The municipality of Celles Belgium had already made a bid several times to take over the castle and the land, but the family did not want to renounce the castle yet. The castle has been removed from the list of heritage, as a result of which it was no longer protected against possible demolition. There was a big risk of collapse and was eventually demolished. a pity about such a beautiful castle.

If this was offered to multi millionaires for $1, with the precondition that $1 Million must be spent to make it safe, I bet it would be still standing.
Too old to preserve, I feel so connected to my Ancestry part of Dutch, English, French and Portuguese. That's why I lived around the world all alone as early since childhood including 8 years EU (Dutch residence permit 2002-2010).
