I stayed overnight at Chillingham Castle and I'm surprised they didn't mention the ghost of the executioner who walks the halls. I stayed in the Tower Apartment which was so scary. It was a fun stay until I found out i happened to be the only guest in the castle at he time.
I myself have stayed at Chillingham castle, I have been there 4 times now. I stayed in the Grey, from asking the staff the Grey room is the most haunted room you can rent. Before I talk about the paranormal I’m gonna talk about the castle it’s self. It is an extraordinary place I’ve been there 4 times I love it so much. Some people may not like Chillingham as it doesn’t offer the holiday in feel, but what it does offer is a large and rich amount of history. The castle is more authentic then most people would assume, the owner Sir Humphrey tries to keep the castle authentic witch I appreciate. Now for the paranormal, when I did stay in the grey room. I repeatedly heard what sounded like someone walking in the apartment, they also sounded like they where dragging some sort of cloth along as well. In the video you may notice the painting of Lady Mary Barkley, she is wearing a dress and it did sound like someone walking with a dress. I also noticed the door to the apartment closing, the wind couldn’t of opened it and no one could of opened it. I will be posting a video on Chillingham, the history, sorties and my experiences. I would highly recommend going to Chillingham even if not for the paranormal. If you are going for the paranormal do not disrespect the spirits that may haunt the castle. The staff their have advised people to approach it opened minded and take it like your meeting someone for the first time when trying to contact them.
I can tell you what is more heartbreaking hun Hear me out before you judge me please xx . The other day i been watching documentaries of SCHINLERS LIST did you see all the bones in the Leap castle with a purple band on them , they are not the bones for those people who died there they are the Jewish people who were murdered 76 yrs ago. 😞😞😭 it is true.
There was an urban legend.. somewhere in Europe about a haunted castle. There was a king who claimed no one can beat him in the game of chess. One night the devil visited him, and challenged him for a chess duel. If the King wins, the king gets his wish. If the devil wins, the devil takes the King's soul. The match went on, and the king won. The devil asked him to look behind and disappeared. Apparently, the match lasted for hundreds of years, and the room was walled off ages ago. The King was eventually found by a tourist, and realized his kingdom was long gone and he got tricked by the devil. (or was it his wish to be hundreds of years ahead of his time?) I read this on the Internet back in the 90s, but I don't remember where this castle was located.
In Loftus Hall in Ireland, one stormy night a traveller begged to come into the house. He made friends with his hosts, but one night he dropped a card and the lady of the house picked it up and noticed he had cloven feet. She screamed and he flew up, making a hole in the ceiling which is still there. I think there's a lot of these legends linked to several places. Loftus Hall is a great visit
I've visited endinburg castle before. The dungeon is definitely one of the creepiest places I've ever been to. Only place that scared me more was the catacombs under endinburg, which are also supposed to be haunted. Either everyone else had very good poker faces, or I was the only one hearing loud footsteps down the tunnel, but yeah...
By watching all these castles stands for today, just thinking all poor souls built all of it, unknown, not given credit the worked they been done, Incredible piece of arts stood the text of times…
Casa Loma has 1 section of corridors that is a confusing maze, ended up coming lost at 1 point & had to ask an employees directions to reach the main section. Visited it when I was small with my mum.
Did you see the bones on the Leap Castle ? Thoughs are the bones of the Jewish people who were murdered 76 years ago by HITLER! I watched the documentaries the other day.
Jeez. Some serious safety concerns on top of Kelly Castle!!! If I won the Powerball, you can guarantee that I would be buying the most beautiful and elegant castle that had a haunted reputation. There is just something about castles that captures the imagination and makes you nostalgic for an era you've never lived in before.
You could’ve done Poenari Citadel in Romania, when the Ottomans ambushed Vlad Țepeș III, or Vlad the Impaler. His wife, instead of being tortured, chose to throw herself off of a cliff into a nearby river, Poenari Citadel may be destroyed, but it’s infamous. (Vlad Țepeș was beheaded, and his head was put by the Turkish gates.)
The fact you did not give the location nor time frame when Number 7 on your list was built/completed, only intrigued me further. Now I look forward to researching "Houska Castle" myself. Thank you for your upload. I just found this channel, I am loving it so far. Keep up the good work! ps. nice narrator voice for this channel! I have now subscribed! I look forward to binge watching on a lazy, relaxed Sunday afternoon here in NC, USA.
Agreed…I believe there are Echos of times and people of the past…or perhaps even in the future? Like Deja Vu ….Or, Perhaps there are people stuck in or between portals of time……or planes of existence… There is a long standing belief in humanoid cultures, that our souls do migrate to a new incarnation when we die… Perhaps some souls get lost on their journey? Or…Perhaps what we believe we experiencing of ghosts , we are really just hearing and seeing glimpses of people out of phase with our time and place? Perhaps there are also a few malevolent non human spirits who will impersonate people from the past ..or have influenced or even taken them over….OR perhaps it is WE whom accidentally step into these portals or phases? …or all of the above… We tend to think of time as linear….but the physics ….gives us an inkling, that time is anything but….
I stayed at Dalhousie castle June 2002 on my honeymoon. I went all over that castle alone(hubby was afraid) and never experienced any paranormal activity at all. I was an atheist at the time and wasn’t open to anything. Maybe that was why. We do have pics with orbs in them tho. That was cool to see.

Completely agree with you regarding Edinburgh castle. I visited many castles over the years and this has to be the most prolific paranormal castle on Earth. My father was the Guard Commander there in the Kings Owns Scottish Borders for several years. I have seen full on apparitions there & intense paranormal activity plus been scratched on several occasions during visits has led me to this conclusion. Also troubled by nightmares on several occasions after visiting including my 1st wife who was traumatised by the experience.

Lancaster castle should be here. It was where the Pendle witch trials where. It is still in use today and dates from Roman times. Pendle witch trial happen long before Salem in America. Must be haunted more than any of these castles!

Being from Cape Town and having visited the castle of good hope multiple times I in NO WAY knew it was haunted, I did however get a weird vibe when I was there.
Missing Dragsholm Castle in Denmark. It is full of ghosts. And remains/bones of people have been found inside the wall. The Earl of Bothwell went insane in the castle prison and is now walking again.
Casa Loma is a very interesting castle indeed. My family & I visited and toured the place - We never seen or heard any haunting and would recommend others to visit Casa Loma if they can!!!

Interesting on Casa Loma where property taxes went from $600 a year to $1000 a month and he left? If you're considered wealthy and you own such a castle, why would you get "evicted" at $1000 a month for taxes? He couldn't have been that wealthy. Geez. People in CA pay that now without blinking. Hey if you can't pay your property taxes, just die, go back and haunt the place - for FREE. lol.

In the north of Germany there is an old house, it’s called „der rote Haubarg“. Legend says that it was built by the devil himself.

That’s the worst castle on the earth…demons ready to pounce on mankind’s ass.
I don't believe in ghosts per say, but I do believe that certain places remember the events that occurred there.

Buildings aside, the London Underground is said to be very haunted.

I heard that if you let alone a house or a room without human being around for 40days, the unseen may occupy the place.
