Thank you for all these great tips! One thing though-if you ever sew garments please change your needle, you’ll find a dull needle may damage your fabric because it won’t go through cleanly. I’m going to mark one of my needles just for paper :)
Oh, wow. Your sewing machine is now $189.00 on Amazon!!! Our daughter wanted to get one about a year ago and she couldn't find a Brother sewing machine ANYWHERE! I do sew on paper and I did order a #14 needle because I sometimes sew my signatures together with my Brother sewing machine, so I need a heavier needle. I LOVE sewing fabric on paper!
Whenever I have to rethread my bobbin I always have to look at your earlier video for this!! It was so much easier to follow along with your tutorial, than read the Brother booklet that came with my machine. I highly recommend your tutorial on threading this machine, too!! THANKS!!
This helped me so much! Just started this type thing today! So excited 🎉. I have never sewed before as well. It’s been fun today trying this out! I love it already!!
Omg....I keep searching sewing on paper and couldn’t ever find anything. I’m a sewer but thought there was some major technique and hadn’t had time to figure it out. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your excellent tips and easy tutorial. I bought a brother CP60X specifically to use with my tags and scrapbooking and junk journaling.. but I was kind of intimidated by the sewing.. especially the bobbin part! I will have to look at your video on that. but thanks for all the basic tips! I needed that!! :)
Thank you so much for these great tips!! I just started making my very first JJ and sewed the edges on a really cute paper. Not knowing all these tips, I just sewed it like normal. Was not a good thing to do. The edges ripped right off :( I haven't sewn on paper since.... Now I will give it another try and set my stitch length to 2.5. Thanks again!!
Nice tutorial my new sewing machine has been sitting in the box for quite awhile I haven't sewn since HS lol. I need to start stitching on some of my albums and embellishments.
Thank you so very much . This was so helpful . Also I love the glue tombow stick you use . I’m new to junk journaling and have RA I find the glue pen so easy to hold and it works so well . I have several different types of glue but that one I found on your channel and is such a great one . I just got a brother sewing machine for Christmas, after watching your video I feel comfortable sewing paper now 😄❤️
hi there first i want to thank you for the tips on the video. I have never used a sewing machine, I recently started and honestly, I have no idea what I am doing. my machine for some reason is not stitching the same stitch to the top and bottom of the paper, I cannot figure it out and I need someone like you who may know what's going on. I use a Brother CS-5000H do you have any idea what can cause this problem? thank you so much for any help you can provide
I didn’t realize not to back stitch , I fold over paper and to make it a pocket and stitch the ends so should I back stitch in that case? I apologize for all the questions …❤️
Doesn't look like it and she didn't mention that. You would probably only do that if doing applique? or free flow stitching, where you wanted to be able to change direction on the item. I'm not an expert on this technique though. However, just sewing paper, or fabric to paper, as far as I know, you don't need to drop the feed dogs. It's just like normal sewing, except keep the stitches further apart to prevent perforating.
Thank you so much for this tutorial and I plan on watching all your how to sew tutorials. I just got some money for Christmas and I’m thinking about buying a sewing machine with it too so papers like some of you crafters do. The last time I sewed was when I was in eighth grade so I have forgotten how to thread the whole thing. I’m thinking about buying the sewing machine that you have and learning from your tutorials and thank you so very much for sharing. It is helping me .
What is the thread weight and type that you use? I’m totally new. I bought a brother cp2160 and it has an 11 needle installed with the j zig zag foot hold installed. The sales clerks at Joann’s had no idea how to help me. I’m lost 😞
This is the exact kind of video I was looking for. I did have a question about the design of one of the stitches. There is a fairly popular stitch many crafters use that I believe is initially meant for hemmingg. It's a few small zig zags then a big zig zag. I was playing around with my new sewing machine and I found that this look I wanted didn't show up on the front of my paper, but the back! Is this supposed to happen?
That's awesome thank you so much for sharing this!! May I ask you one thing though.. Is there a specific needle you use for paper or any needle would do? Thank you so much ❤️
Great tutorial. Just what I want to learn. Thank you.
When you turn a corner, always make sure the needle is down through the paper, that way the corner doesn't get wonky.
Thank you for all these great tips! One thing though-if you ever sew garments please change your needle, you’ll find a dull needle may damage your fabric because it won’t go through cleanly. I’m going to mark one of my needles just for paper :)
She says, very clearly, she doesn't sew fabric

Thank you! I recently bought a Brother sewing machine but haven’t dived in to using it yet. I feel better about starting now.

It was helpful. Thank you
I love my brother machine. I’m not an expert either but I love sewing in paper
Thank you .. very nice video...hugs from Maryland...
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!!
I was wondering the needle size to sew on paper, a lot of the demos don’t mention. Thank you
Just the "universal" needle usually. Whatever the regular size all purpose needle is for your machine.

Thank you. I'm wondering. It's been a year since your review.. is this machine still going strong?

Can I use my regular sewing machine for sewing paper?
GREAT vid! I was given a sewing machine for Yule and have been too scared to try it. This will definitely help me!

Chipboard or bookboard. Have you done it and do you have any tips?
Great tips and ideas 👍🏻

What number do you put the bottom number that is under the stitch length? I never see you change that number
I didn’t realize not to back stitch , I fold over paper and to make it a pocket and stitch the ends so should I back stitch in that case? I apologize for all the questions …❤️

Do you drop the feed dog

@@Kayenne54 Thankyou
What do you clean with (by the bobbin)?

Do you use polyester thread , I heard it was better to use
Appreciate your video, really great tips.....although I broke 3 needles in a day so I’m guessing I need more tutorials!
You can also glue the start and end of your stitch if you like… (When you’re done sewing)

By the way I love that illustration off to school! What book did you find that at? Thank you for the tutorial …
