- What immediately attracted me to Trampled by Turtles when I first saw the band was its speed, but the Minnesotans are about more than just blistering bluegrass. They also write beautiful, heartfelt folk-pop songs, as this Tiny Desk Concert demonstrates.All three of these tunes come from Trampled By Turtles' new eighth album, Wild Animals. Watching the band gathered around one mic seemed perfectly right. --BOB BOILEN

This is really an important source for music. I haven't listened to commercial radio in over 20 years. For new artists, I've lived off gambling on youtube, napster, songs in movies, and NPR.

There is just something about this band I cannot get enough of. I hope they stay together for many years because they have so much more good music ahead of them.
They are on my Elephant Revival Pandora Radio station, but may be the best band on the station.

seen tbt for my first time at the mn state fair in 08, doing a small set at this pre show thing before their main show that night. i fell in love with their music and it has been apart of my life since

Planned my trip to Nashville a couple years back to catch them live at the Ryman, ended up seeing them 3 times within 6 months. Never a disappoint seeing these guys live!!!

these guys have been my favorite group for years now. I have been waiting to see them at the tiny desk for a while, as usual they played great. Great band to get lost in though if your looking for one to fall in love with. just all around great guys, and dave's story is really something special
Winners got me through some treks in my life. Easily my favorite version and I come to all the time. Especially the gentle pluck of strings with the weight of the lyrics. “I could write it down, but that would be a sin- and you know how I feel abt sinnin’. Ugh, it gets me every time 💖

I just was so fortunate to see them in Ithaca New York and I can honestly say I was very very pleased and can not wait to see them play again. Have a safe and Happy 2023 New Year !
I love how far this band has come, they make music that speaks to the soul. They make music that makes you get out of your seat and groove hard, one of my favorite bands to see live. These dudes know how make ya cut a rug!!

Used to catch them playing down at Pizza Luce in Duluth back in 2005 or so. I wasn't old enough to be let in those days but the staff had a habit of being "too busy" to check ID's for TBT shows back then.
So cool to see a local band making it playing awesome music. Had the chance to film one of their shows years later. They still play around Duluth/Minnesota. Definitely worth checking out if you ever get the chance.
Yes sir. Last time I saw them they were playing in Duluth, Mn and the opening act happened to be a younger Mac Lethal. It was a damn fine show for the big price of 8 bucks a ticket. That’s what’s up.

I heard about these dudes from a guy who was wearing a Trampled By Turtles tshirt.
For some silly reason, my brain took me on a visual adventure where a guy is stuck on (not IN) the ground, and this gigantic herd of turtles are coming towards him and he can't do anything about the slow torture of slowly being Trampled By Turtles.....
For some reason, I found the whole thing HI-larious, and therefore you have a new fan 🥰👍
They are so much fun live. My dream concert trip is Avett Brothers and TBT at Red Rocks. They are there 4 days apart next summer, if we are having concerts by then.

What is the bow that the violinist is using?
Anybody know what model of Gibson David is playing? I have literally been trying to figure it out for years. I mean years. I know it is the person who makes the sound along with the instrument, but I want to play winners on a guitar like that just one time before I parish!
It's a 1942 L-00, likely with scalloped bracing and maple sides/mahogany back (the earlier ones from the 30s had straight bracing and mahogany back and sides). They're tough to find and not cheap when they do pop up. Check out the Waterloo line of guitars if you want something similar that doesn't cost $5k+. The WL-14 and WL-12 will get you pretty close to that sound.
