    Also easy input can impact your oki for some characters. Zeta's SBA with technical input allows her to jump forward and land a J.H on the opponent, but the easy input knocks them much further way and doesn't allow you to do that.

      Same for Gran. You get a safe jump midscreen for doing technical. Easy input still has its uses though especially when you're playing footsies, and looking for a kill. It's a lot easier than buffering 236x2.

      @@Fireblaze3127 Ferry install and Lowain HPA currently have no know differences. Lowain Yggdrasil does 90% on all of it's attacks if you easy input that super.

    Small note about Lowain: Yggdrasil does slightly less damage with all attacks when activated with easy input.

    Some specials or supers actually give better oki when you use their technical inputs, like knocking your opponent down closer to you or extending the duration of their knockdown just long enough to make a proper safejump setup. Not a lot of people talk about this part, but it's there.

      @@bleack8701 who even are the casual players? I am not sure if they even exist. Problem is that fighting games are competitive. If you are playing a fighting game you want to win and not just have a good time (like casuals do) and if you want to win you should be more skillful at the game, so you basically forced to learn the game. Fighting games in their nature are not for casuals, fighting game devs should just accept it and aim at high and mid level players.

      @@iwatchDVDsonXbox360 Just not true. I play a lot of fighting games, I have never actually learned to play any of them. I own almost every tekken but don't know how to do electric wind god fists or kazuyas spinny shit. I don't memorize any combos and barely ever play online.
      I like MKX, really liked Dragonball fighterz and enjoy granblue quite a lot even though I wish the story mode was longer. Soul Calibur 2 is great, and I like 6 even though I don't like the counter thing (reversal edge or something). Im really looking forward to street fighter 6 and maybe ill learn how to do a dragon punch now finally after a few decades of playing fighting games every now and then.

    Actually strimmer easy input Supers DO have lower minimum damage, aka at max scaling. But since GBVS combos are so short you'll never reach that point anyway so easy input essentially has no down sides.

      In general, you won't hit the min damage until you do at least two juggles. So, autocombo > super, or autocombo > juggle > one hit > super won't hit min damage, but as much as autocombo > juggle > 2-3 hits of autocombo > super will start seeing a difference.
      Meaningless for 90% of midscreen combos, but combos that use 2-3 EX moves get an extra ~600 damage from the technical input.

      Well it affects other things too, like the okizeme you get after the Super is over, and also the range at which the cinematic portion of the super will play is smaller on the input version, which can be a big deal and make the super not deal its full damage in certain juggles.

      realistic scenarios i can think of is gran and kat wall bounce 20 year combos then hard input super is way better there than easy input

    In a longer combo, the technical input will do more damage because it scaling less, but raw or one-hit confirm is the same damage.

      Majority of optimal BNB's will end before the damage scaling on Super kicks in. Don't use autocombos.

      @@ANIMEILLUMINATI there's some punishes tho. like zeta's corner combo with with 3 ex specials even without autocombo scales down heavily at the end.
      Actually, I think that's a bug, since easy input supers only scale down in damage if they last available move before combo limit, from my anecdotal testing, anyway

    This after the inexcusably inconsistent buffering for skills and supers, combined with probably just not taking into account the nonexistent deadzone on PS5 controllers is why I do easy input now.

    Djeetas super also does slightly more on the technical input as opposed to easy input. but the damage is negligible. with easy its 3500 with technical its 3700.

      and with the connection online being not that great.. the risk of failing mid input and not finishing it.. I personally will play like a casual player and do the easy one...

      @@Enpatsu393 oh believe me do i know the pain of inputs not reading or dropping. i can't get a decent combo in 90% of the time because it always drops. i've been plagued with up to a consistent 19F lag for the last few days, it SUCKS! they truly do need to fixx the netcode. not only that they need to fix the inputs of -->V--> inputs because almost every time i try to go for one i jump mid input and it messes it up. i've never had that issue in the other fighters i've played. i've never had more trouble doing x2 1/4 circles, and -->V-->'s in my life than in this game.

    I play Ladiva and Bubs so I have to do the technical inputs for supers. Not that I'm not used to doing them already but GBVS is weirdly strict with it's inputs and the weird buffer timing doesn't help.

      I thought it was bullshit, since I could easly pull off 9 /10 dragon punchs offline at worst... but then I went online and could only perform 2-3/10 for some unknown reason. Kinda figured it was the buffering system, but couldnt prove it, so I just suck it up, but guess I wasn't the only one.

    I always go for technical input because I'm not comfortable going for the sixth button during combo. I only do easy input for really tight reversals. I know I put myself at a disadvantage, but playing KOFs for years can make people spin the stick faster it makes slight difference anyway.

    Arcsys is prolly gonna adjust when scaling kicks in to give easy inputs a disadvantage. I cant see them letting this stay a thing. I personally think they should just remove complex inputs for supers, but I dont care either way. It just makes no sense for both sets of inputs to exist right now.

      I think it's good for them to have real inputs only because not all fighting games are going to have it, so it's good practice for all players to have that option. Also elitists generally hate games with auto combos and simplified inputs like all the flack Rising Thunder got. Even SFV when you had an extra 1 or 2 frames to do link combos, people thought that made the game too easy. So I definitely see reasons for both inputs, you're rewarded in this game for knowing when to use both and you see it at tournaments a lot. DPs when used to end a combo are technical inputs whereas when used for reversals, player use the simple input.

      I have no issue with easy super inputs, would be fine if they took out complex. I don't want them in every game obviously, but no problem having beginner friendly features in this one.

    The easy input only does less dmg when getting scaled in combo, doing raw input u get same dmg either way, so just easy if you not conboing

      Richard Freeman even certain corner combos still do the same damage. And the game does reward you with the technical input as the video showed you get more damage at certain ranges like with katalina

      I can tell you guys right now that if your combo has more than 8-10 total different moves/normals in it. Always do the real input. Your super damage difference is anywhere between 300-500 depending on the super. It's a big difference. Easiest way to test this is to do your strongest combo with a 2L5LLL starter.

    Easy input when it will either win the match or you're using it as a desperation move.
    Technical input in basically all other scenarios.
    This is how I go about it.

    All supers also do less MINIMUM damage with easy input, which is not something you can figure out if you just do em raw and compare. It's just that, to get to the point in a combo where your super is doing minimum damage you need to do a very long combo, and the difference is only a couple hundred points, so it's not that big of a deal. You wanna combo into supers early in this game anyhow in most situations.

    Damage scaling at the end of combos is really the only time to use it.
    Do a full long corner combo into easy and normal inputs and you see maybe 300 damage difference.

      Also to actually get the animation in combos, Beelzebub SSBA has a much larger range for it on technical input and needs it in some combos for example.

      Shouldn't be doing "Full" combos 99% of the time. Less auto-combos, less hits, earlier Supers is the optimal play.

      @@ANIMEILLUMINATI Yes, apparently. My friends told me so because I only used them in beta to kill or react to others supers, to kill as well, so who cares. If there is no penalty, except the few you point out, now there's no point to stuck to 236236 motions. Will add them back to my scrubby gameplay. Thank you.

    i just think that that is silly, if i hit my super give me my damn damage. it's silly as fuck that some supers are guaranteed the extra damage cut scene and some are not based on range and input.

    Easy input has some pretty big downsides on a lot of Supers that most people don't know about. It will often affect the oki you get after, the damage and even the range at which the cinematic part of the super will activate is lessened on the easy version.

    I think Easy input affects the invincibility frames in Charlotta's SBA. Technical input SBA clashing with Simple input SBA always wins.

      There's a priority/move crush system in the game. Techinal SSBA > EZ SSBA > Techinal SBA > EZ SBA in terms of priority.

    Why do people say "vastiva" when it clearly says "ladiva". Am I just hearing people wrong? Sounds like the game says it too.

      Her name in the Japanese version is "Fastiva" and in English it's "Ladiva". Not sure why they changed it, but I say Japanese names a lot because I usually read JP FG Twitter/News and am used to the JP Names.

    Try to perform a max combo dmg of any character then do super moves in the end and compare easy and technical input dmg

      Max scaling does not mean max damage. Testing it now, if you scale your combo by using auto-combos the technical will do 300~ more. But if you do max damage/optimal routes, there's no difference.

      Also she might not get special hitbox properties/knockdown properties like other players get. Apparently there are some dmg scaling properties too, this game has yet to be extensively labbed, dustloop wiki is one of the best resources we have right now

    Not 100% sure but I think for Percival SSA animation range is also reduced when using easy input.

      There are different hit box properties with a lot of the easy input vs regular input with some of the SBA SSBA's but I wouldn't say it's universal. Also knockdown properties as well.

      But the problem is this, people are pretty sure and spread the info all over discord etc without testing like this guy, yes he should have run more scenarios to test out more things but he probably made this video because of the overwhelming belief that all supers deal less damage in every scenario with the real input and he showed that it was false like the overwhelming belief that simple input on Katarina's super could not get the animation when that isn't true either, it just has a tighter range

      Test your BNB's out. If your combo is doing different damage based on the Input, then you're scaling your combo too much. Find something more optimal.

      If you plan to transfer to another fighter after GBVS, learning to do technical inputs is actually an advantage.

      @@ANIMEILLUMINATI it's not. The mechanics of this game are horrible. Either go full simple jack a la Power Rangers Grid or have both but at least scale damage. Why have simple AND command inputs if you get the same results? Cool down periods? So? I get it at least 2 more months before the complaints start rolling in...

      @@bruceleeds7988 if you watched the video then you would have seen that SBA's damage in terms of easy input vs technical input are different depending on the character and also have different properties. Kat's technical SBA has more range for the cinematic to activate than the easy SBA and the cinematic adds 1000 more damage. Also technical inputs have more priority than easy inputs and as you mentioned, they have reduced cooldown. Pretty sure what the devs intended with having both inputs in the game is for the player to use them both instead of sticking with on type.

      @@bruceleeds7988 and that's completely fine. Ig GBFVS is just very different from other FGs but I wouldn't know much since I just got into FGs very recently.
