  • Here's how to remove an engine and transmission from a Honda Accord with the K24 4 cylinder engine.
Removing the engine or transmission is most easily accomplished by removing it as an assembly and then separating them outside the vehicle. This must be done if rebuilding the engine or transmission, or swapping them for an upgrade.
To remove the assembly the following items should be removed: shift cables, coolant and vacuum hoses, battery & tray, air box, wires connecting to the body, exhaust, axles, radiator and engine mounts. Once its clearly disconnected, the engine/transmission assembly can be lifted out the top of the vehicle with an engine crane / hoist.
Engine and transmission can be done with common hand tools that can be purchased here:
    Impact Wrench:
    amzn.to/3qO1r69 (US)
    amzn.to/377Xguj (Canada)
    Engine hoist
    amzn.to/2W4FFgj (US)
    amzn.to/3ngx5XW (Canada)
    Impact sockets:
    amzn.to/2IFrpaQ (US)
    amzn.to/2JXognl (Canada)
    Breaker bar:
    amzn.to/377mCIF (US)
    amzn.to/3nfHEdY (Canada)
    Angled needle nose pliers:
    amzn.to/3oNZo03 (US)
    amzn.to/3oWImxd (Canada)
This car in this video is a 2003 Honda Accord with a 4 cylinder engine and manual transmission. Removal procedure should be similar for the Acura TSX and RSX, Honda CR-V, Civic, Element and Accord from the mid to late 2000's.
This is the Camera I use:

Sorry, but a speedkar99 video is just not the same if it is less than 5 minutes, and the toothbrush does not make a "clang" when tossed into the engine bay. Just sayin'

What about the shifter cable that goes into the transmission how do you get that mf out

    • @speedkar99
      @speedkar99  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Doesn't it just unbolt and you leave the cables in the car?

@@speedkar99 thanks for responding so fast I'm working on it right now but I undid the 3 bolts holding the plate that came off fine but I'm assuming the actual rubber boot around the cable is still stuck somehow 😅

    Never listen to amateur !
    E.g.
just releasing the AC like he does is a felony in many western countries.
People like him are destroying the reputation of the industry.

Boo-hoo call Captain Planet. This isn’t 1980s Freon anymore, it’s R134a which is completely benign by comparison
