They hail from the North Country from my home state and are one of the few things I can honestly say I have major home state pride in ! Consummate musicianship blended with Minnesota-range charm, these guys are winners. I am richer every time I buy a cd of theirs, even as my pockets are lighter. Namaste
I met the violinist in front of a club in Chicago. He was real cool but I didn't know who he was. He said "I'm in Trampled By Turtles" I asked, "are you guys big?" he said "Sort of."
These guys have so much passion and intensity. Their music is truly inspiring. I frequently play them for my 2 year old son...trying to steer him in the right direction.
And does he liked it? My father tried the same with me and I ended up listening to hardcore punkrock for 20 years straight. Still not into the old bluegrass, but bands like this with a fresh twist fills me with joy
Teach them to appreciate all kinds of music and they will not (usually) not listen to garbage music. My 12 year old has been raised on everything from Hank to the Foo Fighters and can't stand today's music.
Commenting again. Love you guys! Got me through YEARS of what seemed like tragedy after tragedy. Thanks. Used to drive late night to Calm and the Crying Wind and Midnight on the Interstate. Would almost always bring me to tears.
these guys are so good at the tension and release aspect of their music. I find myself getting fidgety waiting for them to let loose for the peak of most of their songs. such good stuff
TbT always makes me smile. For all of us living on the western end of Lake Superior, we know just what Dave means in the opening lines on Midnight on the Interstate. Gives me chills every time I top the hill northbound!
Seen this guys live a couple of times, still waiting for Dave to flatpick one out, I know he can. Also, I have never seen them play whiskey live, which is something I'm waiting for as well.
Not bad for northern pickers...but if you young folk want to hear a world class electric guitarist and group, watch Dire Straits Sultans of Swing by the one and only Mark Knopfler ....one of the greatest guitarists song writers of all,time...course you will need an attention span longer than 3 and a half minutes...Dire Straits are the epitome of true artistry in the world of rock music. Too bad you youngsters couldn't have lived in the 70's and 80's..in my estimation the greatest period for rock music and groups todays rap and pop blow...no true musicians with only computer generated songs..right Bieber...he can't even play a guitar.....listen to the Straits...Depeche Mode....Simple Minds...saw Knopfler in London in 1979 when they were just starting out....true talent...his guitar cries and he plays without a pick....GO EAST BEAT TONKA.....
Another elitist gatekeeper, you have them in every genre, this is not true this, not true that. Stop whining, stop living in the past and a whole new world opens up for you. There's good artists in every genre. It's just difficult to find nowadays thanks to the overload of shitty music in the music industry.

The definition of music. Perfected. Well done, gentlemen.
Thanks again, KEXP. Another stunning band added to the playlist.
This song paints a picture of liberation, happiness and the moment which we recognize our bodies and souls as free.

Saw these guys at Summerfest, probably one of the best concerts I've ever seen!
That violin solo on Widower's Heart is so beautifully melancholy.
these guys are so good at the tension and release aspect of their music. I find myself getting fidgety waiting for them to let loose for the peak of most of their songs. such good stuff
Remember seeing this band way back in 2007 in little place called The Grind in Southern Utah....on their way to J-Tree. Still my favorite band.

Trampled by turtles a minor league group….TRY DIRE STRAITS WITH MARK KNOPFLER ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARISTS EVER..LLONG LIVE THE 1960’s and 70’s
the singer looks like the actor Jake G
He looks like Bradley Cooper.
They sound exactly like railroad earth
☕
Singing out of tune on the opening tune 😢, so sad.

Lol you don't have to go on every Turtles song and talk up Dire Straits man. Get over it.
