Wow, this really brings back a lot of memories . My whole family went in the mid 70's now they have all passed beyond the rainbow . Thank you so much .
The Carpetbagger I thought this place was closed down for good because of a massive fire that happened there. An employee there wasn't too happy and decided to cause a fire which started in the emerald city and then spread through half of it I think. The employee was fired and then the owner tried to fix it up but sadly couldn't afford it I think. I don't know if I have this right but two things I know for sure is there was an employee that wasn't happy and there was a huge fire.
Dorothy's house used to rock, making it difficult to keep your balance. With ropes attached to the house, there would be men standing outside on both sides of the house pulling the ropes back-and-forth. It was so much fun! I'm 53 now, but I'll never forget going there every year as a child!
I really loved seeing you enjoy spending the day with your daughter, so sweet❤️ Reminds me of when my dad would take me to really cool museums & attractions all the time as a kid
Jacob, this was so amazing! I saw another video some time ago of another ride park based on Oz and that's what I thought this was. How utterly enchanting!! It's what I love about your channel....something so out of the ordinary that leaves me feeling wonderful. And BTW...."Return to Oz" is my all time favorite Oz movie....I love Jack Pumpkinhead. This movie is so much more true to the stories in the books. Thanks again for a wonderful time! I love it when you bring Anna along....God Bless!
I finally got to see it open, only seen it on abandoned videos before, what an amazing place. They have repainted the yellow brick road as it is lovely and bright now. The characters were perfect, especially the Tinman, the lion and the Witch. One of your best videos yet. Shame they demolished the Emerald City, they should rebuild it and open it back up into a theme park.
This is a magical place that my parents took me and my sister to in the early seventies and I’ve been back a few times , it really brings back beautiful memories, thank you for sharing this🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Thats cool, I remember going there in the late '70s with my family when it was in full swing. I have an old friend that is good friends with the owner of the property there. She let us go out and explorer on our own a few years ago. Thanks for the video to bring back old memories!!!
friendly history lesson from a boy who grew up in boone nc during the Oz daysand know land of Oz like back of my hand.. it was one of the best theme parks I have ever been to and that says a lot seeing in its hayday land of Oz was huge in the 70's.. the reason it closed down and they moved all of the balloon rides and large rides to a piece of property close to tweetsie railroad until they could get it all fixed and get it back up to Oz and it was to reopen but it never did and what you see here is what I call ( sorry for the language) bastardized version of the real Oz. the Beech Mtn corporation owned the property and formed the name Emerald estates and built 3 dozen little cabins next to the Oz property. and emerald estates did not kick off like they thought it was so a few people said Hey great idea lets bring back Oz for one week every year and it just looks so sad how it is now
Your daughter is one lucky little girl to have such a great dad. I hope she cherishes and appreciates all the great memories you two are making. I love watching all your videos. Keep up the good work!
This video makes me so happy! It's the best one yet. What a wonderful memory for you two! So glad you had the opportunity and that you shared it with us!! 😊
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!! My parents took me in the 70s when we lived in NC. The celler/cyclone sequence scared the hell out of me and I was wondering if it was just me remembering from a kid's point of view, but it is still scary!! I loved being able to go through it with you guys, we are nowhere near it now. Thanks again!
I have post cards of the land of oz they where my mom's when she went to this back in the 70s I wasn't born yet but yeah I would love to go I really love the wizard of oz one of my all time favourite movies
Hey Jacob.. You made my grandsons day. Annabelle in your video. We watch your videos and he says she so funny and that he's her first fan. Very cool. Thanks.. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the memories! Interesting trivia there are pictures online of a young pre Star Wars Carrie Fisher there with her mom Debbie Renolds who had some financial interest in the theme park. If Star Wars came out in 1977 it must have been just before she was cast in the role of Princess Lea.
You have no idea how much I love this place. Went there 3 times as a child, and the memory is still one of my most precious. I have been to Autumn in Oz a few times, but missed it last year thanks to the big storm, and this year thanks to work. I thank you very sweetly for this video, as I got to go through it this time with you. Perhaps next year I'll be able to make it back.
have you heard about an old theme park called Frontierland. also I remember when ghost town only had a old West town no rides just chair lift and incline railroad I am 55 so I was pretty young I even met Hossa cartwright from bonanza
This vlog was freaking awesome..i love it...I'm so excited i now can say i have a favorite vlog you have done...i want to go here...looked like so much fun :)
Just visited yesterday and wow has this place improved over the years. It was my first time and the costuming and acting was so good I felt like I was in the movie and I will for sure return next year to see if it’s different.
I know this is 2 years old BUT..... I just stumbled across it lol. We went there when I was kid. It was really cool then too. Thanks for posting this😁 Brings back great memories💖
I love joining you & your daughter on these trips, this was EPIC 👌this place is amazing with all the interaction with the cast thank you for uploading 👍☺️
I know this is an old video, but I just wanted to say how fantastic it is you take your daughter when you can. So many kids either aren’t interested and would rather stay inside all day, or don’t have the luxury of traveling. Kudos for you bringing her and it’s awesome she is interested. Love! :)
I loved this place -- thanks heaps -- you enjoy these places more than Anna and the other children !!! Nice to see you every time on your vlogs having a good old time !!! Only two days per year, is it always on this weekend of September ? There are so many places to visit in the US, how is a visitor to make up her mind where to go and wha to visit ?????? xoxox
I've been watching your more current videos for a while, but just discovered you went to the Land of Oz. I went sometime in the early 2000s when they had just reopened it for Autumn at Oz. There were minimal characters and there was not as much "show" as there was for your visit and it felt more abandoned, but still very cool. The best part was the actor that played the Munchkin coroner was there meeting people in costume.
Wasnt there a big fire at this place a long time ago? They have done a lot of work and the actors did a great job. Loved the wicked witch at the house, soo funny. Thanks for sharing!
Wow that place is awesome the actors are absolutely amazing they were on point I'm so glad they responded it I'm happy Anna had fun it was nice how the characters all talked to her she's so adorable send her all my love 💙
I love how your daughter just threw Dorothy under the bus. "yeah, she's like a mile that way."
10:41 that glinda is absolutely adorable
Wow, this really brings back a lot of memories . My whole family went in the mid 70's now they have all passed beyond the rainbow . Thank you so much .
Rest In Peace! I’m sure you have very fond memories!
The design of the house that takes you into OZ is really cool! They did a great job with that!
Anna is such a good sport and she will have so many awesome memories thanks to you!
I'll never forget that scene when the wheeler said ' YOU BEHAVE!'...glad you showed this place in full working order. Place is awesome 👍
Those things gave me nightmares
Yeah like wtf

Love your Father / Daughter time together , please do more !
Land Of Oz is such a classic attraction. That place has been on my bucket list for years. Thanks for sharing Jacob.
Same. I am a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz. I love the movie the sequel, and Oz the Great and Powerful.
Dorothy's house used to rock, making it difficult to keep your balance. With ropes attached to the house, there would be men standing outside on both sides of the house pulling the ropes back-and-forth. It was so much fun! I'm 53 now, but I'll never forget going there every year as a child!
return to oz.. one of my favourite movies ever! I remember being both terrified and obsessed with it as a kid
Me too! It was so jarringly different from the original
That was also my favorite movie as well. I so loved the special effects
Anna is so delightful! And that first Tin Man was hawwwwwwwt!
I really loved seeing you enjoy spending the day with your daughter, so sweet❤️ Reminds me of when my dad would take me to really cool museums & attractions all the time as a kid
What a cool place! Anna is such a pretty young lady. She is lucky to have such a fun dad!
Jacob, this was so amazing! I saw another video some time ago of another ride park based on Oz and that's what I thought this was. How utterly enchanting!! This looks like such a great place to visit. Loved how the Lion just hammed it up for the guests. 😁
I finally got to see it open, only seen it on abandoned videos before, what an amazing place. They have repainted the yellow brick road as it is lovely and bright now. The characters were perfect, especially the Tinman, the lion and the Witch. One of your best videos yet. It was done very well this year
im so glad you did this video and cleared this up because i was always under the impression it was abandoned, too.
Went there in the 70s with my family. Still remember the Wicked Witch of the West making her appearance on stage in a puff of smoke near Dorothy.
This was fun. It's nice that you bring your daughter along, great father/daughter time.
Thank You Jacob & Ana for taking us all with you, looked like a really good fun day out making memories x
wow what a wonderful journey thru the land of Oz thanks to you and Anna! Enjoyed it very much!
This is a magical place that my parents took me and my sister to in the early seventies and I’ve been back a few times , it really brings back beautiful memories, thank you for sharing this🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
This is great! :-) The Wizard of Oz was my late fathers favourite film - he would have loved this place! The attention to detail is impressive.
I remember going to The Land Of Oz with my son in the mid 1970's, a couple of times. Really a lot for fun with little kids. One of my best memories.
Thats cool, I remember going there in the late '70s with my family when it was in full swing. I have an old friend that is good friends with the owner of the property there. She let us go out and explorer on our own a few years ago. Thanks for the video to bring back old memories!!!
Thank you Carpetbagger!! This place looks like so much fun!! I must plan a visit!
I would totally visit that place, too bad it closed down, it looks like a lot of good clean fun......

it's labor of love and dedication for the people who took the time and efforts to reopen this for a week and play all the characters.
Your daughter is one lucky little girl to have such a great dad. I hope she cherishes and appreciates all the great memories you two are making. I love watching all your videos. Keep up the good work!

The original Emerald City portion actually burned down in a fire, which is why it's no longer there! Guess they just never rebuilt it.
I have post cards of the land of oz they where my mom's when she went to this back in the 70s I wasn't born yet but yeah I would love to go I really love the wizard of oz one of my all time favourite movies
Was the employee one of the characters?
Hey Jacob.. You made my grandsons day. Annabelle in your video. We watch your videos and he says she so funny and that he's her first fan. Very cool. Thanks.. Keep up the good work!
This place looks absolutely amazing!!!
yes indeed, check out me and my niece!!
Love anything Oz related so I'm very happy to see this.
I was truckin' down the highway, I think I was in Kansas on I-70, and I saw a sign for a place like this.
Jennifer Anne If you are talking about what I think k you are, the one here in Kansas is a museum
Thank you for going! I remember asking you about this place awhile back. Yippee I get to see it here.
Whn the lady playing Auntie Em yelled "Dorothy!", it was spot on.😆That place looks so cool. Love your videos. Just discovered them and I am hooked
Great video, first one I've seen with Anna. Her pop out face moment with the TinMan was awesome!
That place looks awesome. The Tin Man costume is Amazing.
You have no idea how much I love this place. Went there 3 times as a child, and the memory is still one of my most precious. Thanks Jacob, this place is great in an old fashioned kind of way. We love to see Anna; she is so special.
have you heard about an old theme park called Frontierland. also I remember when ghost town only had a old West town no rides just chair lift and incline railroad I am 55 so I was pretty young I even met Hossa cartwright from bonanza

Just visited yesterday and wow has this place improved over the years. It was my first time and the costuming and acting was so good I felt like I was in the movie and I will for sure return next year to see if it’s different.
The costumes at the end looked just like the illustrations in the original book
Great vlog. Anna looked like she started to get into it in the basement. very entertaining.
I know this is 2 years old BUT.....
I just stumbled across it lol.
We went there when I was kid. It was really cool then too. Thanks for posting this😁

I'm 10 minutes in and I need to say that this place looks like way more fun than I expected.
WOW out of all the places you've gone this is one I want to see. Just wow the costumes are amazing
I went there in the mid 70's! I remember very little of it... except the tree faces.
Loved this! Brings back childhood memories!
Totally cool to see this working with people. Glinda was the best! And the tornado basement with wrecked rooms. Genius!
That place looks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing 🌈😃👍
You guys did awesome! I've been there before and it was so fun.
I know this is an old video, but I just wanted to say how fantastic it is you take your daughter when you can. So many kids either aren’t interested and would rather stay inside all day, or don’t have the luxury of traveling. Kudos for you bringing her and it’s awesome she is interested. Love! :)

Ur daughter gonna grow up to be a talented creative woman bc of u good job man
This is one of the best locations I have to say I like the most that you explored
That looked like fun. The replica scarecrow at the end was slightly terrifying.
Anna is so adorable! Loved this video

He was amazing
Anna was cute as the characters, what precious memories, we have been, it's a fun experience
It's amazing how much work goes into the minimal days the park is open!
Looks like a blast. Depending on price I would drop in if I was near it. Actors were awesome. Thanks for the share.
I love this park... I live vicariously through you.
Now that was GREAT! My daughter would so much love to go there!
That looks soo much fun i would love to work there
I live right below that our family land borders beach and we used to push snow up there in the winter.
By far one of the best vlogs you have done. Now, time for me to google some info on this place. I want to go.. 😃
That Dorothy call from Aunty Em was so on point.
Pretty cool place, the movie is still great today. That's nice you're spending quality time with your daughter.
Wasnt there a big fire at this place a long time ago? They have done a lot of work and the actors did a great job. Loved the wicked witch at the house, soo funny. Thanks for sharing!
Jacob that is SOOO cool!! Anna completely threw Dorothy under the bus!! LOL!!!
That cracked me up
Wow that place is awesome the actors are absolutely amazing they were on point I'm so glad they responded it I'm happy Anna had fun it was nice how the characters all talked to her she's so adorable send her all my love 💙
I absolutely love this video!!
"Help me Henry. I can't find Dorothy! She's somewhere out in the storm! Dorothy!....Dorothy!!!!" -Auntie Em
