4K Diving with HUGE Great Hammerhead sharks at Bimini in the Caribbean in January 24. Awesome sharks

This was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had in about 27 years under the waves. I spent six and a half hours underwater in one day with Great Hammerhead sharks and Nurse sharks, we had about 5 different Hammerheads that day and scores of Nurse Sharks. The star of the show, who stayed all day, was The Queen, or Queenie! She is about 17ft long and is one of, if not the most, impressive and magnificent animals that I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. She was so gentle, graceful and curious. To say she is not shy is a huge understatement, she bumped me when I was coming down the line, you can see it in the video, but this was just curiosity not aggression or predatory behaviour, she was just saying hello:) She took my breath away, I will never forget this encounter. Thanks to the Bubbleheads (you know who you are) and of course Jim Abernethy Scuba Adventures who are super cool. The whole crew is awesome and the shark diving at Tiger Beach and Bimini was absolutely outstanding. Jim is a legend in the game and the passion of himself and his crew is palpable. Whaaaaaat! the size of its head and its fin😲😲😲

Yeah she is amazing, the huge head called a cephalofoil is used to detect prey items and also supports its ability to manoeuver. The huge dorsal fin also helps with its stability and they can be observed sometimes swimming on their sides to conserve energy, this huge dorsal really helps with that.
