When I was putting this video together, I wanted to include a short sailing section in the introduction. I found that old footage and decided to use it, thinking no one was likely to notice the registration stickers! Nice catch detective !!! Glad you like the videos!
FWIW to your viewers: Many of us 'old' boat owners have experienced the same problem with the push buttons associated with our engines. According to the 'old salts' I've talked to, the cause may be the switch, as in your situation. For others, it seems that the original wiring from the switch to the starter solenoid was made with a sub-standard gauge or quality wire. Thanks for the episode!
Hi Kevin! Vic Smith here! We worked together way back when in the old Yachfitters days. I just stumbled on your channel and have subscribed. Skookum work you've done on Starwhite! I own an O'Day 35 which I sail out of Semiahmoo. I'll be watching your videos with great interest! Cheers!
I noticed your nice clean decks. Did you redo them? If so what material did you use? The decks on my boat look similar but have started cracking in places due to the extreme heat down here in Mexico. Long time subscriber and really appreciate your content.
The original gelcoat on some of the nonskid areas was wearing thru so I carefully taped off all the nonskid areas and painted them with Interlux paint. It was a very time consuming job and unfortunately, I did not have a camera at the time to film any of it. The end result was/is very good and I do get lots of comments/complements on the appearance.
We use the bow and stern hawsepipes for leads to our mooring cleats. "Starwhite" has raised bulwarks with mooring cleats mounted on the inboard sides of the bulwarks.
First 20 seconds of the video about putting things off 'til later, and it shows 2022 registration haha. Love these videos

HI Vic,
Great to hear from you!
Hey, what happened to that other boat you bought?
Albatross the Najad 390 we bought is securely moored in Europe. We will be aboard her again in a few weeks.

Not sailing the Najad ?
We are aboard the Najad at the moment.
Do you use the afr hawspipe? I’m wondering how you deploy now and stern, as I’m trying to work a plan for my B40. Thanks!
