- Here is the video that I said I was going to do on my new feeders for my Quail. These have considerably less feed waste than anything else that I have tried.

great idea, reduces waste a LOT, and you can fill container much more!
Yes. It really makes a difference.
I know nothing about this stuff but that looks pretty good 👍
Thank You, I've built most of our equipment.
It's been a year, i copied yours and still had a huge waste problem. I have realized that the 2" port is too big. I ordered more ports but got 1.5" this time and it worked much better for me.
Thanks for letting me know. I am rebuilding one of my cage systems and making some upgrades that I wanted to try and I will order the 1.5" ports to try. I have noticed a significant reduction in waste since I changed over to these 2" ports but I'm willing to try the other size if it works better. These birds seem to find ways to waste food regardless of what I do but each time I try something new, the wasted food is less and less. Thanks for the tip and I hope to be able to start posting videos again soon. Things have really been hard with taking care of my wife now that she has lung cancer. I just haven't had the time or the energy lately to shoot videos, her cancer has been spreading instead of going away.
I've been purdy happy but had other quail people tell me a 1" hole would even be better!
BTW, I found some 2.5 liter "cereal containers " on Amazon. Taller, smaller footprint and hold even more feed!
I wonder if he has some for smaller quail
He has them in 2 different sizes. 1.5" and 2". The ones that I am using are the 2" ports. They work great for all of my birds. I start my birds on them when they are 4 weeks old. Before that while they are in the brooder, I use the long red plastic feeders.
There are other sellers that make different sizes on etsy and ebay
@@OEFveteran2010 I will have to look again. So far, I haven't seen any available that are less than 1.5" but that doesn't mean they aren't out there.
@@kaylesquailfarm the link i sent goes from a 1 inch to 4 inch hope that helps
@@OEFveteran2010 I think youtube prevented your link from showing up. I think 1" is the smallest I've seen so far too.
