UMX Radian Flight on 1/15/2024 in cul-de-sac and front yards

I flew my UMX Radian powered glider in front of my house on 1/15/2024 .. I launched it in SAFE mode and immediately switched to AS3X .. it was quite windy, but this flight was a lot better than the flight on 1/17/2024 where I forgot to turn off SAFE after launching .. for the first flights of this plane I just launched with AS3X on and stayed in that mode .. after watching some videos or reading some things, I saw someone suggest launching in SAFE so that it keeps the plane level as it leaves the hand .. I tried it and it does make hand launching with my right hand easier and gives me enough time to get my right hand on the transmitter .. I've now flown this plane and a UMX Night Radian since starting to fly again, and SAFE just isn't useful for anything other than getting out of trouble in my opinion .. I can see how it might be useful to a beginner who has no one to help .. however I think using SAFE will create habits and reliance that might be hard to unlearn.
I'm going to start using my GoPro Her0 4 or an iPhone Pro Max on a mount on my pylon racing helmet to try to get better video.
After 4 years of dealing with the rare disease in my spinal bones, it feels really good to be doing some flying again after not knowing if I ever would get to again.

They give good flight times and while a little heavier than the E-flite 150mAh 25C batteries, the additional weight doesn't seem to be a problem.

The GN3 250 mAh batteries weigh about 6.5 grams and the E-flite 150 mAh batteries weigh about 5 grams .. the extra gram or two gives better power and longer flights.
