I'm from the UK and flew out to Japan just to see them live. I saw four servings in nine days. (They call their concerts "servings" - they are maids after all)! I'm old, and Band-Maid are the best live band I have ever witnessed. Their servings are usually 2+ hours long, no support bands, just them. And they never play the same setlist twice. Apart from the killer music they are really fun, even comedic onstage. They can make you headbang, then cry like a baby then laugh out loud at their onstage antics! Miku Sayonakidori. Miku is the founder of the band. Band-Maid have a song called "Sayonakidori" (it means Nightingale) that Miku sings. Check out the acoustic MV of it from their channel.
How a song will sound live is something they keep in mind when composing. They add extended intros ("Play") or solos ("Freedom", "Don't You Tell ME", "Hate?") to some of the songs in concerts. There are also videos of them singing acoustic versions of the songs with a different vibe. They play some instrumentals, too ("Onset", "Without Holding Back", "from now on"). They don't have the lasers and giant video screen behind them when they tour outside japan, but they don't need them. They send a lot of energy out to the audience and the audience feeds that energy back to them.
Saw them live twice last year in Houston and Denver. Both small venues. It's a completely different experience than seeing them in Japan or at a large US festival. It's very personal. They love to interact with the fans despite their limited English. Concerts are 2 hours long.
I have seen them live 33 times. All 14 US shows in 2022. In 2023, 5 times in Japan in two trips, and 11 times in the US. 3 times this year from 2 trips to Japan, and I'm going to Japan 2 more times in November to see them 4 more times. They are crazy good live😂
@@Bekka_Noyb Yeah i get ya, i had to fly to all of them, well some of the east coast and Japan ones i took a train between them but still had to fly to get there in the first place🤣
I saw them in a small venue in May 2023. I have seen most of the iconic rock bands of the '70's-'90's including Pink Floyd, Yes, Kansas..... This was THE best concert I've EVER seen!
I'm not saying that I like them but the first time I saw them I drove from Homer Alaska to San Francisco to see them and have seen them several times after that, They are worth it
By far my favorite band and I don't understand a word of it. Saw them in 2022 and 2023 at smaller venues during their US tours and they were awesome at both shows.
I saw them in 2022 during their US tour at a small venue in Boston, Massachusetts. I've seen hundreds of bands live and they rank in my top three, may be top at the moment honestly.
My first time seeing them live too, the the Paradise Rock club. My first time on the US too! 😻 My 2nd time was their two-man show at Roppongi with The Warning. 😻
I've been privileged to see them live twice and am waiting impatiently for them to return to the States. I've been to dozens of concerts and they're right at the top of the best shows I've ever seen.
Best concerts I have ever been to. I’m 55 yrs old and these ladies sparked my interest in music again after 20 years !!! You are part of the show. Extremely talented and charismatic ❤
Their liveshows are out of this world. Usually 2,5 hrs, 22-25 songs and few MC’s, they love interacting with the fans. Best liveband ever in history of rock. Was working about 30 years in rockbusiness, seen few thousand gigs and NEVER seen or heard BETTER band than Band-Maid 💥 Magical band, amazing musicians, best friends 🔥❤️
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! Badass Bass Assassin and Band-Maid are the best Hard Rock band in the world right now in my opinion. You got to get to the Live version of "Hate?" From Yokohama Arena last year. You will enjoy a great " conversation " between MISA and Kanami. Then move to the Live version of Freedom from the same concert as Domination. Then check out the official Live versions of Play, Onset, Manners/Black Hole, Moratorium, Puzzle and Real Existence 🤙🏽
I've been to a total of 9 concerts in my life if 50+ years, not something i normally do. Six of them were Band-Maid shows, and they were the best I've ever seen. I'd do six more in a heartbeat.
I'm of an older generation, seen lots of great bands live ... I have seen Band-Maid twice and BY FAR they are my favorite shows. Can't wait to see them again! Thanks for the reaction and looking forward to the next one.
I've seen them live 4 times here in the states. Most fun I have had at a live concert. They are so interactive with their fans. Just waiting on their new album to complete its flight from Toyoko to my house.
In my 58 years, I have seen U2, The Kinks, Tom Petty, Van Halen, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Who, Foo Fighters, and Rush 13 times among others too many to mention. Seeing Band-Maid once in a small venue in Detroit tops them all!
I've had the pleasure to see them once, in Chicago a couple years ago. I've seen a lot of concerts in my 52 years and that was definitely the most fun and best mixed concert I've ever seen.
Miku Kobato is the band founder, main lyricist, rhythm guitarist , backing and sometimes solo vocalist and is almost unfeasibly beautiful. One of the songs she sings solo is ‘Sayonakidori’, which means ‘Nightingale’ and translates, very beautifully, as SA (small) YO (dawn/night) NAKI (singing) DORI (bird). 🤘Band-Maid (who released a new album yesterday and also announced the formation of their own management company, are THE best Hard Rock band in the universe. And in any parallel universes. 🤘 DOMINATION live was the 22nd song of their 23 song set at this 2020 concert and begins with a segue that is the dying away of the last note of the previous song PLAY. At 2:40 - MISA, the bassist, Kanami the lead guitarist and composer, and Miku the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, are playing Hengao - "strange faces" - with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. At 3:37 - MISA the bassist is holding her plectrum in her curled finger so she can produce it and switch from slapping to picking in half a nanosecond! At 4:13 - Akane the drummer hitting two separate beats on her double kick pedals while simultaneously continuing the song melody on her snare, toms and cymbal. At 5:17 - a brief glimpse of Kanami laying down one sweet rolling chord pattern - pure class. THE best band on Earth.
I've seen them 12 times so far, seeing them twice more in November. They are fantastic live. They can get pretty silly between songs and always feel like they are genuinely enjoying themselves, which is infectious.
Best live band on the planet. Seen them live several times ..AMAZING MUSICIANS and great stage presence...they interact with the audience and the absolute love they have for each other shines through..
I've seen these amazing ladies four times and every show was better than the last! Been going to concerts since the 70's and Band-Maid's show were the best I've seen! Not just the music, but the whole experience was so inclusive and engaging! The bands fun was infectious!
I've seen them live a bunch of times. Best show ever. Amazingly, they get better and better at each show. Energy is through the roof amd you will have Band-Maid live withdrawals for a month or two. So worth it though. And not just the music, their MC times are great too. Miku leads Omajinai time (Magic Spell time) which is unique to each show. Keep on rocking with the Maids! PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

I discovered them too late and missed them when they came to Philadelphia. Will catch them next time. Their recorded work is phenomenal, but their live performances kick it up a notch. "Don't you tell ME" live is a good one, but really whichever one you choose will be great.
The last big event they've make was last year at Yokohama arena For their 10 years anniversary . Band Maid perform 33 songs for more than 3h30. It was recorded and you can by this DVD/BLUE RAY. The normal ticket was in 8800 yens (46£27 ) and the vip ticket was in 25 000 yen (131£ 45). I couldn't go their from France. I hope next year they've finally decided to come back in Europe and Uk tour( last visit was in 2019).
Saw them in Detroit St Andrews Hall, small venue, they put on a full show non stop with full energy. I guess they don't care how big or small the venue is they give it their all.
Love, Band Maid!!! I always did like their song "Play" Official Live... Check that out next please. I'm bummed, because I missed out seeing them at Lallapaloosa in Chicago last year... next time they come over, I'll be there.

Thank you for your comment. This is an early video of Band-Maid. Band Maid is especially great live. Please watch their recent official videos. They're amazing! th-cam.com/video/yfORoQIqB3E/w-d-xo.html
With Band Maid, if you are able to watch an Official Live over the Studio, always watch the Live because they are incredible live. Mee Koo ('i' is pronounced with an ee sound in Japanese)
There is a couple of years of maturity between Alone and Domination. To embrace the full extend of their talent you should listen some classic rock songs like Manners, then some Punk Pop rock like Blooming, then some instrumental like From Now On and ONSET. Without forgetting some exceptional live performance like Puzzle official Live and the acoustic live one. As well as Play llive.
Saw them in a small club in the US last summer. They don’t travel with the full light show in on tour outside of Japan, normally, but still a fun show.
I too saw them in a small venue. Hope you remember that moment because when they get to the larger arenas - like Yokohama - it won't be the same atmosphere or experience.
I have seen them live, they do tour the US and other countries. they are as good as they appear in this video. They do very long concerts, 22+ songs usually. They are one of the very few bands who not only can play live but do it nearly as well as edited recordings. Band maid is made for live performance, they shows are insane, the Miku magic time half way through is fun as well. There are a few other bands all about performance. I have seen baby metal live, probably at the top for performance, Band maid is at the top for their talent as musicians. And if you want the best live vocal performance, that would be Mamamoo, no one has better live vocals and I have seen all 3 live. Every song from Band Maid is awesome to unbelievable and always go for the live performance videos. Most of their videos are performances edited together visually, live performances and they do have MVs, they great as well but the live performances are the best. Another great live performance is a video of two songs, Manners and Blackhole, freedom and play, Bestie, hate . Great MVs would be influencer, blooming, bubble(a freddie mercury tribute) for fun go to Herman Li's youtibe to see Miku and Kanami play their instrumental Without Holding back with Herman putting his dragonforce style into it, in a maid costume "auditioning" for bandmaid, lol. It is hilarious.
I've been a Maidiac for a few years now ,but finally managed to see them live in Yokohama in July, they were amazing, well worth flying 14hrs from London for, people we're like dude your going to Japan just to see a band😂I got lucky and got more tkts in their overseas lottery ,so will be flying back to Tokyo in November for two B2B gigs, can't wait, keep up the good work guys
You guys haven't seen anything yet . Band-Maid has over 130 great songs and just released a new album yesterday =) Please check out "Play" or "Freedom" Official Live from the same concert ! Thanks Nice Reaction
Been lucky enough to see them play live 3 times. Had to fly out each time. Last time was in June at their joint show with The Warning! Both bands played my fave song & then they live debuted their collab song Show Them for the finale! Best concert ever!
@@DoubleTakeJC their joint show was in Tokyo. Me & GF flew 6K miles. Stayed 5 days in Kyoto & Tokyo each, with day trips to Osaka & Himeji. Was an amazing experience!
I've seen them 3 times. Unlimited renewable energy Saiki sings straight to my heart. They never miss! Nothing but superlatives fer every member. Try HATE OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO FROM YOKOHAMA ARENA or BLOOMING OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO 😊
Saw them live 3 times in Japan.. small and huge venue hall..once during Matsuri anime convention in my own hometown somewhere else in SEA… but after covid ive never got to see them live again due to current exchange rate ..yup flight crazily expensive..but hey worth experience and the best concert ever in my life
I have seen them twice, and will see them again in the future, they just released their new album Epic Narratives, Miku has a special moment during their shows called "Magic Spell Time" she gets the audience to say and do stuff enteracting with the audience

That is the COOLEST name right now on EARTH 😁🤣😂😅🤣😂… Anyway THANK YOU guys for this Awesome song and reaction… More more MORE Band MaiD🙏🙏🙏🙏🥹. Hope to see you GUYS aGAIN… ( remember the 1st song you said, don’t understand Japanese but now u started sing along🍺🔥🥴🥰.
Hey Guys...I really enjoy your reactions !!!!! I got to see BM 1 1/2 years ago and I have seen all the greats over the last 40 years....and let me tell you.....They were the best LIVE band I have ever seen. I felt 18 again !!!!! A couple of suggestions.....Keep an ear out for your music audio level,,,,it was really soft on this song. And the Maidiacs do not like when reviewers talk during solo's !!!!!! Keep listening.. only about 140 more songs to go for you !!!!
Pretty sure those aren't the poster's real names. Miku Kobato is the rhythm guitarist, founder and co-vocalist of Band-Maid, and "Sayonakidori" is a Band-Maid song that Miku sings lead on. I have seen them live twice in the US, and they are insane live. Their studio work is great, but they are really built to be a live act, and that is where they shine!
Best concert ever, saw them in Atlanta in 2023 and had so much fun. The best concert before that was Queensryche in 1992 which was awesome but these ladies were/are better. In regards to videos most of the official live versions are better than the official video. They have sooo many great songs and they are genre unto themselves dive on in and enjoy the ride.
Band Maid is one of my favorite bands. Was lucky enough to see them 3 1/2 times when they came to the states. The 1/2 time was when they opened for another Japanese rock group here in the US. Another one of my favorite bands from Japan is Nemophila. They are more metal than BM but awesome as well. The lead singer Mayu has some fantastic scream vocals and clean vocals. Anyway if you guys are a bit curious about them here is a link to a live version of their song "Revive". Just like Band Maid and The Warning their music videos are good but they really shine live. th-cam.com/video/xlIbcjqN5ao/w-d-xo.html
My only complaint is the lighting is not great. The band is absolutely fantastic, and the talent is unbelievable. I love them. Their new CD just came out yesterday, and I already ordered mine.
I'm doubtless much older than Hogie-iv8bd: I'm doing well to make it down to the arena. I've been to one show from all of their North American tours, and talked with the band twice. Don't die before seeing them live (a point that should be on everyone's bucket list). Hogie-iv8bd: your devotion is noted and admired. (In all candor, what could you have been doing that would have been more important than going to the shows?). Dear "Double-takers": Never call them Band Aid unless you want Masters and Princesses to "meet you" in the parking lot.
Band Maid has to be llistened to live, every single song. No exceptions. They are always better live. Suggest Daydreaming, Hate, Play, Freedom and Manners with Black Hole. LIVE. Daydreaming Live: th-cam.com/video/g6S05uwq8-M/w-d-xo.html
Ur requestor is a maidiac, miku is the rhythm guitarist, sayonkocdorio, is a song that she specifically sings , so ur next request is that song , n I know I spelled that wrong maidiacs
Very basic of Japanese basics. Japanese is a phonetic language. All of the vowels have the sound as you would pronounce then in "Do- Re-Mi" song. Each consonant followed by a vowel or vowel, followed by a vowel is a syllable. So, you were pretty close on Sayonakidori. So each two letter combination pf this would be a separate syllable. Sah-yoh-nah-key-doh-re. Or a a word like "Ai", "love", would be two syllables as they are consecutive vowels. Ah-Ee. Again very basic and like everything else, always exceptions to the rules. Hope this helps.
Thanks for continuing down the BAND-MAID Pigeon hole , just a couple of things , Volume a bit low , video a bit small , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin .

btw tell Miku Sayonakidori to request Sayonakidori by Miku😉Oh wait, I just did (preferably the acoustic version)
This one was my introduction. I fell in love! Then came "Freedom" Live........I fell in love with both Miku and Akane!!
We have a similar "birth"😂 (2 1/2 year)
I have seen them live, they do tour the US and other countries. they are as good as they appear in this video.
That bass guitarist is something else
Anyway, if they ever perform at a venue within a 6-hour drive from where you live, you absolutely need to go. It’s totally worth it.🤘
We will for sure keep an eye out!!
That sounds amazing!
@@DoubleTakeJC their joint show was in Tokyo. Me & GF flew 6K miles. Stayed 5 days in Kyoto & Tokyo each, with day trips to Osaka & Himeji. Was an amazing experience!
i love this Band, legendary show.
I have seen them 2 times. I will try and see them as many times as I can.
Saw them live 3 times in Japan.. small and huge venue hall..once during Matsuri anime convention in my own hometown somewhere else in SEA… but after covid ive never got to see them live again due to current exchange rate ..yup flight crazily expensive..but hey worth experience and the best concert ever in my life
7 times here ! Including flying to Japan 🤘
Wow that’s amazing!
I have seen them twice, and will see them again in the future, they just released their new album Epic Narratives, Miku has a special moment during their shows called "Magic Spell Time" she gets the audience to say and do stuff enteracting with the audience
WhaaaaaaaTTT😱😱😱😱😱??? MIKU…first name? SAYONAKIDORI….. last name? That is the COOLEST name right now on EARTH 😁🤣😂😅🤣😂… Anyway THANK YOU guys for this Awesome song and reaction… More more MORE Band MaiD🙏🙏🙏🙏🥹. Hope to see you GUYS aGAIN… ( remember the 1st song you said, don’t understand Japanese but now u started sing along🍺🔥🥴🥰.
2022 house of blues Chicago and the number one rule is never talk while kanami is speaking
Yes, thank you Miku Sayonakidori-chan, Po! 🕊️🤣
Hey Guys...I really enjoy your reactions !!!!! I got to see BM 1 1/2 years ago and I have seen all the greats over the last 40 years....and
let me tell you.....They were the best LIVE band I have ever seen. I felt 18 again !!!!! A couple of suggestions.....Keep an ear out for your
music audio level,,,,it was really soft on this song.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
Watch "Imagini Time" (magic time) with Miku
Hope they react to freedom live next there’s a nasty drum solo in it to ❤
Hi may I suggest Band Maid "YOU" live in Tokyo 2018
🤘🤘🤘🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🔥🔥🔥
I'd love to see you react to Roly doing a Storyteller freestyle on JDZ media.
Dude is a massively underrated talent
Should consider giving the reformed 'Hagane' a listen...they are phenomenal.
A pigeon request po!
Vowels: always short sound in Asian languages. (There might be a few exceptions.) But you won’t be wrong if pronounced this way.
No parking lots please! I will make a conscious effort to not call them band aid :)
OK, NO big DeaL…. SAYONAKIDORI… here PO🐦😉
まだAdoはリアクションしてないのかな? 是非やって欲しい。
Thanks for continuing down the BAND-MAID Pigeon hole , just a couple of things , Volume a bit low , video a bit small , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin .
