it's been at least, before COVID that I last tuned in, but I found you again, and thank you ever so much. You are generous with your knowledge and a pleasure to watch and listen to.
Thank you for this tutorial. A lot of tutorials are so hard to understand but you are super clear and thorough. Can’t wait to start sewing more projects now that I know how to use my machine properly.
I tried your last step of turning the wheel to bring the bobbin thread up through the plate beneath the presser foot. Doing this caused the top thread to get caught below in the machine. After an hour or trying to follow the directions, I finally realized this is a quick-set bobbin (by watching someone else's video), not requiring that last step! I tried just loading the bobbin as explained, began sewing, and it worked perfectly! So there was no need to try to bring that bobbin thread up.
Thanks so much for this excellent tutorial! I just said goodbye forever to my 30-year-old BabyLock. What a great machine it was. Alas, at this point it would cost more to service and repair it than to just buy a new one. It made lots of clothes and curtains and journals. My new Brother was delivered today! I’m sitting here reading the manual but it’s so nice to have some videos from someone who already has a Brother Runway.xxLynn
Thank you for these tutorials. I haven't used my machine in a while and I don't know where my manuals are after a move so the videos are a fantastic reminder.
Your video has been so helpful!!! I own the project runway CE1125PRW and I was able to load the thread and bobbin with your help! The first time I did have a friend help me, but then I had to change colors and do it myself... so I rewatched your video. I like how precise and detailed you are.
Thank you! I did it. I bought the CE7070PRW 3 years ago, and it was still setting on a shelf! Hopefully, I'll get the top right, and hem my jeans. Thanks for being such a great teacher.
I got this machine for Christmas. last night I used it for the first time. I've always had a sewing machine all my life. been sewing since 8 years old. I'm almost 60 now. THIS MACHINE WAS THE DICKENS!!!! IT TOOK ME AN HOUR to figure out how to keep the thread from tangling up on the little spool holder peg and then how to get the bobbin to thread up through the foot feet I would bring it around and it cut the thread off and I went OH NO why is this thing doing this? It was a holy terror. ( I wouldn't recommend this machine to anyone I was thinking to myself), I'm going to throw this out the window. LOL But then, I thought I'm going to go to you tube and see if i can find a video for this devil. THANK YOU SO MUCH for showing me what I was doing wrong. After I got it going it sewed beautifully. I got so excited that I could sew again (Lost all my things in the Harvey flood in 2017 including my home) I was up until 3:00 in the morning sewing all kinds of stuff and putting decorative stitches on my tea towels and I even monogrammed a small doily I had. So Ladies don't give up on this little brother machine watch the video and you'll see it isn't really as hard as the BOOK MAKES IT OUT TO BE!! That book was written by a man I swear hahahahahaha. Gonna go start on a new quilt now.
Bless you. I’ve been reading the instructions for an hour trying to thread this thing. It wasn’t making sense to me. You fixed me up in two short videos. I’m a brand new sewer. Lol

Boy do I feel like a doofus!!! I was using this machine for this first time and it was giving me fits!!! I had watched video after video, trying to find the solution to the problems I was having. I started watching your video with the attitude of "I don't know why I'm even watching this, I've been sewing for 20+ years. I already know quite well how to thread and load the bobbin." But suddenly something you said caught my attention. I backed up the video and watched again and realized I was putting the bobbin in BACKWARDS!!! The way I was putting in the bobbin made it turn clockwise! I went to my machine, put the bobbin in the way you explained, and VIOLA!!! Thank you so much!!!
I know this video is a couple years old, but you just SAVED me. I was trying to use the wrong kind of bobbin and it was making me NUTS!!! THANK YOU~~~~~
I know this is 3 years old now but... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I really needed a tutorial for it at this moment! It saved my head and my sewing machine from disaster! THANKS A MILLION! (I have a few years experience from teen living but I JUST got back to this specific sewing machine after a little more than a year of not sewing with it at all.) (P.s. I'm just 18 and now I'm ready to conquer sewing again!)
Great video. I had problems following the directions given with the machine and this video was very helpful. Still having problems getting the bobbin area open since the little thing to push to right doesn't open the area where bobbin goes. Is this a concern for anyone else?
A little ditty I learned in Home Ec class in 1977...if you remember these terms in order, you can always thread any sewing machine. Spool pin, guide, tension, guide, take-up lever, guide, guide, needle. I appreciate this tutorial, because I bought this machine, but it doesn't spin the bobbin like older machines and I keep getting stuck on this step in my projects!!!
Thanks very much for this tutorial. I've been sewing on a machine since I was eight years old, and never have I experienced such frustration!!! This machine is the devil. I've had it a while and have not been able to sew anything significant on it yet. Yesterday, for many hours, I fought to thread this machine. I left it last night with both top and bottom threaded, but unable to connect. I think maybe I was turning the wheel the wrong way, away from myself, to pick up the bobbin thread. Once more into the breach!!! Thanks.
+glittermama oh No! That's so weird because this one gets such a good review. My mom used mine yesterday and said it's better than her 3k sewing machine! Did you figure it out? Are you saying it wouldn't turn on?
I couldn't pick up the bobbin thread--your video helped me understand that I was turning the wheel forward when I should have been turning it back, towards me. Thanks!!

For whatever reason, I have a lot of the metal bobbins and only a few plastic ones. I kept trying and trying with the metal bobbin and it just would not work. Then I used the plastic one, and right off the bat, it worked!!! The directions are right on the top of the machine as well, but I thought I was doing something wrong..
I love this video, thanks so much for the info! I keep having a problem with the bobbin getting stuck and not coming up with the top thread. I can't figure out what the problem is, I'm doing everything just as you did
When she loaded the bobbin she put the thread under the gray plastic "finger", pulled it to the left and around the path to the cutter, and cut it off. The thread does not have to be brought to the top when you do it this way. You can just thread the needle with your top thread and start sewing. If you want to bring up the bobbin thread manually, don't cut the bobbin thread at the cutter, leave it sitting at the top curve of the gray plastic path, and pull it up holding on to the needle thread and making the needle go down and then up. The needle thread will catch it and pull up a loop of bobbin thread.
Thank You!! So helpful! I've watched other tutorials on how to wind this bobbin with no luck. The tension was never correct. Your information was perfect!
