I breed orchids professionally. People online keep saying "I want an animal that's exotic, pretty, that I can have on display and brag about but I don't want to pay attention to it" you don't want an animal, you want a plant.
they still wouldn't take care of the plant lol-. probably a plastic one at best. from, a non-professional person who just has two plants and am about to celebrate the first one's birthday
they’re just like “wow tiktok vets ruin everything” and say “it’s their pet they can do what they want” people have kids and have the right to raise them how they believe, but if they’re being abused people are going to try their best to help
@@whamloverfr It’s like they don’t view pets as actually living and think that they’re toys. If you said “it’s his girlfriend he can do what he wants” people would obviously get mad because it’s an awful thing to say. If only they applied that logic to animals
A group of guys at my school went to a petstore one day and bought a pufferfish for a fricking tiktok. They took it back to school in a plastic bag after making the tiktok. I felt so bad for it, and told them this wasn't a good idea. Im a very shy person so its hard for me to confront people, but knew I'd feel horrible if wouldn't have said anything. They asked me if they could just release it in a pond near our school which is fresh water- this was a SALT WATER puffer... I kept on carefully convincing them to bring the puffer back to the store, and got support from my friends/teacher. Eventually they did. I don't get how people can be so careless with animals..
good on you for standing up for that poor fish! its so depressing how little people know about animals, yet they still buy them. (also, I could have sworn that pufferfish are insanely expensive- why would you buy such an exotic animal just for a video???)
@@althefroggy516 thank you so much! Yeah they can be quite expensive, it also depends on the species.. However these kids have entitled parents, who do not care how their kids spend their allowance ;/
I saw a video of a guy putting 3 phones around a frog and putting music at full volume and full brightness of a cyclone and they were JUST LAUGHING! LIKE, STOP THAT
"There's only one person who did this right and it's Jenna Marbles!" Not only did she attach the balloons to a sling and do it inside but she tested with a dumbbell first, she tethered Marble to the sling in case he tried to get out, she made sure he was comfortable and he actually loved being in the air. And despite ALL OF THAT, when she did her video purge she took that down because she didn't want people replicating it without the same safety considerations.
Fish abuse is so normalized. It makes me hella angry. When I was younger I always went over to this one house in my neighborhood. The boy that lived their was 2 years older and he had a whole tank with lots of fish. We weren't really friends. I just came over to watch his fish. It didn't bother him, because even if he had other friends over, I only watched his fish. When one of them died. He called me and we cried together. His mom was like "It's just a fish", but she never understood the bond we had with this fish. It was like their were my own pets so yeah😔😔 That's why I hate ppl treating fish or any other animals like they can just buy a new one!!!
My brother has a fish and he never feeds it. It has fin rot, (most likely I'm not an expert) which is causing his fins to fall apart. He doesn't care about him and it pisses me off. I feed him and clean his tank. Love the guy, I know betas live short lives, but I feel a connection with him 💖🐠
i literally cried at the puppies surrounded by those crayfish. i cant even imagine how traumatizing it was for those poor babies. they put in the caption "who will save me and my bro?" and added "follow for more!" HOW ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. why would i "follow for more" animal abuse??? i am truly disgusted and terrified. Edit: Crayfish, not Lobsters.
I think those were crawfish. Either way, they shouldn't be putting puppies in an uncomfortable situation like that. They obviously wanted to get out of that situation as soon as possible, as you can hear from their whining.
anyone who puts a hamster in a pool has never come out to their barn and found a poor mouse or chipmunk drowned in just a barn-animals water-bowl. its really stressfull for them and even if they could figure a way out they get so stressed they just swim frantically until they cant anymore and then they drown. i mean the people are there to take them out before they drown in this situation (hopefully) but that doesnt negate the amount of stress it puts them in to be in that situation.
When I was a kid I left a bucket outside once and it filled up with rain. I found it a couple days later with a dead mouse and two dead birds inside. It's been like more 15 years and I still think about it and get sad. I never left a body of water without a stick in it ever since.
@@Nextgenn223 This is only vaguely related but if you could put it away somewhere when not in use it would benefit everyone involved c: You/your family won't have to worry about cleaning bugs and pollen (or, evidently, dead mice ._. ) out of it as much, less things drown in it, and you don't end up accidentally letting your dog drink old stagnant water (stagnant water builds up bacteria and such fairly quickly, so you don't really want to leave the same water sitting in a bowl for too terribly long; I forget the _exact_ "limit" on how long water can be safely left in a pet bowl tbh, but it shouldn't be in there for more than a day for sure, and that's likely pushing it a bit). Not trying to tell you what to do, just like to share tiny bits of advice :p
11:25 I’ve been reading a sci-fi horror short story written in the 80’s I think which had a scene EXACTLY LIKE THIS. The story features a sadist animal collector who acquires hundreds of intelligent bugs to make them fight each other. When he gets bored with that, he buys a puppy and films how the insects tear it apart, then shares the footage with his friends. HOW DID TIK TOK END UP FAITHFULLY REPLICATING A GROSS HORROR CONCEPT ?!! Scary as ffffffffff
I had a hamster when I was little, I didn’t drop her, she was VERY tame. I once tripped over her while she was in her ball, she was running around in it, & I accidentally tripped over her. I was scared I hurt her & was close to tears for tripping over her. That owner laughing as they dropped their hamster was the worst way to react to their hamster getting hurt, that was so sickening to watch.
Oh I heard hamster balls aren't good for hamsters as they could easily get hurt in them. Just wanted to tell you about you probably already know by now.
@@RemHayden1806 when she was in her hamster ball she really happy, nobody was around her like nothing would be in her way when she was in that hamster ball. She knew her way around the house & she knew where she wanted to go.
It's bad for them cause the low circulation of air can cause respiratory problems and they can get their nails stuck in the small holes. Its best to just carefully watch a hamster free range! No shame for not knowing as a child tho theres always time to do research if you ever plan on getting one again!:)
ADF owner here!!! That’s not an adf :•} African drawf frogs are way smaller & skinnier! That’s an African clawed frog !! You can tell because it’s so much bigger & the legs are fat they’re commonly mistaken but there’s major difference
I once won a goldfish at the carnival when I was 7 and kept it in a bowl with no filter or anything (it was a tiny bit curved but not much) and we saw it was bad for it so we gave it to my friend who had a big fish tank with a filter and everything and my fish got like 4 times bigger! Rest in peace little guy :_)
One reason that animal abuse is so easy to see on TikTok is because even if you report it, most of the time they don't do anything about it. It's horrible and makes me upset.
@@StarrNOM Oh, that absolutely horrible! I feel like TikTok only cares if a person is specifically inflicting injuries onto their animals, even though there are many different ways of animal abuse. I hate the ones where people decide to record their pets being hurt and just laughing because TikTok usually finds those to be fine.
I saw a video where a woman that breeds snakes and other reptiles when to a local lake that was invaded by goldfish. She was catching them to feed to larger reptiles she had but these goldfish were massive. Like bigger then her hands massive.
I've done some math to prove the suffering of that poor hamster... I'm guessing that it is a roborovski hamster based on the characteristic of the fur... Which they grow an average of 5 cm, and average women's height is 160, and they dropped him from around her chest so let's say it's 150 from the chest to ground.... For us humans she would suffer from falling 48 meters high, which is definitely enough to inflict serious injuries. Not to mention the hamster fell on the back... So yes please handle animals with care and precaution.
That's fine and all but that's not how physics works. A person falling from 48 metres is going a lot faster when they hit that sudden stop. A hamster may be fragile and it may be awful in itself to drop it 1.5 metres but basic 1 to 1 size comparisons like this don't really work, there's a lot of variables to take into account, and some constants.
As an ethical hamsterbreeder (hamstery Phaléne) I just stay away from hamster TikTok. People just don’t know anything. Hamsters do not see depth (they use their whiskers) so you should always hold them tight and safe. In stressful situations they’ll just jump to their death...
Once I saw a 6 year old on tiktok showing off her hamster but she was holding it with her FIST, her fingers around the hamster which was most likely squeezing him, it made me so mad, the account got banned for animal cruelty after I called them out, but I feel like their parents should have educated them on how to hold a hamster and her account wouldn’t have been terminated :( but no one could educate her on how to properly hold a hamster in the comments because she had her comments turnt off
@@MILKWAYSHAKER I do not agree with you. What you are talking about is fixating. It is a super safe way to hold hamsters. Of course, people with no experience tend to do it a bit clumsy or weird, but it doesn’t hurt them. I always fixate my hamsters. They cannot in any way harm themselves by falling (they don’t see depth). Please visit my instagram @hamsteryphalene to see what I mean by fixating.
I'm on hamste tik tok the good side and there was a good hamster owner but she had to give her hamster away for personal reasons lowkey still miss that hamster
I think the hamster went into shock temporarily and that's why he stopped moving, his heart may have even stopped for a second. My heart goes out to that hamster, who likely is not still with us.
Ive fallen straight on my back and it knocked the breath out of me. I bet that’s what happened to that poor hamster. Poor thing, those boys need their asses kicked
I have two dogs and a cat now, but I used to have hamsters. I remember when I learned that the cages I had them in were WAY too small that I felt SO guilty. I can't imagine how these people can treat these animals like this and not care at all.
Animal abuse is one of those trends where people don’t really know what they are doing but it is still cruel no matter what and it just breaks my heart to see this
it has been a trend for thousands of years , the meat industry has existed for a very long time , but people are hypocrites , they're first to say "this tiktok is bad it's animal abuse" and then eat a steak
I saw a tiktok of a girl dropping two hamsters from the top of her bunkbed so i reported it and it actually got removes pretty fast. but her account is still up so clearly tiktok doesn’t really care
If she has her location shared try to report it to local animal welfare organisations instead. They can use the video as evidence and potentially get them rescued
that a good idea, I know she's dutch so I could do that but the video is already removed so I have no proof to show them. but il keep an eye on her account for if she ever posts something like that again. thanks, I honestly hadn't thought of that
WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK How could someone be so cruel and heartless!? My last hamster fainted after falling off the couch, I can't imagine what condition those poor hamsters are in that fell from a f*cking bunk bed
The scariest thing I ever had to do as a pet owner was bathe my rabbit after she got a bucket of elmer's glue dumped on her (it was on a self and got bumped off). I physically sobbed and kept saying I was sorry. My brother, dad and I all worked to make sure it was as quiet as possible so she didn't die of shock. I have no idea why ANYONE would put their rodent in water willingly. It breaks my heart...
When my family had a rabbit (she lived to be about 8 I believe), she kept having poo build up on her bottom and it would get hard (to the point where it would hurt her), so we had to bathe her every month. But still, we only bathed her bottom, made sure she had a towel to grip onto, and kept the water warm and very low so she wouldnt panic. That (and emergency situations) are the only times I can imagine bathing a rabbit would be necessary.
@@gingaswagger7969 that sounds like you were taking lovely care of her. sometimes animals just have conditions that make different kinds of care necessary!! she lived a long life and im sure she was happy with you guys
10:28 I had a "shared" animal once, my beardie Vincent. The only reason I moved him between houses was because my mum made him stressed and wouldn't take care of him while I was at my dad's, so I took him with me even though he was a little guy. I wish I could've let him at mums, but thankfully at his vet appointments he wasn't negatively impacted by it. My mum disowned me and thankfully I got my baby back, he's doing well now being able to stay in one terrarium and explore the house on occasion. (Usually I make sure he stays in my room, he explores the whole house when the cats are at the vet)
I know. Tiktok has a bad reputation because of a few people who make bad content but I've seen such amazing stuff and found really cool people on tiktok. You just gotta filter out the bullshit first.
@@umbrellahat True! But I imagine TikTok being awful for kids. I’ve seen so many people considering TikTok a kids app when it’s clearly 12+ (yes 12 years old is considered a child but it isn’t as young as some of the audience of this type of content)
@@Mutilated_existence Yeah I think you're supposed to be 12 or 13 to even sign up for it. It's not for kids, but I think teenagers are ok. I mean, you gotta find out about the world outside your town sometime and in my experience the internet is a great way to do that.
It took one Google search for me find out although hamsters can swim they despise swimming, they're used to to dry and warm environments. It took ONE search to find that it's very distressing and traumatic for that animal.
I once accidentally dropped my hamster on their back, I felt so guilty and never told anyone about it, so I'm confused to why people do these things on purpose and not feel bad?
When I was a kid maybe around 6, I accidentally dropped a lollipop on my dwarf hamster. Its fur got stuck and my mom had to cut some fur off of it. I literally cried for like a week in guilt. I dont get how people can intentionally hurt an animal.
I dropped my hamster twice, felt bad, then my hamster bit my dad and he accidentally flinched and dropped her, felt bad, then the last time she fell was when she escaped her cage for a day and (probably) fell off the table I kept her on, felt bad, and we found her. She is surprisingly alright! I’m not saying to drop your hamsters on purpose but mine has survived 4 falls with no broken bones. REMEMBER, I NEVER DROPPED HER ON PURPOSE IT WAS ACCIDENTAL
Why do hamsters get dropped so much? My first hamster I dropped because I didn't know how to handle her, but my current girl (who I love to death) jumped unexpectedly from my hand at 5 ft high - she never jumped before and I was still and quiet. From my experience, it's the number one reason for hamster deaths.
The first TikTok had a video defending it saying that “hamsters can get wet and swim and a lot of them love it and need it it’s just some don’t” I was like ..... how many hamsters have you killed ma’am
@@aniyasimmons8731 Oohhhhh ok thank you. I was wondering what was so wrong with the first one, I honestly thought it was cute. I've never owned hamsters before and don't really plan on it, but if you own one you should know this....

I saw a tik tok that was how to make your cat lose weight, but they literally gave the cat like, 10 pieces of food. I commented saying, " THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DIET AND STARVING". I'm happy to say that everybody else in the comments were saying how they were starving the cat. More good news is tik tok deleted it. Now, I have my cat and she was overweight when we got her. We've had her on a diet and she's perfectly fine. She has 2 meals a day, at night and in the morning. If she asks for food, I'll give her a treat or offer her what I'm eating. We aren't giving big amounts of food, but they aren't small enough to keep her hungry. We give her just the right amount as the shelter suggested us to. So please, DON'T STARVE YOUR CATS WHILE PUTTING THEM ON A "DIET"
specially since Fat cats that suddenly have restricted diets are at great risk to develop hepatic lipidosis, you have to gradually reduce their food intake and make sure they get plenty of exercise to get that calorie deficit you need.
and sometimes, it might be the pet's food itself and not the quantity, some pet food is fatty or filled with corn and filler that just makes them gain weight. Excersise is important too, give them a big space or take them to a big space to let them explore more cause most dogs like to explore new places and a big place would be perfect start to let them excersise by letting them wander around and check the place out.
I live in an area where fish are so misunderstood. When I said I wanted a 30 gallon tank, everyone was shocked and asked why I didn't want to just get a 5 gallon for a couple of fish since it's so much cheaper than a 30 gallon. I'm constantly explaining what little knowledge I know. (Don't worry I don't have fish yet, I'm still doing research to better understand them since I've grown up with so many misconstrued ideas of what fish need.) Pet care has really been evolving over the years though and I'm glad there's more access to educational material than just what Petco/Petsmart says!
My goldfish live in an outdoor pond and the oldest is currently seven! I hate when people assume goldfish are disposable pets, as they live for 15-20 years with proper care Fish are amazing pets, and they need lots of space and care
@@gingerpatch6803 I absolutely agree! I live in a really cold climate but one of my dreams is to one day have a heated green house where I could have a year-round smaller pond with a couple of goldfish 😊.

This is why I watch channels like this. I had no clue that fish bowls are actually harmful to fish. Thank you for educating me! (Btw: I do not own a fish, but I want to someday, and I am now even more the wiser)
You also have to make sure that the tank you’re getting for the fish is large enough because there are companies out there that sell tanks so small they shouldn’t be used for any fish
I remember when I was like 4-6 ( i don’t remember what my age was at the time) we would go to my aunts house all the time and she had a fish in a vase WITH THE FLOWERS IN IT, she said that it was okay because if the fish got hungry it would eat the roots. I alway felt so bad for this fish because it could barely move around with how overgrown the roots were :(
When I was in high school that was the big thing. To fill a glass vase with water, then put flowers or ivy in it. Then people would put a betta fish in the water and insist that the betta eats the plant roots, and the fish’s poop fertilizes the water and helps the plant grow. So you rarely have to change the water and you don’t have to feed the fish. Except that betta fish are insectivores and they need a tank of at least 5 gallons with a heater and filter. They also breathe oxygen at the surface and many times those vases were shaped so that they had no surface air for the fish. But people would just say “yeah, they don’t have a very long lifespan. They only live a couple of weeks.” Well, they only lived a couple weeks because people were starving them to death or killing them with dirty water or water that was too cold. When I got a betta with a 7-gallon planted tank, a couple of my friends’ moms who had those vases thought I was crazy. But my first betta lived more than 2 years instead of 2 weeks and he was very happy.
@@Annie_Annie__ These people really fucking thought a fish had the same lifespan as a fucking mosquito?? Jesus christ people will do absolutely anything except for educate themselves
@@Annie_Annie__ You can do this with fish but certainly not Betta. It’s a process called aquaponics, a modern day farming concept. It’s super interesting but you have to do it right with plenty of space for the fish! Fish usually used for this are like carp because sometimes the process can also be used for fish farming as well as plant growth.
@@DolphinMiniatures Yeah. You can also have a betta in a tank with plants if you feed the betta and give it all the other necessities like a filter, cleaning when necessary, actually letting it breathe, etc. Basically if you just.. you know.. take care of the betta. The plants aren't going to harm it if you actually plan things out. I've seen a guy on TH-cam doing it, and it's really cool. Some of the plants are decorative but some he actually eats. And the betta seems very happy and healthy. But just.. trying to feed it with the plants... that will not work at all. Honestly, even if they could eat the roots, it still makes no sense. What, you're just going to let the fish kill your plant?
Oh my god I didn't know that! Maybe that's why my beta fish jumped into the sink drain the second I tried to clean his bowl... if I knew that I would've immediately bought a different less stressful tank.
I used to have the same mentality as most of those video creators/viewers(not really caring about animals feelings) but I’ve recently started watching your channel and my mentality has entirely changed. Thank you so much, Soda, for helping me to revise my way of thinking and reinforcing my love for animals. -Lee🐝
so many pet owners out there are becoming way too irresponsible. with tiktok and in general social media, a lot (not everyone. there are responsible owners out there like you) will put their pets through anything just to get the attention. pets aren’t toys, pets aren’t objects. they’re living things that have feelings, just like us
It always has been like this to some extent. You need only look to a review of retro pet care manuals by 'snake discovery', (on yt) to see that. The difference is now we can see it more, because everything is recorded. Personally I feel people should have licences before owning animals or having children, with the licences being attached to a course of study in the chosen animal/how children work.
This really angers me, always as a kid I was told to treat people how I would want to be treated, and when I would treat people how I wouldn’t want to be treated my parents would ask me “How would you feel if x person was doing what u we’re doing to them?” How the hell would you feel if I did what you’re doing to these animals to you? Think about this
When my older sister turned 9, my parents got her a hamster and she did research on the type of hamster for about half a year. She NEVER put the hamster in water. The thing is, this hamster didn't really like my family because we got her from petsmart and they took her away from her babies. We literally watched them take her away from her babies. So because of that, she didn't really like us. But we still treated her like a QUEEN Even if she didn't like us, that didn't mean that we weren't gonna treat her right. People are doing the things in the tiktoks to their hamsters and a 9 year old girl could take better care of a hamster.
That's so cool, I feel children nowadays don't really understand that animals are just as precious and important as u and me due to teaching etc, so props to your little sis and u!
That shared fish one makes me so upset because you know they’re just gonna dump the fish into the tank rather than taking the time to allow it to adjust to the water. That fish is gonna get so sick and so stressed it makes me really sad.
I hate everything about those “cutesy” fish tanks. They’re so, so bad for fish, but they’re so popular and normalized that no one ever talks about it. It is not hard to research the correct way to keep fish, if you’re gonna get a living animal you should learn how to fucking keep it healthy.
Ikr why are they so lazy to research? they can just search it in google. I tried researching how to understand my dog and also likes fever but some died cuz there're no vets nearby (you could say there really is no vet where I live 😭😭) dang so I think of becoming a vet however I'm scared of surgery, touching(animals I'm not familiar with except mine), etc. even tho I can watch some killing in anime (not horror tho 😭😂) but looks like not in real life 😭. Damn what's wrong with me??? 😭😭😭😔
and you cant really tell them nothing in the comments because theres always that one group of people saying "karen" or "your not a vet" or "let them take care of their pet their own way"
like literally saw a person give their dog hot cheetos and when someone in the comments pointed out how harmful it was people really responded with "its ok its a mexican dog"
well now you know how I feel whenever I call someone out for abusing animals , people are hypocrites , they're first to say "this is animal abuse" and then literally eat meat
One time my hamster jumped out of my hands and he fell in my lap (I was sitting criss cross on the floor) and I cried. I felt so awful. He was completely fine and immediately got up, but I felt horrible. I couldn't imagine hurting or endangering an animal like that. I guess some people just shouldn't own animals. I also really want birds, but I have two cats so I wouldn't want to risk anything. That happened to me with one of my newborn baby bunnies... except it was onto concrete 😬 it just hopped out of my hand and i felt so bad! Thankfully it just had a bloody nose and grew up to be perfectly fine (baby rabbits have soft/flexible bones so they can survive a bit of a drop) but i still felt so so bad and i make sure to really hold onto any future babies now lol
I will never ever get a hamster again, I had one and it was so adorable but it got on a stool and jumped off and broke it neck, I was in shock because the stool was less that 6 inches off the floor and that was all it took to kill it.

One time when I was like 8 my mother was carrying one of our guinea pigs and it jumped out of her arms (the guinea pig was short sighted and I don't think she knew how far she was off the ground). Even at 8 years old I was worried until we checked the guinea pig and realised she was not injured (somewhat miraculously). You don't laugh at your pet hurting itself.

I recently watched a “funny” animal compilation. There was one where someone put a snapping turtle right next to their cat’s foot. I and I’m sure you reading this could already tell what was going to happen before it did. Sure enough the turtle bit the cats foot, and it was clearly in distress. The owner just sat there laughing it made me so mad. Sure you could argue that they didn’t know it was gonna bite the cat, but why would you put a a snapping turtle right next to a cats foot if you didn’t want it to bite the foot. I feel like it was on purpose. And even if it wasn’t on purpose, they still laughed and did nothing when the cat was hurt. Makes me so angry to even type it out. That cat did nothing to deserve that. :(
While I definitely think many of the tik tok videos are just for views, I also think many of them are from people that are uneducated about the animal they are raising. I feel videos like this can be very helpful and informative on why you shouldn't do things like what's seen in the videos. The hamster is a great example. I've never owned a hamster but I didn't know they couldn't be bathed in water. If I were to own an animal I'd do as much research as I could which is what anyone owning an animal should do; unfortunately, I think for some people they just think it's fine as most animals are bathed in water. Or even with painting turtles. Some people think that's okay because it's just the hard shell when that's not the case at all. So, I really appreciate you commenting on these videos as they help teach others that may have these animals and follow in what these people are doing. Also, I like learning this too because if I know someone who may be ignorant to something that causing harm to their animal, I can help inform them. These videos you make are great, thanks for sharing and informing! :D
I understand exactly what you mean! I don’t have tik tok or anything but I have heard of so many bad videos and seen ones like these before and I like this one because she informs people. Also there are so many animals that don’t need to be bathed...like chickens.
People paint turtles??? That's really gross... It's their literal spine, and not some unpenetrable bone bubble ffs. Also I don't understand why people want to "modify" their pets to fit an aesthetic. Don't get a pet if that's your priority.
Hell even after you've done the research it's a good idea to continue absorbing new information. Somehow when looking up information on how to care for a ball python, I missed the fact that they don't do as well on aspen since it doesn't hold humidity very well. Of course it didn't hurt to have him on aspen, it just was harder than it needed to be to keep the humidity up. A year later I'm still open to new ideas how to keep him better.
I have a small cat that is a runt and she’s currently 11. I’ve had her since I was 3 months old. It’s horrific to see the abuse people put their animals through for views. I couldn’t imagine doing anything even remotely close to what these people do. (I do spray her with water when she jumps on the table, though.)
"I want a fish tank and a gumball machine" This is possible and would still be really cook without being cruel with just *one* change... Use those tiny robot fish. That's basically what they're made for-
They actually made a gumball machine fish tank on the Animal Planet show Tanked. I'm no expert, but they talked through all the features they added in order for the fish to live comfortably in the tank, including making it way bigger than a standard machine, and adding pumps and filters and everything.

I knew I couldn't give them a good life... so I found someone who could. My first time with them and I wasn't ready mentally or physically. I am grateful they're now getting attention and the love they honestly need.
I used to have a budgie but unfortunately my mental health took a dive and I was having a hard time trying to take care of him. Tbh I'm pretty sure he would have died if he stayed with me. But I gave him away to a trusted friend and she would give me updates about his new home along with pictures. He looks so happy.
Everyone always seemed really surprised when my family talked about pets because of how long our hamsters and fish lived (I had a betta fish that lived for about six years, my sisters had hamsters that lived for around three or four years). I never understood why ours always seemed to outlive other peoples’, but watching these made me realize that, comparatively, eight year old me was doing a fuckin superb job of taking care of fish.
Most hamsters dont live too long. Mine was sadly taken by our cat due to human error but my brothers lived to be 4 years had one eye and three legs but always seemed full of energy and not in pain till he died in his sleep. RIP Coke
Okay. I was around 7 or 8 bought a thing of triop eggs. One hatched and then ATE THE OTHER EGGS. Named them Pacasaur. Pacasaur lived for a little over 2 years. Expecancy-90 days. When you care about an animal, even a little gimmic animal like a triop...they can live happily passed their expectancy. I burried him under a big tree, got a flat rock as a head stone.
It surprised me too realizing our blood parrot fish is older than my cat.. 3 years!! and they can live so much longer! I'm over 20 years old and only now know how long fish can live with good care, that's sad... should be more well known.
I recently saw a video on tik Tok of a girl giving her Hedgehog a warhead because "they wanted to try it" it's pretty unfortunate that TikTok doesn't consider most problematic animal videos animal abuse
I honestly love how aware your country is about animal abuse. It really makes me happy how much they care. Like the fact that they don’t allow fish bowls. Why can’t all countries be like that!?!
The falling hamster actually a roborovski, in which they actually the smallest and the fastest hamsters. That's why it always run and can't be handled like other species. But in that video the way they forced it into the ball thingy is just horrible . They even dropped it. 😔
the worst thing to feel is to be stuck in a small limited space for your entire life, you just stay there not even beeing able to swim far, just waiting for food to come to you
Literally went to a “local” art gallery the other day and one piece of “art” was a bowl (like for food) filled with water sitting on a chair with a knife and a live goldfish in it. The poor thing was doing its best to hide under the knife it was so cruel omg I was shocked
Wait, huh? I'm confused. I feel like I'm misunderstanding something. Why's this bad? A knife next to a bowl with a goldfish in it? Are you saying the goldfish KNEW there was a knife ? What's the purpose with him hiding "under" the knife like he knew what it was. I'm sorry, I'm not saying you're wrong. I just don't understand what the implication is that makes this so bad? Pls explain someone.
@@_labacanitaz The knife was in the goldfish bowl. First off goldfish aren't meant for bowls that's a myth, second off their fins rip and tear easily, third off it's just wrong, that's not art it's fucked up

The only time I've seen an actual ferret colored safely was an accident. One was on medication and had rolled around in the medicine in it's food bowl at the shelter. It was still mainly white with colored splotches

WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! They kept that frog in like a bubble half filled with water for five years?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF!! I'm very angry, I used to own a frog and i'm very mad. I owned two fish and two frogs at one point, I named the fish Kumquat and Mango because they were nice and orangy gold. I named the frogs Sun and Moon cause Sun had light spots on his back and Moon had dark spots. Anyway, had them all in there for a good peaceful time. One of the frogs, Moon certainly showed a lot of his personality because he was a greedy funny, smart, fat boi frog, he'd eat all the food and Sun got none, I'd try to get Sun to be able to eat but he was like terribly skinny and didn't have much strength to eat a lot so he ended up dying. I didn't realize it until my sister told me that the fish were eating his dead body. That was scary so I scooped him out and gave him a proper burial in the toilet. Moving on, fast forward, the two fish died off pretty close to each other and then it was just Moon in the tank. I didn't get him more fish or frogs because it was obvious he didn't want others in the tank. So It was just Moon and Me. He lived with us for two years and we had created a bond over those two years. I'd come home from school and talk to him and he'd look at me. He'd actually LOOK at me and listen to me. This was a lot because before him, I never had a lot of luck with small pets and when he'd look at me and actually listen to me, it was like he was saying, "I'm ok, you are taking good care of me and I love and appreciate you for that". You wouldn't believe how devastated I was when he left my life. It was a weekend and I just kind of looked over at him when I was on the computer and I saw him just laying there on his back. I thought maybe he was sleeping or just fell on his back after getting some air. I got the net and helped on to his belly. He didn't move, he always moved when I touched him with the net. He didn't move and I got scared so I moved him again and again and again. He wouldn't move. A lump formed in my throat and I lost it. I started sobbing and screaming his name and threw myself to the floor, crying my heart out. I ran out of my room and my sister saw me and I said that Moon was dead and she looked at him and told the family and they were shocked too. When I took him out, he had this big dark spot on his belly and my parents told me that that might've been going on for a while and he simply hid it from me. Pets often try to hide their pain from owners to spare them the worry and sadness. A day later, we had a funeral in the bathroom and flushed him. To those who might say I was overreacting or "it was just a little frog", Just because you can't pet or hold a certain animal, dosen't mean you can't create a bond as you would with one you can hold. Please don't abuse water creatures, They can be pets or companions too, they can have personalities and be able to create bonds with their owners. If you don't have the time and patience to take care of a water creature, I suggest giving that creature to someone who can take care of it. I still miss Moon to this day.
I'm so sorry about your loss, some people can be cruel about the loss of a pet that is uncoventional. I used to have 2 cochin chickens named Mushroom and Pepper. Mushroom is still with me but Pepper has passed on. She escaped the cage because someone left her cage door unlocked and she got attacked and killed by a wild dog. I was terribly upset over her passing but so many people joked about if I ate her. It's extremely offensive to me when people ask me if I'm keeping Mushroom to eat her and until now I can't fathom how people think it's ok to make jokes like that... I hope you're feeling better after your loss of all your frogs and fish :( My heart is with you

I have a pet hamster. He’s currently living his best life. We have a great bond he’s so sweet and caring. When I first took him home he was very scared of me and would hide from me when I would change his water or refilled his food bowl. But I gave him his space and started trying to bond with him after he started to become Curious of me and my hand. After a while he just started going onto my hand whenever I came to see him. He no longer runs away or gets scared. I’m glad I gave my hamster space cause after all we ended up becoming besties.
i have six mice and i cant imagine treating them like that hamster omg. two of them recently passed in an accident, and my mother in law says im "too sensitive about just mice" but they are my literal childen, i honestly dont see my life without them and they only have another year left
Another mouse lover, I've had many tell me "it's just a mouse" or mice are gross. At one point I had 9 mice it was an awful and amazing experience. (2 of girls died due to an accident 3rd one was afraid, so I got her 2 friends grom Petco. One ended up being a male that impregnated the other girl. She had 6 babies) No one wanted to adopt them from me. She I ended up keeping everyone. 😂 It was crazy to say the least but I love tgem so much. I have 1 African Soft fured rat bonded to a fancy mouse I can't handle either one. @@Cat-di9lg it’s terrible when they pass, but the experience of mice is amazing my two boys were bonded and found a way to climb into the others cage (had a massive tank I split into half using plexi glass) so when one of them passed, it was so hard. I find it horrible people treat rodents badly and don’t care because they aren’t a dog or a cat. Most shrug off what’s done to these poor things but if it was done to a dog all hell would break loose. An animal is an animal, all deserve equal treatment and to be loved! Especially mice and rats, they’re lovely and good company.
When I was younger I went to a friends house often and she had cats ( I have cats too) and I noticed she replaced her cats every year so. Then one day I went there to eat lunch with her and in the Netherlands we have something called ‘ hagelslag’ which is basically just chocolate sprinkles that you put on bread, well we ate some but then my friend ( ex friend now ) gave her cats some and I said to her like ‘ dude don’t do that cats get sick from chocolate’ and then her fricking grandma said ‘ well it’s only a small amount and we do this everyday so I don’t see a problem’ I became mad because I love cats and would never give a cat straight up chocolate, but my friend became mad at me for being a ‘ partypooper’ and I left and unfriended her.
Omg that is so wrong, just cuz you see your pets today doesnt mean you will see them tomorrow. YeAH itS juSt a sMalL amOunt like yeAh eat a sMall amoUnt of poison-
@@Elysi4n991 yeah- i used to give chocolate sandwiches to my dog but then i realized- saying its only a small amount of chocolate... What if animals could talk and you hear them say “ its only a small amount of posion “
Chocolate isn’t exactly poisonous in extremely small amounts depending on the type, white chocolate has literally no effect on animals unless in big doses. A tiny bit really isn’t bad! If you think about it then you shouldn’t give your partner chocolate or anyone as that’s hypocritical. If we ingest too much we’ll get the symptoms dogs do and eventually if we eat enough we’ll die, it’s toxic to us too. Giving a pet a tiny crumb of chocolate is like giving a person a chocolate bar.. Everything is toxic and deadly in high amounts, but in small amounts it’s ok. If giving dogs a non toxic amount of chocolate is bad you probably shouldn’t feed them as anything you give them is a non toxic dose of something that in high amounts could kill. Though it does take animals a bit to digest chocolate chocolate so I’d only suggest doing so once in a while as a small treat, but every day is kinda dangerous. There’s nothing wrong with feeding your pets things as long as it doesn’t effect them especially in the small dose you gave. There’s plenty of other foods that are worse for cats and dogs than chocolate that they can’t eat like at all.
Very smart. I have dogs, and one year my family had a party (with chocolate candy) and after the party, I was out in the backyard picking up trash, and one of the chocolate wrappers was COVERED in dog slobber. I panicked, ran and told my parents, and they told me to calm down (cuz I didn't know which dog ate it, if they did even eat it) and they would inspect the dogs for usual behavior.
The one about the hamster falling, I saw it on Instagram (the same video) and pointed it out that it could have died and then everyone just started saying that I was wrong basically ☠️
also, as the weather is getting nicer here in the uk, i cannot stress enough that you REALLY shouldn't take your hamster outside. firstly, they're nocturnal and therefore you have to wake them up during the day which is stressful enough (and if you're waiting till night then you're going to risk losing your hamster in the dark), it's hard for them to regulate body temp, there's pesticides/predators/toxins/many many dangers outside that can seriously hurt or kill your hamster, they can escape, and there's really no benefits for them being outside. if you want a small furry that you can take outside please consider other species (do plenty of research!) it's a nightmare seeing these poor animals outside :(
Animal abuse appears on youtube even when the search has absolutely nothing to do with it. I was looking for science videos about electrocution in water and all that showed up was videos of people throwing rats into tubs and sparking them. They all had millions of views. Really disgusting

He called me and we cried together. anyone who puts a hamster in a pool has never come out to their barn and found a poor mouse or chipmunk drowned in just a barn-animals water-bowl. its really stressfull for them and even if they could figure a way out they get so stressed they just swim frantically until they cant anymore and then they drown. i mean the people are there to take them out before they drown in this situation (hopefully) but that doesnt negate the amount of stress it puts them in to be in that situation.
I have actually seen a mouse in my dogs water bowl once in the bowl we keep outside when he plays in the yard
It was dead but I kinda felt bad
For hamsters its even worse, theyre not supposed to get wet at all and they can actually die from hypothermia due to it :(
It's so sad

Wow, that's crazy... Poor baby must have been absolutely terrified and in so much pain 😥
@Person Oseiles fine reduce it by half, you still wouldn’t like landing on your back from 24 feet

@@M0edeadch4n Yes, this happened when I first got her. She wasn't hurt and was completely okay.
Jumin, you had any pets other than Elizabeth the third?
I had my mice jump off me several times and felt bad every time
When I was a kid maybe around 6, I accidentally dropped a lollipop on my dwarf hamster.

They only live a couple of weeks.”
Well, they only lived a couple weeks because people were starving them to death or killing them with dirty water or water that was too cold.
Fish usually used for this are like carp because sometimes the process can also be used for fish farming as well as plant growth.
i mean ive seen my betta chew on my pothos roots when i put them in there, but he does not survive just on that.
What, you're just going to let the fish kill your plant?

so many pet owners out there are becoming way too irresponsible. with tiktok and in general social media, a lot (not everyone. there are responsible owners out there like you) will put their pets through anything just to get the attention. pets aren’t toys, pets aren’t objects. they’re living things that have feelings, just like us
And because of these vidoes other get the feeling that this treatment is okay. As Pewdiepie said: "We are evolving, just backwards."

How the hell would you feel if I did what you’re doing to these animals to you? Think about this

Also there are so many animals that don’t need to be bathed...like chickens.

the worst thing to feel is to be stuck in a small limited space for your entire life, you just stay there not even beeing able to swim far, just waiting for food to come to you
Literally went to a “local” art gallery the other day and one piece of “art” was a bowl (like for food) filled with water sitting on a chair with a knife and a live goldfish in it. The poor thing was doing its best to hide under the knife it was so cruel omg I was shocked
I hope you reported it....

Wait, huh?

Why's this bad? A knife next to a bowl with a goldfish in it?
Are you saying the goldfish KNEW there was a knife ? What's the purpose with him hiding "under" the knife like he knew what it was.
I'm sorry, I'm not saying you're wrong. I just don't understand what the implication is that makes this so bad? Pls explain someone.
@@_labacanitaz The knife was in the goldfish bowl. First off goldfish aren't meant for bowls that's a myth, second off their fins rip and tear easily, third off it's just wrong, that's not art it's fucked up
I love watching ferret tik toks but sometimes I see people “dye their ferret safe colors” and I jus want to let anyone know who has a ferret, there’s no safe way to color a ferret rainbow. It’s rlly sad to see on there, when I just wanna watch cute ferrets when I’m not with my babies
I don't understand y people want to dye their ferrets anyway. wtf
The only time I've seen an actual ferret colored safely was an accident. One was on medication and had rolled around in the medicine in it's food bowl at the shelter. It was still mainly white with colored splotches
@@simplelivingthings okay that's kinda funny
The only thing I can think of that would be safe is plant based dyes like beet juice, but like someone else said who tf dyes their pet's fur?
Beet juce might not even be that good of idea. Idk how much sugar ferrets can have. That why we have our iwn heads of hair to experiment in
7:36 my friend had 2 hamsters i think, and their cousin killed both of the hamsters by dropping them because apparently my friend did something wrong and so my friends cousin got back at them by killing the hamsters, it was honestly just sad
WAIT! WAIT!

I hope you're feeling better after your loss of all your frogs and fish :(

My mama obbsesed boy passed away and it's horrible don't having that tiny creature begging for your attention the second they see you. Im so sorry for your losses.
@@Cat-di9lg it’s terrible when they pass, but the experience of mice is amazing my two boys were bonded and found a way to climb into the others cage (had a massive tank I split into half using plexi glass) so when one of them passed, it was so hard. The other is doing well now and is loving having a new space all to himself. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with an unfortunate accident regarding the little babies
@@binx7157 Aww that's adorable. I tried to bond my mouse with some african soft furred rats but he had some mental issues and started attacking them 2 months after being together no issue. The boys are just do friendly and social it seems mean to keep them alone but bonding can be so difficult, unless they magicly decide "I like you let's live together" all on their own
I find it horrible people treat rodents badly and don’t care because they aren’t a dog or a cat. Most shrug off what’s done to these poor things but if it was done to a dog all hell would break loose.
An animal is an animal, all deserve equal treatment and to be loved! Especially mice and rats, they’re lovely and good company.

2:58 THAT POOR DOG WAS GETTING HANGED
Not by the neck, but under the arms. It is still probably a VERY. uncomfortable position and risks falling out and getting even more hurt.
Tester Wulf :3 it was dark chocolate and i dont think feeding that to cats every day is good for them.
Someday can you make a video that’s just a compilation of Yuki being cute and talking? I’d love to see more videos of him :)

I think, luckily, that’s an African clawed frog. They can live up to around 15 years ❤
also, as the weather is getting nicer here in the uk, i cannot stress enough that you REALLY shouldn't take your hamster outside. firstly, they're nocturnal and therefore you have to wake them up during the day which is stressful enough (and if you're waiting till night then you're going to risk losing your hamster in the dark), it's hard for them to regulate body temp, there's pesticides/predators/toxins/many many dangers outside that can seriously hurt or kill your hamster, they can escape, and there's really no benefits for them being outside. if you want a small furry that you can take outside please consider other species (do plenty of research!) it's a nightmare seeing these poor animals outside :(
if you guys want any more advice on hamsters i post regularly on my instagram @binkythesyrian i feel like such a popular pet is treated so badly :(
