Arrived in Glendale AZ today, 106 degress ! Temperature will increase to 115 in the next 5 days ! After fuel stop in my 2013 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn, A/C was not blowing . After getting to the next truck stop to cool off and troubleshoot the a/c system, I watched your video. Purchased a new fuse and PRESTO...COLD A/C AGAIN !!! Thank you for your knowledge and sharing it on TH-cam 😊
Thank you for this. My 2017 5500 Ram just got out of the shop for $11,000 worth of repairs and one of the problems he was supposed to fix was the fan randomly shutting off. He wasn't able to fix it but told me to wiggle the relay. Today it shut off again, I wiggled the relay, took it out, put it back in, nothing. I then pulled the fuse up a little and boom I have a working blower motor again.
I've seen many with this issue. But most of them are actually caused by the connector under the fuse box. When you wiggle the fuse or relay up top, you're actually moving the connectors under the box, just enough to reconnect the circuit. Release the four tabs, pull up the whole box, disconnect the big four connectors, one smaller one, the battery cable and pull the whole box out. The connector directly under the relay and fuse will most likely have a pin with a burn look or melted plastic. I've seen shops replace the blown fuse, then when your going down the road, you lose air again. It's because the female connector under the box is loose and causes the fuse to blow. You'll have to repair the connection so its tight and doesn't wiggle enough to disconnect power. Also, use a straight small pic and spread the points closer where the fuse and relay gets inserted to tighten their connection.
Exactly. I pulled the engine fuse box out, disconnected the front connector adjacent to fuse and relay and found loose female connector pin, the connector was burned/ melted causing loose female pin, unfortunately the to fix Right I would need to order plastic connector and re pin every single wire, not too difficult but I ran it by my boss and instead we are just going to reconnect it and hope it holds. It’s a fleet truck so worst case it comes back not working and I just replace the plastic connector and re pin it.
Thanks for this video. I replaced the relay and was about to replace the blower resistor, but saw this video and sure enough the 13 fuse was almost burnt up
That’s awesome. Just fixed my 2014 Ram 1500. Exactly what was happening. Appreciate the info. I’m pretty vehicle savvy but this eluded me for a bit. Thank you
I cannot wait to get home to check this out. I spent my whole dang summer with my air on low because if i go anyhigher it cuts out… if it’s this freaking simple! I’ll follow up!
Thanks man! I bought a new resistor before watching this only to find this video after the install didn’t help. In the end I needed a $5 fuse 😂 thanks for the help 👍🏼
This solved my issue for a 5500. Wiggled it for now. My fan would blow weak, strong, weak with the grid heater and just with long use. Eventually it just stopped after 8 months of this.
Have a 2014 Ram, blower just completely stopped. Checked fuses and all looked good. Pulled the lower plug on blower motor and tested for power, no power to the plug. Didn't pull the blower yet. If the resistor failed will it kill power to the lower plug? Thank you!!
You don’t need to check all your fuses, just the blower motor fuse and relay. If fuse is good, go to the relay and then see if your getting signal from controls into relay and or power out of it. That way you know which side of the circuit the problem is on. Usually if your blower resistor is bad, the blower motor will work in high speed only and won’t work in lower speeds. The one in my truck is a variable resistor so that won’t apply for mine but if your truck has separate speeds then that would be a way to check it
Have something similar going on with my 2013 1500. Started out going out intermittently. Now it just only works on middle and high speed. I changed the entire blower motor and still same problem. And doesn’t blow warm or hot air in the winter. Any advice ?
My blower motor slows down over time, then stops. Or when the vehicle is turned off to get gas or convenience store, the motor will not come. If i leave it off for 5-10 mins while driving it will come back on. Thoughts?
I’ve just noticed my second speed blower stop working, the other 3 speeds work well but when I put 2nd speed it stop like if I turn it off, Any idea to help with this?
I got a 2013 ram 2500 that the blower motor was acting up when I bought it made the dealership replace it and it worked great for just about a year and then started going intermittent all of summer it wouldn't work at all but nw that it's cold down outside it seems to be working intermittent again. So I'm going to try this just not sure where to get the deeper fuse
My 2014 Ram Express suddenly when I turn on the AC there’s a high pitch whine. I adjusted the vents but it’s still there. On Low speed it’s a low whine, high speed it gets louder. Any ideas what this could be?
This used to work for me too and then it stopped "doing the trick". Checked the fuse, found it burnt, replaced it, burnt again. Found bad TIPM connection on the thick blue wire that goes to the blower. Dealer wanted to replace TIPM but just pulled the pin, bent it back in shape and was good to go. Be sure to be gentle as the TIPM connector is easy to break and you're looking at $150+ for a new TIPM Module Connector (G36C42)
I wonder if that's the problem with my Chevy Express day time running lights? They flicker on and off while driving so I just pulled the fuse for them.
@@ThecardoctorTV the daylight running light is the same light as the headlight, just a lower voltage. It comes on automatically when starting the vehicle. I'm just lazy and have been driving it like that for years so it's not a high priority. Maybe someday, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
You forgot it could be the relay the 35amp right next to the fuse. 2 relays control A/C 16 and I think 14 and then the 40amp fuse. You also have the blower motor resister that can go bad located to the left of the blower motor.
Those under hood fuse boxes are a real joke. Put that under the hood in the engine heat, dirt and moisture. No wonder every car maker has issues with those things. Whatever happened to keeping stuff like that in the dry in the passenger compartment? same with ECU’s and modules. Modern engineering at its finest!,
Hey I watched three videos before I got to your channel. You got it to the T. But next time do less explaining of issues and get to the root of the problem. Other than that, 4out of 5 stars.
Thank you for this. Exactly my problem on my 2014 Ram 1500. $5 replacement and good to go. No more intermittent cut outs.

Does it keep popping the fuse?
Not at this time. All is good. Thank you.
I was about to bring my 2015 into the shop tomorrow, and even though it’s under a lifetime Mopar warranty, you saved me a $100 deductible. Thanks.

Did it cut off again?
Thank you, just watched your video and tried what you recommended. Blower is working again, saved me an expensive trip to a mechanic. 😊
Great to hear Anchorage calling. Long time no see. Good tip on intermittent blower with the doctors prescription advised. 😊
Thank you!

Correct. This is the real issue.
Hey my blower is doing this but I believe I'm hearing noise from the actual blower motor

Thanks man, really helped us with our truck. Saved me $400.00.
Thanks for the tip. Replacing the Fuse fixed the blower problem on 2014 Ram1500
We're did you buy fuse please 😢
Thanks soooo much… i’ve been wasting so much time for two weeks trying to figure this out.
Thank you for this video you saved me a lot of heartache
You just fixed my ac problem with this video brother. I appreciate it 🙏
First video I watched and it solved our problem! Thank you! (2014 1500)
Thxs Tim good info on what could drive a diy'er crazy at times...Thxs again.

Great tip Tim ! Thanks for sharing !!
Thanks for watching my vids!
Link to where I can purchase this fuse on line?
Do you have a link for where to order the fuses? Or do you just go to a dodge dealership?
I got a 2013 ram 2500 that the blower motor was acting up when I bought it made the dealership replace it and it worked great for just about a year and then started going intermittent all of summer it wouldn't work at all but nw that it's cold down outside it seems to be working intermittent again. You were spot on, thanks for the knowledge!
Great tip that was exactly what I needed thank you
Thank you. It was very helpful
Bro..thanks for this video!!!
Problem solved!
thanks this started happening to my 13 6.7 cummins fuse link in your video
Thank you my truck had problem like that I change the fuses works,
Thank you
AWESOME TIP TIM THANKS FOR SHARING.
Thank you sir
Thanks,this helped fix my issue.
What would I do if one of the terminals to the fuse is darker than the other? Is that evidence of a hotspot?
Thank you i know my sht and was looking at wiring this helped skip couple things
Thank you 10 million times
My 2014 Ram Express suddenly when I turn on the AC there’s a high pitch whine. I adjusted the vents but it’s still there. On Low speed it’s a low whine, high speed it gets louder. Any ideas what this could be?
Bad blower motor
That's good to know thank you sir.
Glad you watched!
Exelente resolvi mi problema, gracias por compartir
Cool video thumbs up. I hope you are doing well.
Thank you. Doing well.
Perfect I looked over that one like 3 times I pulled the top off and ever stuff
I can smack the bottom of the blower assembly and get the fan back. That would be the blower itself correct?

Probably wiring or switch. Who knows. Might want to do a wiggle test! Good luck.

Whats the location of the relay fuse
Thanks solve my problem

Must be on holidays ,been a while.
Awsome
Hmm crappy fuse fit and vibration = Pain in the ass, or donkey :)
Donkey dooky haha
Great

Agreed, doesnt make a ton of sense. Ive dropped so many
