I’m in a similar boat. Except I sold my MacBook Air and replaced it with a much more powerful Mac Mini Pro that I exclusively use with my Vision Pro. My Mac mini doesn’t even have a monitor hooked up to it. I just put on the Vision Pro and screen share my Mac to it when I need to do Mac stuff.
I did the same thing, sold my MacBook Pro and decommissioned my iMac. Apple does need to do a better job of making the AVP/Mac Mini usability better though. You shouldn’t have to be logged into the Mac Mini before you connect and you shouldn’t have to be right beside it. They should be able to do a secure connection and login via certificates and retinal scans, even if you’re in a separate room.
@ Nope it wasn’t connecting and I found a support document that said you have to be close. It connects now but I have to run downstairs every time. It makes wonder if anyone at Apple is actually using it.
Exactly. I don't have a Mac, but it has certainly replaced my entire home theater set-up. As a single person who rents a home and may have to move, not having a TV, sound system, and basically everything normally in a living room saves time, space, and money.
Glad to hear some of the people who know how powerful the early AR/VR device is. Even the basic feature, such as multiple resizable floating screens should be enough to know that such device is far superior to other device. It is not another overpriced gimmick because it can do everything other devices can do but far more since it's only in 1% of the potential while other device had already reach full potential so is not even close to being comparable
What is the average amount of time you all can comfortably work using the Apple Virtual Display? For instance, I do a lot work on my M3 MacBook Pro laptop, and wanted to know if I could work for 5-6 hours comfortably on the Vision Pro? I know I would have to take breaks, but any input would be great.
@@colo5857 I usually work on it for 2 to 3 hours with no problems and then naturally take a break. Not because it’s uncomfortable but just because I need to do things like walk the dog, grab a coffee, etc., then I come back and usually work another 1 to 2 hours or so. I use it with the Annapro V1 headset and have no issues with it.
I've worn mine for 3-4 hours in a go, with an appropriate aftermarket head strap. After that, i've usually finished what I'm doing or just needed the break anyway. Not really a discomfort issue anymore for me.
I think a 2024 Mac Mini or 2025 Mac Studio with a portable battery would be better than a MacBook since you can use a keyboard without the useless weight of a laptop screen and get more power and better thermal performance. Also, the new Mini fits in the marshmallow case. Or, you could try the headless MacBook mod option. I bought an Apple Vision Pro a month ago and want to move away from physical screens.
@@ShihanQu I've used mine for eight hours straight using only the solo knit band and had no discomfort. Having the headset closer to my face by not using the lightseal increases the FOV and may also distribute the weight better.
Love this vid. I feel the same. I'm honestly surprised for the negativity out there re this product. I enjoy using mine so much (once I got the AnaPro headstrap, which was the best one for me). I wore it on a 6 hour plane flight and watched three movies with no discomfort whatsoever. It made flying so much more enjoyable. As soon as I get the wide display update this month I will be using it more for work (audio production).
Try increasing the FOV by removing the lightseal and stacking the two cushions atop each other. There's also the Air Cover 2.0 which creates the same effect. You can add around thirteen degrees horizontally and six vertically!
I would say I mainly notice it if my lenses are very dirty, and for me, I mainly noticed it in brighter scenes. Whenever I clean my lenses, it helps a lot, to the point that I don’t notice it. But yes, it can be annoying sometimes!
Completely agree!!! It's crazy but so good to hear others have come to the same point as I have. I sold my iPad too as it was just collecting dust. I got a Macbook instead of a iMac or a Mini when it was time to upgrade there. And the same for the home theater as it was mostly a me thing! I'm the one who uses it most of the time and my family couldnt care less if it was a 55" vs an 85" or 55' super duper OLED QLED LMNOP 4k 8k 999K whatever display. So although it's about the time I usually look into upgrading it all, I am not interested anymore bc of the Vision Pro. I'll just keep the family happy in the theater room and I'll be happy with my Vision Pro. Never thought that spending that 4k on the Vision Pro would lead to such other choices that would save lots of money elsewhere to about justify it's huge price. It's awesome to hear that others are feeling the same!
I really think the Vision Pro shows a lot of promise but I’m still frustrated that it more closely resembles an iPad than a Mac when it comes to its UX and positioning philosophy.

Awesome, I think this is the direction things are going.

@@bobwitmer2492 It won't connect from another room if you launch Virtual display from Control Center?

I use my AVP as a replacement for physical monitors, personal entertainment and being to have unlimited iPads that I can dynamically resize.

awesome content
Thanks!
M4 pro Mac mini, Vision Pro… iPhone & Apple Watch and I’m good.

I work for an hour or two, but really with all my tweaks to the after market head band it's still a pain.

Except if you want to use the vision pro for more than a couple of hours, you probably need a strap that won't fit in the pillow case

With watching films. Do you get lots of glare/smudge in dark environments? And when you move your head around?
Ruins the experience a little.

Currently rocking a Quest 3 but keeping an in the vision pro and hoping a future vision headset will be far more affordable 🙏

Hey, I like the stand or dock where you have placed your Vision Pro in it. What is it exactly? Where can I get this?
PrismXR. I have a video on it. if you end up buying one, use my affiliate link!
This is the way 👍
Great take, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the video! I’ll happy to see more daily basis usage of Apple vision pro

I need suggestions on good battery bank
Whats your job to spent this kinda money on tech only?
I work in the film industry- post production!
