Genius design with the squared off point for matching the diagonal seam ! Excellent tutorial. Thank you!
I've made many of these. But it's been a while, so I just watched the video again and picked up a few more pro tips. Thank you, Leanne.
Thank you so much Leanne. As a novice bag maker this tutorial has taught me a lot and I look forward to making this bag. Your fabric,as always, beautiful.
Thank you for clarifying the difference in the seam allowances for different zippers. I use #3 but they are wider then regular ones so they are the same size as a #5. A lot of designers don’t include this alternative in their patterns. You’re awesome Leanne! Thanks for such a cute pattern!
Thank you for the tutorial and the free pattern! I've seen some beautiful results on Facebook and can't wait to make this! You have have a couple of tricks that I had never seen before - the clipping of the boxed corners and the opening of the seams at the top of the bag - great ideas!
First time watching your video, love your ease and patient style. Thanks for the free pattern, yes I subscribed.
Thankyou so much, these comments do mean a lot 💓
Thank you so much for this free pattern and tutorial. I finished my first one today and even with my unintentional design adjustments it has turned out great, definetly wont be my last!!
Excellent tutorial!!! Thank you so much! You really know what you are doing! Love your lesson.
Great tutorial! I a m new to sewing and I watched this carefully because I thought I made a mistake. You clarified it when you said the outside and the liners weren't the same size. Whew!
Thank for a well explained tutorial.
glad it could help you 😊
Thank you
I just bought this today. Guess what I'm making this weekend.
Going to add two strap connectors for shoulder strap so my 5yr granddaughter. She'll love it.
my daughter asked me exactly the same thing if she could have one turned into a bag 🥰
Thank you Leeanne! Love and appreciate your tutorials!
Thank you for a lovely pattern

Cute! Thanks
Love, love, love this pouch and your tutorial!!! I must make 1 today!!! I can see many in my future! 🔮🔮🔮
Great pattern and I do a lot of different things I add now but am just curious as to why there is no instructions on adding the D rings tabs for the strap.
thank you so much, i sew this pattern today 😉😉
Thanks Leanne.
Thanks for the video. Would love to see how you actually cut the fabric/vinyl according to the pattern. Right from the start. Thanks again
I never comment but I really wanted to thank you for an amazing video tutorial!! I just downloaded your pattern and can't wait to try making this!! (I'm new to sewing but have been doing a few projects here and there and want to tackle something like this next!!). I've just subscribed to your videos because I can tell I'm going to appreciate all of your bits and lessons.
Thankyou for taking the time to comment. I've got a few videos in my guides section and will hopefully add some more. Have you joined us over on the Facebook group?
@@craftedbyleanne1549 yes! I just joined the FB group and am just blown away by all the talent. I can tell it's a great group of people and look forward to learning so much more :) Thank you!
Great tutorial and pattern thanks 😊 I'm looking forward to making a harlequin of some kind. Could I follow this tutorial for the main part of the crossbody bag please?
Apologies, missed this notification. You can follow this for all zipper varieties or the Harley video can be used for the flap version
Thank you! This looks quick and easy. When you say “regular seam allowance”, do you mean a 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch or some other width? Thank so much!
apologies its 3/8" for all of my patterns
Thank you . I will remember that
Loving the pattern, one question do you have to make pattern pieces larger? Getting ready to make one thank you
sorry do you mean can you make them larger?
Thank you for this beautiful pattern! I’m about to make my first one. What thread do you like to use for the top and the bobbin on your vintage Singer? I’ll be sewing these on my vintage Kenmore so it’s a pretty heavy duty machine like yours.
I think I sewed this one on my singer heavy duty and I used coats moon thread. If you are in the patterns group feel free to pose it as a question as I'm not too clued up on vintage machines sorry
Great pattern & tutorial. Your vinyl looks really nice and sews well. Could you share where you purchase your vinyl from. Thanks!
It's the best I've found called swafing mora, only downside is limited colours. You can purchase it in the UK from Sew Hot or in Canada from Emmaline 😊
@@craftedbyleanne1549 thank you
How long is the zipper for this pouch. I have the pattern but can’t see how long to cut the zipper?
@@petrinalangdon4643 The standard sized pouch needs an 8.5" zipper
@@craftedbyleanne1549 thank you!
Hi I can get the patterns tq
I am wanting to make the tote and pouch as a gift for a friend. I see that the pouch is offered free in the sew along, but I am happy to pay for it if it is still available?
@mpikeauthor. the pouch is still free, the easiest way to download it is on a site called sew modern bags
Why don't you show any instructions for the d ring tabs?
There aren't d-ring tabs in the written instructions but I do cover them in a different video on the Harlequin playlist
Can you tell me what type of thread you used in that machine to sew the pouch. Thanks
Just standard moon thread for me 😊
i would love this pattern where can i find it i joined the group but my request is still pending help please ;)
Apologies on the lateness, fb didn't send me a notification. You're in the group, if you got to the featured posts there are links to the free files
i got it thank im excied to make them all @@craftedbyleanne1549
It says a free pattern, but I can’t find it for free. I am a member. Please tell me how to get the pattern.
its pinned to the top of the Facebook page and its in the fb files too
Hello Leanne what sewing machine do you have ? Thanks Pam
I use a singer heavy duty in all of the videos although I have just upgraded today to a HD9
What size needle are you using and is that faux leather?
I'm using a 90/14 needle on faux leather 😊
@@craftedbyleanne1549 thank you
I would love to have this pattern, but I don't have Facebook! Is there another way?
What thread do you use when you make the Harlequin pouch in this video? Thanks!
Hiya, I use coats moon thread for this one
Hi, what's the size of the zip please?
All measurements are in the instructions
What is the "regular length" stitch? Thank you!
its 3/8" or 1cm. apologies I missed it off
@@craftedbyleanne1549 What I'm asking is if the stitch length is 2.5, 3.0, or something else. Thanks!
oh I see sorry I misunderstood. I use a 2.5 on the cotton parts, 3.0 for the faux leather and 3.5 ish for top stitching. These are just my personal preferences
@@craftedbyleanne1549 Thanks for answering my question!
Pls give the measurements
Do you mean the final size?
I believe you are using the Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine. What do you think of it as a purse machine?
I've used it on all of my patterns and its been great, just remember to remove bulk where possible. I have just purchased a HD9 to cover all of the things that the singer struggles with.
Please keep your phone on your mouth so the mic captures wind in every word you say.the wind will add flare to your voice
sorry, no fancy set up here. All recording is done on my phone. No sure what you mean about wind?
Thank you
