Surely I can't be the only person that realized that the reputation meter does actually have an effect on game play? When I was below citizen status, there would be news reports broadcasting Aiden, making people around call the police. When I was a citizen they just said something of Aiden being in contempt from others perspective, I was left alone. When I was protector/vigilante status, news reports said that Aiden had a warrant out for him but the other citizens approved of his actions, causing for little to no tips. I was able to get away with more as well. Point is, it definitely had a role in the game even as minor as it is.
Taylor GreenBlue I disagree, a reputation meter rewards should be more than just anonymity and not just focusing on the story. It should have more actions and punishment. Other games have reputation meters and fuck even Red Dead Redemption 2 had bounty hunters if you killed too many people. So for Ubisoft to not implement more work into this meter shows how shallow they are.

I'm one of those guys that actually liked Watch Dogs 1 (despite the downgrade which was unfortunate, but not world ending and I modded my PC version to re-enable basically the E3 settings anyway) and I liked Aiden Pearce as a character. I was actually disappointed when he wasn't the main character in Watch Dogs 2, lol.

I liked this game too, but true, every game has sings, and I just watch these for entertainment so I don't care if he does games I like or not. I just avoid those I haven't, but wanna play becuz I don't want spoilers.
I have to disagree with you there. I know you don't like the character but be honest. Yes, Aiden isn't an angel but he does change for the better at the end. The Proofs are: In the main story: He doesn't kill Jordi (and is on "It's not personal" terms with him). He gets his family out first before worrying about his identity, or Damien or Quinn. He minimizes casualties to citizens. He leaks the video of the mayor and the blackmail data knowing it will hurt him as well. At the start of the game, He'd have killed Jordi, probably told his family to stay hidden or leave himself, wouldn't have been as subtle and more concerned with his own safety than others. In the Side Quests: Tracks down a psychotic serial killer, Doesn't launch massive heists for money, takes out gangs and other crime heavy areas, takes out and exposes human sex trafficking rings and customers. In other words, Aiden actually helps others on his own time.
Also they leave the biggest final moral choice of his character, whether to kill the guy who killed his niece, up to the player at the end. I chose to let him live to help further signify Aiden's change as a character over the course of the game. He's no angel, but he does clearly soften up by the end, and like you pointed out he does try to help out in side quests bettering the lives and/or reducing the suffering of people he's never even met (that's a good trait.)

If Aiden was portrayed more as a bad guy, that might have been a bit better. He still wouldn't be very likeable but at least they wouldn't have him as some kind of justified protagonist when it's his fault his niece died to begin with.

Actually, Aiden makes a brief cameo in Watch Dogs 2 on a Side Mission where you help spring him from being caught by one of the gangs (which is a huge sin) while you're following a supposed "deal gone wrong" between two of the gangs that left a bunch of bodies behind that you come across, learning that Aiden was the one who took them out. Of course, aside from being a cameo, there is absolutely no explanation for why he's in San Francisco and you never see him again after that Side Mission (another sin).
Bland character hard to relate, hes trying to be Batman...but is obviously not Batman. That being said I didnt mind him tbh, plus the supporting cast was fun.
He's trying to be Batman without anything that made Batman interesting. He's too blank of a character, yet he acts too stupid for any player to project themselves onto. Also, he's a melodramatic asshole.
That was literally a joke that my parents did on me on my birthday. Some of this guy's sin marks are abysmal. Some of the sins are agreeable, but others completely ignore the whole plot and lore of Watchdogs. Some, I can get by with, but there are some instances where an event actually makes perfectly reasonable sense later on into the game, which is why this video is clearly flawed. I could make a two-hour long rant that would wipe off almost half, if not more, of all the sins in this video.

It's mediocre really. What is Aiden Pierce better at - characterwise - than any other Ubisoft protagonist. Better yet - what is the difference to pretty much every AssCreed protagonist? He is a brooding loner on a path to revenge with trust issues after his loved ones got killed. Cookiecutter story, cookiecutter motivation, cookiecutter fate. Meanwhile Jordie is a guy you are fascinated by. He is cool, chill, resourceful, has humor. Pretty much everything you would want from a friend. At the same time tho he is kinda scary, which adds layers to his character beside "Omg, my niece got killed, now i will slaughter half a city worth of thugs with my awesome hacker gunhandling skills and wolverine-regeneration"
Also liked Clara, forgot to mention. Iraq felt like a Vaas knock off, even with the odd hairstyle, plus both of their deaths were disappointing. Lol Weasel!

One of the problems I had with the game was that you cant shoot while driving, at all. Sure it pushes to more environmental hacking which is cool, but it would have saved a lot of time and effort during the chasing segments.

Speaking of AI cars that catch up no matter how fast you're going, how about ones that stay ahead of you no matter how fast you are driving? It's like why bother using a car that's pimped out if the AI can magically make a dump truck go faster with invisible nitro? And why do a lot of these games always have the same deep and raspy sounding male leads?
Two things I always found silly about this game is the fact (1) there's a deer crossing sign on the outskirts of town , But wildlife does not exist in this game not even birds . (2) its a open world game in which you can fail a mission if you don't do exactly what the developer says.

Naw, that's just how video game bosses work. They give you way more fire power than you realistically need to kill one human so either they make the hero kill them in a quick time event but with realistic means or the boss has way more health than any human would, just so any player can't end the climatic fight with just one boolet.
People really love shitting on games. I mean yeah this game is not perfect but no game is and you can't expect masterpieces everytime a game comes out. I personally liked this game even with it's flaws.

Of course, when all is said in done, you'd look back and realize that you probably made things worse, but thats how it always works, even if all the bad guys are dead, even if there is a 100% chance you and your friends and family will be free from retaliation, there is still the chance that something down the line will happen that is bad, thats just a fact. Aiden is no different, and you do have a point, but I don't think Aiden could for a number of reasons, especially since both the Sister and Nephew now know who he is, Aiden and them basically will have to be separated for the rest of their lives down to all of the negativity that would come out of it, Aiden is a killer and a hacker, he can't have a happy family life now especially after all thats happened, it just wouldn't be realistic which the game, though unsuccessfully, tried to convey. Aiden isn't a great nor terrible character, he had the potential to be good, but he was really just "Average" or "Mundane", not great, not terrible, mostly down to the script, the somewhat on-off voice acting performance, and the game itself really just being average on all fronts.
One thing i really like about aiden is that he starts off as a dislikeable character, like the devs wanted u to dislike him at first so they could show his growth and aiden becomes a better character at the end.
Ya know I always viewed Aidan as a Psychologically damaged man after Lena's death and that makes the shit he does make way more sense, but apparently that was just me reading to much into it

Some, I can get by with, but there are some instances where an event actually makes perfectly reasonable sense later on into the game, which is why this video is clearly flawed. I could make a two-hour long rant that would wipe off almost half, if not more, of all the sins in this video.

Meanwhile Jordie is a guy you are fascinated by. He is cool, chill, resourceful, has humor. Pretty much everything you would want from a friend. At the same time tho he is kinda scary, which adds layers to his character beside

One of the problems I had with the game was that you cant shoot while driving, at all. Sure it pushes to more environmental hacking which is cool, but it would have saved a lot of time and effort during the chasing segments.

Two things I always found silly about this game is the fact (1) there's a deer crossing sign on the outskirts of town , But wildlife does not exist in this game not even birds . (2) its a open world game in which you can fail a mission if you don't do exactly what the developer says.

They give you way more fire power than you realistically need to kill one human so either they make the hero kill them in a quick time event but with realistic means or the boss has way more health than any human would, just so any player can't end the climatic fight with just one boolet.

He's the guy dragging out his little one-man crusade to avenge someone pointless like putting his family in even more danger, and considering his sister gets KIDNAPPED in the story, what good did it do him to pursue the people who hurt him? While I do think that his niece being killed was an odd choice, it was still family, and if you know who killed a member or more of your family, especially one you loved, wouldn't you go after him, her, or them? And don't tell me you wouldn't make mistakes either, he made mistakes, I'm sure I'd make mistakes somehow, ANYONE would make mistakes if the odds are that stacked against you, your a hacker, going up against a superior hacker not to mention a group of people dedicated to stopping you from hacking and either killing you or putting you behind bars... Or both even.
I didn't think the character was great, but there are far worse characters out there than a revenge fueled hacker near psychopath on the warpath.

At the time. Of course, when all is said in done, you'd look back and realize that you probably made things worse, but thats how it always works, even if all the bad guys are dead, even if there is a 100% chance you and your friends and family will be free from retaliation, there is still the chance that something down the line will happen that is bad, thats just a fact.
Aiden is no different, and you do have a point, but I don't think Aiden could for a number of reasons, especially since both the Sister and Nephew now know who he is, Aiden and them basically will have to be separated for the rest of their lives down to all of the negativity that would come out of it, Aiden is a killer and a hacker, he can't have a happy family life now especially after all thats happened, it just wouldn't be realistic which the game, though unsuccessfully, tried to convey.
Aiden isn't a great nor terrible character, he had the potential to be good, but he was really just "Average" or "Mundane", not great, not terrible, mostly down to the script, the somewhat on-off voice acting performance, and the game itself really just being average on all fronts.

One thing i really like about aiden is that he starts off as a dislikeable character, like the devs wanted u to dislike him at first so they could show his growth and aiden becomes a better character at the end.
