Being someone who sometimes makes ear plugs out of wet paper towel or even cardboard bits to block out noise to sleep, I know about losing bits of paper in my ear canal. So I learned from my dad a few years back that an ear bulb is an essential tool to keeps my ears clean and healthy. If I go to the beach or swim in a pool for a while, when I get home it's a good time to give my ears a good squirt of warm water with a bit of alcohol & acetic acid to prevent and clear any slight infections. I was so amazed the first time I blew my ears out. It was amazing!
Ear deposits have to be thoroughly softened by hydration for best removal, overnight, at least. I'm sure there are videos of using an "ear bulb 'syringe' to blow out impacted (but moistened) ear deposits. Well worth knowing how to do!
My grandma had a mosquito in her ear and made her deaf at that side of the ear, idk how but she really is. So this is why I'm scared of mosquitos because I can't imagine myself being deaf.

All you have to do each time you shower is lean your head to the side and let the water enter your ears. You don’t need anyone to extract your ear wax, you can actually do it yourself. The warm water breaks it loose. Why don’t any of you do this? I see so many people on the comment threads not talk about this and act like cleaning your ears out is a new experience. @@mannyrodriguez3933 bad advice. as a medical student, using water to clear ear cannal too often gonna makes your ear have a moist surface. moist surface is an ideal condition for bacterial growth which makes you vulnerable to bacterial infection which is diffuse otitis externa. also warm water can cause dizziness because it trigger vestibular system on ear

But in my experience there’s been MORE GOOD from allowing water into the ears to clean them out once in a while than not doing anything and letting it build up. My very first experience with ear wax was when I was racing horses and also working in a fabricating shop. While driving race horses you gets lots of dirt that goes in your ears. Then while using ear plugs they tend to push things you can’t see back in. Doctor put some oil in there and waited about 15 minutes then flushed with saline. I had huge hard pieces come out. Now a days I just flush my ears once a year softly with warm water and it works great.
Ear wax overtime becomes damp, loses its moisture and natural stance. Meaning, ear wax can harden, turn mould like appearance and actually cause infection and stop formation of new healthier wax!
Many years ago when I was about 17, almost 18, had my ears fill up with wax and muffle my hearing. Went to the doctor. He filled this giant stainless steel syringe with warm water and then just put it against my ear and pushed the water in pretty hard. I didn't think that was really the best approach, but it worked.

Oh man. I had this problem off and on starting from age 14 until I got them cleaned when I was like 26. I really thought it was like a sinus problem and not earwax as the doctor suggested. When I was a teenager and told my mom about my hearing loss one time when it got bad in both ears, she was basically like, "I'm not taking you to the doctor. All they'll do is charge me money." I got my ears impacted a few years back and went to a doctor for checkup. He gave ear drops to soften the hardened wax and was told to come back in a week iirc. Then he got the wax out by pouring in some liquid (can't remember what it was) and picking out the wax. Afterwards I could hear much clearer that loud noises made it hurt. 😅 So I put small cotton balls to lessen my hearing. Since then I have stopped using cotton buds and just use ear picker very carefully when I clean my ears.

I usually try to soak my ears in water without dumping it in as fast as I can, it works for me since my ears are wider.
My doctor said wash cloth and soapy water is the way to go. But I've always done that anyways and have never had an ear infection

Ear wax overtime becomes damp, loses its moisture and natural stance. Meaning, ear wax can harden, turn mould like appearance and actually cause infection and stop formation of new healthier wax!

I think it serves the same purpose as sneezing (both collect bacteria to stop infections, so both need to be reset once in a while).
Many years ago when I was about 17, almost 18, had my ears fill up with wax and muffle my hearing. Went to the doctor. He filled this giant stainless steel syringe with warm water and then just put it against my ear and pushed the water in pretty hard. I didn't think that was really the best approach, but it worked.

One time when I was very little, the doctor found that the hearing loss in my right ear was caused by a lump of hard black earwax the size of a pea that was shoved against my eardrum. They put it in a little bag for me to take home. It was incredibly funny to show to my friends.

I once had to go to a specialist cuz my ear got impacted with a whole chunk of earwax to the point where i was semi deaf. And yes it was cuz i was a little too obsessed with qtips lol. The moment the doctor sucked the filth out of my ears with the vacuum thingy it felt like my audio volume got hiked up to maximum after years of living in complete silence. Trust me when i say you should try having your ears checked professionally at least once in a lifetime cuz it really does make a difference.

I've had this issue where, despite cleaning my ears, it somehow ends up building up eitherway. A couple of times it'd build up so much that my hearing from either ear got muffled, as if you had put something big in it. It was really irritating.. I'd tell my parents but they didn't do anything about it. One fateful day as I was walking to school, I suddenly 'lost' my hearing.
All sound was gone. It may not sound much, it was the first time I ever freaked out in life.
Turned out, earwax had built up to the point of completely blocking my hearing. As soon as I had it removed by a professional, everything was a bit overwhelming due to how loud it was. Turning on the pc, hearing others chat, opening the fridge.. everything was loud lol.
My hearing has been greatly improved ever since.
Everyone should have it done once in their lives, it truly makes a difference.

Oh man. I had this problem off and on starting from age 14 until I got them cleaned when I was like 26. I really thought it was like a sinus problem and not earwax as the doctor suggested. When I was a teenager and told my mom about my hearing loss one time when it got bad in both ears, she was basically like, "I'm not taking you to the doctor. All they'll do is charge me money." This is despite the fact that she had her own ears cleaned out professionally prior to that. My mom is dumb af, but also our healthcare system is dumb af.
The never finished cleaning out my ears when I was 26 bc it was so uncomfortable that I made them stop even when the nurse was like "But there's still more in there!" I just got mine cleaned again yesterday, six years later, but it only worked on the right ear. I didn't put debrox in the left bc I was afraid of it causing hearing loss in my relatively good ear. So I have to go back in a couple days cuz rn I'm totally deaf in the left ear. Maybe the problem won't come back this time since I'm getting them fully cleaned. But man, this time it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. I guess after 18 years of buildup, that's what happens. But she was also using a freakin' weird device.

I got my ears impacted a few years back and went to a doctor for checkup. He gave ear drops to soften the hardened wax and was told to come back in a week iirc. Then he got the wax out by pouring in some liquid (can't remember what it was) and picking out the wax. Afterwards I could hear much clearer that loud noises made it hurt. 😅 So I put small cotton balls to lessen my hearing. Since then I have stopped using cotton buds and just use ear picker very carefully when I clean my ears.
I had my ears cleaned today, one piece of the wax was about an inch wide. Found such wax in both ears. When the doctor took it out, i never heard so clearly before. I had to ask my dad to talk quietly because my ears are hurting. Wow
