Alaric should seriously consider starting a band with these captains.
They don't need me I don't have a horn
Those deep sounds of the ships make you wonder if you can hear them in port cities from Charleston to Gulfport, Savannah to Houston, or even from Mobile to Long Beach.
Maybe the sound carries underwater
Просто супер! От души! Спасибо... Особенно, как в тумане, гудят танкера. Это уже второе видео, такое мне попадается. 👍🔥😊
Я рад, что вам понравилось!
Great to see and hear these beauties and beasts of the lakes! My favorites are the Alpena, Leitch, James Barker, Anderson and her sister's, Blough, Cort, Mich' and many more. I just hope the Valor and Ryerson return. It's been 12 years!
The Sykes gas been laid up because of the economy so I'm losing hope!
@@alaricdogface still, once the virus passes she'll be back in steam.
@@bluerazor7049 yes, it will turn around quickly I hope
Wow, James R Barker,my favourite
The Barker is awesome
The Alpena - what a classic beauty. And thanks for posting this; I've been following you for several years & always love the Captains Salutes mash-up. :) Cheers from south side of Lake Erie.
Cheers!!!
people say she's gonna get scrapped at the end of the season..i really REALLY hope not, because she's my favorite ship and last true steamer and Leon Fraser ship left on the Great Lakes.
Beautiful 👍👍👍👍👍👍
🔊🔉 🔉 !!!
The tug has quite a set of lungs!
Tugs have big engines and loud piercing horns and an "I think I can" attitude! 🔊🔉🔉
Thank you for the video of all the BEAUTIFUL LADIES OF THE LAKES and their AWESOME Salutes!
✊❤️❤️✊
I hope the ladies didn't get too loud!
alaricdogface They can NEVER get too loud. 🙂
@@BrianAchterberg928 🔊🙉📯
I love how you put in the Master Salute from The JRB(0:42)!!
✊❤️❤️✊
I was on the Kaye e barker loved it
I wish the Kaye E Barker would come to Duluth more often so we could see more of her.
The James R barker. One is my favourite
The best of salutes!
@@greatlakefreighters889 it was early in the morning so maybe the captain was trying to be quiet 🤷♂️
0:13 The deep rumble of the horn is something to be desired
Big Paul sounding with authority!
Almost like she’s commanding other smaller ships below
A masterpiece! Thanks for posting! All my favorites!
I'm happy you enjoyed the noise!
Jazmine Walker
@@alaricdogface jazmine Walker
I would like to declare the city of Duluth to be known as “The Charleston of the Northland” because of all the ships coming in and out of Duluth Harbor
I have heard it referred to as the Norwegian Riviera.
Seeing the Anderson still sailing the Great Lakes makes me wonder where the Fitzgerald would be today if she wouldn’t have sank
would've been scrapped in the 80s
Naw they would have converted her to a self unloader
@@alaricdogface no, would've been scrapped because of her condition. She was in bad condition and was abused so.
@@northstarstatepolitics1652 she was already scheduled to get reinforcement plates welded on after that season
Great video! Nice to get all those salutes during one shipping season
It's a crazy big pile of salutes! 🔊🔉🔉😁
The Paul R Tregurtha is my top favorite, although the James R Barker without a doubt is attention grabbing with a horn harmony!
Big Paul has a salute that commands your attention 🔊🔉🔉
Nice! All the best to you dear friend!
Thank you! I hope you are having a great week my dear friend!
Of course, the Midwest does have port cities, such as Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, Duluth, MN, and Toledo.
The St Lawrence Seaway made international ports all the way to the center of the continent 🚢🚢🚢
Good evening sir , thanks for videos but there is corona in my neighbours so I was fear ful
Be careful and stay safe! 😷
@@alaricdogface thanks sir sure , and yes miss yours new videos
The American Mariner is my underdog choice. Other than that other one......what was it??? Ahh, oh yeah.... The Barker.
The American Mariner was supposed to layup here but it took them too long to get out of here 🤷♂️
James R Barker.😊👏👏
🔊🔉🔉!!!
And I liked the ride
That would be awesome
The Port of Duluth
I wonder if the Captain on JRB likes " honking" as much as people like hearing?
I think he must enjoy putting on a show, at least a little bit. 🔊🔊🔊🔉🔉
Agreed!
Nice compalation. Lucky, you live near duluth so you can see those ore carrying giants
I know how lucky I am that's for sure!
@@alaricdogface lol
Im andrew cuomo and i put covid patients in nursing homes.
The Port of Charleston
They have heard the ship's cannons in Charleston, a very different kind of salute.
👏👏👏VAI CORINTHIANS ZONA LESTE ITAQUERA.
👍👍👍Ship
I like big ships
Please turn down the piano music! Way too loud, can’t hear the horns! But love the show!
There aren't any horns on these clips, it's just a compilation of video that never got used over the season.
big ship
This ship is 16 minutes long!😁
@@alaricdogface ?
16 minutes ?
Just joking because the video length
10:43 gotta be one of my favorites of all with the 2 short being a single horn
And 12:09 I love mixed salutes
It was cool when the Blough mixed it up.
4:06 It sounds like it was screaming 😕
Another tug and barge combo ship
@@alaricdogface Oh
at 13:49 its sounds like a boat here in Charleston called the Spirit of Carolina, stuck horn and all. i guess that horn combination really has issues.
th-cam.com/video/VVOzx1Vg-E8/w-d-xo.html
That one is a tug and barge combination so they have that tugboat horn sound.
12:12 oops the barker horn broke i think
I'm thinking the captain might have been trying to be quiet since it was early morning.
