm of all time, but yes in the end i agree he deserves more recognition since hes so underrated, he deserves his own game, animated series, comic book saga on the lvl of knightfall or no mans land, comic books on the lvl of Batman contagion batman legacy (both volumes) batman year one all star Superman wonder woman by greg rucka and etc, u do the math 😂. Hes definitely the most underrated superhero of all time for sure, hope he gets more love he deserved so much as soon as possible! ✌️
I'm old, so I haven't watched/read a lot of the newer DC comics or animated series. I'm an OG lover. Hal was amazing when I was growing up. But what I've seen with Jon, I think he's a very close 2nd. Can't wait for the new DC Lantern show!
This video really drove home for me that a bunch of the versions of DC heroes that I grew up with are now the versions that are most overlooked for their "successors". You mentioned Tim Drake and Kyle Raynor in this (I also grew up with Stewart to extent, but my introduction to Green Lantern was Raynor) and beyond that there is Connor Kent (like Tim with Damien, Connor is often overlooked in favor of Jon these days). I feel like there are more, but - ironically - I'm forgetting them now too.
Yeah my cannon Justice League has Hal as its main Lantern and of course a founding member(Mine would be based on Darwyn Cooks lineup) but when the first wave of expansion of the Justice League comes around John Stewart is one of the next members inculded after the founders alongside versions of Cyborg(Id have him be a member of the Teen Titans too but when they go on big missions Cyborg is with the League instead), The Atom, Firestorm, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and the Hawks
Tyrell, I think your next unpopular opinion/hot take video should be on The Flash. Imagine all the possible bold opinions, and I am sure that at least one will criticize Ezra Miller's portrayal of the Flash.
I think at one point after becoming parallax, and then dying, how became the spector for a bit as a way to atone for his sins. I think that would be a pretty good way to use hell Jordan, while still permanently killing him off if you were to adapt the parallax situation
my hot take is that the Green Lantern video game is overhated sure it did not have the biggest budget and was a little to difficult for is own good but it understood the big thing about Green Lantern that the film did not space also i think Ryan Reynolds performance as Hal is better in the game then in the film
If doing the story you recommend i would have Hal sacrifice himself in a redemptive way like in the comics but only a few know such as Kyle and John with everyone else only knowing him as the villain he became
My unpopular hot take is.....every human GL is better/more interesting than Hal Jordan. I don't even like Guy Gardner and think Jo Mellein is criminally underutilized, but both are still more interesting!

Hal Jordan is as much of(maybe even more so) a jerk as John Steward. Kyle Rayner maybe the kindest/nicest/most polite green lantern, but that doesn't make him anywhere near the best!
I completely agree that Hal should have died and stayed dead after becoming parallax. Ever since they brought him back, outside of the new guardians run, they have pushed Kyle to the wayside. He was created to be the savior of the green lanterns and to take the place of Hal. And them leaving hal dead would have created a dynamic that a lot of comics don’t have. Killing off a main character after decades of them being around and keeping that theme within their stories would set them apart and create a larger fan base because of it. If they really wanted to after it’s been a long time like 50 years they could do a major reset for all of DC and lanterns could start again…maybe, idk how I feel about that but maybe

I dont understand how all the 2814 lanterns are humans. Cant we have a main lantern who's an Alien and protects Earth?
Agreed. There's gotta be a couple of alien races in the same sector who would have to care for our system.
