Just found a ton of black mold in the lid of my contigo tumbler. Really love the button mechanism but I didn't realize how many little spots I wasn't able to clean. Used a q-tip and found so much black mold that my sponge never got to. Time to get something with no buttons and easy to properly clean.
The Thermos ones are the best to me. I put them in the dishwasher without any issue. The only thing, is the black one lost its paint job over the years, but the dishwash hasn't affected their performances. The handles eventually came off too, but they are still great and actually fit better in cup holders without the handles.
I have two Yeti rambler 20 ounce tumblers and they are both very disappointing. Coffee is ice cold after 6 hours in both. Also, both the magslider and stronghold lids both leak. My thermos king mug performs much better than the Yeti.
How is Zojirushi not rated the best?? It simply out performs everything on this list and I've tried Stanley, Contigo, Thermos and Yeti; Zojirushi has them all licked.
What I want to know is, why did Contigo seemingly discontinue the ceramic-lined Twistseal mugs? I don't particularly like the Twistseal mechanism, in fact, mine is no longer stopping at the hard stops when opening/closing, so I have to replace the mug or at least the lid, but I wonder why ceramic lining isn't just standard in all these mugs? Particularly with hot tea with liquid cream (evaporated milk), the stainless steel makes it taste nasty; the ceramic makes it taste good.
What about side effects from the steel and or plastic ? Some say stainless steel might cause cancer or other effects. And plastic some say you could also be drinking plastic. Just like what they say about plastic water bottles today. - so based on those standpoints. What would be the best safety mug ?
Thermos - but my Teavana keeps tea hotter for maybe an hour longer - but the paint in beginning to peel off in the dented areas where I dropped i. Aim for unpainted so it will look good for many many years.

Marketing. They sit back and don’t give a f in marketing as the bottle should market itself. IYKYK.

I was given a YETI because my Contigo doesn’t keep the coffee hot like YETI. BUT the YETI leaks. Very discouraging.
Yes! One of the cons of it.

Sounds like you should go with a standard ceramic mug.
