- 100 years after the defeat of the Shadow Dragon Medeus by the hero Anri, Medeus reawakens once again. With the help of the dark sorcerer Gharnef, he takes control of most of the continent, including Marth's home of Altea. Having retreated to Talys for 2 years, Marth, descendant of Anri, must now take back his home, find the Blade of Light Falchion, and defeat Medeus. What will this incredibly cursed adventure await for Marth and his allies?

Unlike Final Fantasy... Got to play FF1, the original, and saw we even got to actually craft items that in later games become legendary or recurrent of sorts, like Excalibur, but they never said the thing!

Not most people can confirm this, but I must admit: I applaud not just the effort with this video, but also actually using Nintendo's official translation of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light that was taken down on the same day as Mario's execution.
If only the transition didn't have the same fate as Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35.
This has joined and possibly surpassed the canon of hilarious FE1 content, such as the OVA and Not Enough Fire Emblem on the Forums. Insane props, great taste in games, and much love!

@@iSearchTH-cam There was an officially produced OVA for Fire Emblem with an English dub that is hilarious. It's pretty much on TH-cam for free and it's only about two or so episodes, so it's a short, fun little watch. Fun fact: it's also where Marth's Japanese voice actor, Hikaru Midorikawa, got his start as the character.
@@CSwizzleDizzle same thing for the Japanese VAs for Ogma, Navarre, and Elice. Navarre’s seiyuu is even a huge FE fan, and counting Heroes, he’s voiced at least one character from almost every setting.

As a guy that got into your channel through Touhou Merth, I was hoping for some FE content to come here eventually thanks to the many edits in your Touhou vids, and your pfp. Merth my guy, you did *NOT* disappoint in the slightest. This was one of the best hours of my life and well worth the wait! I have both FE1 (Switch) & FE11 (DS thanks to Game Over Videogames) and this video kinda makes me wanna play them more now. But I have to finish Engage 1st because that game already has me over 100 hours on it and I *STILL* haven't beat it once yet...

Edit: after finishing this, i dan say my favourite bits were the xenoblade style chain attack, gordin ramsay getting the parthia, samson being depicted as jonathan joestar, ultra instinct playing when tiki's portrait appears, the warp being repaired and the final bit with yuuka and marisa. I also thought the animation with maria and michalis was actually somewhat emotional, surprisingly. Great work right here.

Loved this video! I smiled throughout most of the experience. Stuff like Mickey Mouse saying the warp staff will be a helpful tool later, or Caesar and Radd getting a shopping list is just funny. Also you representing all three verisons of book 1's music was a surprising and welcoming treat. Overall I had a good time, and wish you luck in the future!

I really wish I could express just how much I liked this video. In a way, this feels like the kinda thing that someone made 15 years ago and went down in history as one of the finest FE Fanworks in history. Genuinely shocked it only came out yesterday, this has ALL the makings of an eternal classic!
The wait is over, and damn was it worth it! I really enjoyed the Gordin character arc and the inclusion of music from all three versions of the game, and also the original commercial. It's not on time for FE's anniversary, but at least you made it to Boucheron's birthday. Make of that what you will.

10:08 I remember this villager. In the fan translation, the guy pissed himself when he saw the manakete transform into a dragon for the first time.

A part of me hopes that someday you'll do a Sacred Stones animation, but that game has a lot more things like plot and support convos and stuff like that, but it'll be fun when there's finally a Touhou moment in a Sacred Stones animation, to truly go full circle.

Finally finished this video, the last chapters were great. I liked how you conveyed later game's plot points through the animation. Drawing the end cards is nice, I like how Dolph and Macelan are "Dead ringer" and "Splitting image" and their endings are even the same, and Daros still has his classic "He became sail"
This is so good I can't, with all these cute things like redrawn endings for characters (even tho I didn't recognised some of them, are they from 11?) and redrawn commercial, I really hope to see mystery of the emblem some day, because this one game feels really special to me. Hope you had as much fun doing this as I had watching

I actually never thought that the Aum staff was used on Camus. Would he a good head canon on how he survived the encounter
in actual canon, they (both Camus and in Shadow Dragon, the canonically ditched Frey) survived what should have killed them, and BOTH ended with amensia. I'd call bs on the SD exclusive Frey if it weren't for the fact Camus literally had the exact same fate.

@@angrybread478 I dunno too much about Frey tbh, if you play on hard, he disappears from the game, and since he's exclusive to FE11/12 specifically, I'd have to get a rom of a game never released. I'm admittedly relying on wiki knowledge and how Camus canonically ended up as Zeke to explain a character who is literally only there to die in the prologue admittedly.

Really good. I Love how Ogma puts himself in front of Julian and Lena to protect them, and fight Navarre himself. It feels like really canonical with some of the backstory in the Archanean series, to be fair.
