I've got the 6 1/2 x 14 walnut satin. I love it. Currently recording the new #Thunderosa record with it. I couldn't be happier with the sounds I'm getting out of it.
Thank you for the vid! But..... why use the hoop clamp for the mic, when they are known for choking the drum a tad? And also, these drums cant be this dry. Muffling had to be used, unless it was the hoop claim choking it that much, which i highly doubt... what about doing the vid with the snare mic on a stand and no muffling
No S Hoops on these. They use a slingerland style stick saver hoop on the perfect ply snares. If they had S Hoops, you more than likely wouldnt have seen the mic clamp. I have them on all of my snares and ive found only one clamp that works on them.
I agree. I'm just hearing wires. Where is the tone? I know these guys know how to make a drum and are well respected. I'm just not hearing anything but a choked shell
Wow..what is the ride! cymbal. I already have a 6x14 black walnut with inlay..killer snaredrum.
I have a 6.5x14 inch Maple Hendrix. Love the 3 snare adjustment is has. By far one of my most favorite snare drums I own. Worth every penny.
I have just heard about Hendrix drums. I agree the 14X8's are my favorite sounding. I love the look of the Bubinga. Where can I play these?

Its most likely the S Hoops and some muffling...... one makes the drum quite drum but two I think kills it completely.

Why would you be playing a kick drum that has DW drums on it? And not a whole Hendrix kit? Those snares are absolutely incredible!!
