This was a great walk down memory lane. I was born in 1970 and started collecting Godzilla and dinosaur stuff in 1977. I have many of the things you had shown in the video. Imagine my surprise when I saw one of my pics in your video. The pic of Godzilla and Godzooky at 19:11 is from my Malidicus account on Flickr. I am not mad and I am not asking you to take it down. Just please ask permission next time. Great videos.
Sorry about that. I will I usually try to credit where I get the image from, but this one must have slipped through. Thanks for being so good about it. I will try to be sure next time. Thanks for the comment.
Just one minor correction, the Godzilla’s gang figures were originally from a Japanese company called Popy not Bandai. Popy made many vinyl monster figures during those years for a variety of shows and movies. At that time kids at school said some of them fought Gamera. I also thought Bemster (green bird) was the baby monster from Gappa (monster from a prehistoric planet). I also thought the one called Muruchi was supposed to be titansaurus Years later I learned just what they were all from and my kids logic and answers went out the window.
You are correct! I saw the information on Wikizilla and assumed it was Ban Dai. Geez, there are times that production information becomes really muddled when it comes to some of the Japanese toys that were brought to America in ye olden times. Thanks for the comment! As a kid, I was the same, and continually tried to tie the figures to Kaiju I had seen and (I guess like Tricephalon) figured that they had just messed up the details. Some were impossible, and just left me thinking that they must be from Godzilla films I hadn't seen. I wasn't exposed to Ultraman until much later. Again, thanks for the comment!
Exactly! Back in those early years Ian Thorne’s Godzilla book was a dream come true. For the other ultra man monsters, it was fun thinking (now know they were lying) there was some Gamera/Zilla films I never heard of. When I first learned of ultra man is a bit blurry but I would say early 80’s. Still love Tricephalon. If you check my channel I had someone create a giant modern version of him (statue)
Yeah, and sometimes they even removed some heads! It looks weird to me without all three heads, but I guess it makes a good dragon. I have a soft spot in my heart for those old fantasy playsets. Thanks for the comment!
I missed those, but I did have some of the rubber action figures of Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla from the Heisei Era during the 90's as a kid! Might want to do a video on those!
Definitely. Those 90s Godzilla toys were a different monster altogether, and much better made and detailed in general. I had a few of those too. Thanks for the comment!
I don't remember Toy Country USA, but I bet it was a lot like the places I haunted as a kid. I have been thinking a lot about the toy stores we went to when we were young. Maybe it is time to do a video just dedicated to those old toy stores. Quick....to the internet! Thanks for the comment!
I just found my old Trendmasters Godzilla! Yeah, I need to do something on these guys. This was a great toy line. I had several and I also had a couple of those tiny mico-playsets that looked like monster heads when closed. Thanks for the comment!
Sparky Ultraman! I didn't know about that one. I think I still like the knock-off sparky Godzilla the best. I had him, King Kong(ish) and The Creature. Always wondered why Kong Kong would shoot sparks from his mouth. Maybe it was something he ate. 🤔. Thanks for watching!
One of my favorites, but I remember the metal wires in the arms breaking a lot. They must have been relatively cheap, because my parents replaced it a few times. Thanks for watching!
Great video!! 😊 Although I can never be too nostalgic about the Ben Cooper Halloween costumes. Even if the masks were pretty cool looking, the costumes themselves were absolute trash. I can remember my mom scotch taping one of mine after I wore it to school before going out Trick or Treating. 😂 Also why would Godzilla or Darth Vader or whoever wear a shirt with his name and picture on it?😅
Ha! Absolutely! I was forced to wear these costumes as a kid too. I grew up in a climate where it was still flippin 85 degrees (commonly) on Halloween, making them even worse. Slowly suffocating while desperately trying to see the oncoming traffic through the tiny eye holes. Man, those were good times. Also, I guess Godzilla and Darth Vader were raging narcissists. Thanks for watching!
The puzzle was just the prequel to the playset. Make the leap from picture to reality! I really loved that playset, but the artwork from Mr. Norem really fed into my enjoyment. Neat take on Godzilla.

Awesome! I will check that out. Thanks!
We need a 80s Ninja & Barbarian full size playset video with the full size swords & stars
6:41 I think I saw that game board set at an antique store I went to
WHAT!?! That thing seems to be really rare! I really like the artwork on it. Very unique. Thanks for the comment.
Man, I had all this stuff as a kid.
The Tricephalon would later B recycled 4 a 3 headed dragon in some medieval play sets.

@@thelittlethings3309 U R welcome.
I remember all of these items!. Even had a few myself.

My guy needs the support for better recording equipment, slap the like button!
Oh, thank you....bless you. I think this microphone was originally from the Edison laboratory.
Had a lot of these toys... Bought from Toy Country USA

Hey don’t forget other Godzilla Toys 🧸 from Trendmasters Toys 🧸 they were made from the mid 1990’s!
I just found my old Trendmasters Godzilla! Yeah, I need to do something on these guys. This was a great toy line. I had several and I also had a couple of those tiny mico-playsets that looked like monster heads when closed. Thanks for the comment!
I still have my sparky godzilla that I found at a drug store back then, along with a sparky ultraman.

the posable GLJ Godzilla made of rubber with a metal armature(1978-9)?would destroy all my plastic soldiers
One of my favorites, but I remember the metal wires in the arms breaking a lot. They must have been relatively cheap, because my parents replaced it a few times. Thanks for watching!
@@thelittlethings3309 at the end with mine he was Robo godzilla with one arm with no skin on it and just a wire. Rock on.
Ha ha ha! Bada$$! Now that was the way to roll!

I didn’t get the play set but I did have the puzzle 🧩
The puzzle was just the prequel to the playset. Make the leap from picture to reality! I really loved that playset, but the artwork from Mr. Norem really fed into my enjoyment. Neat take on Godzilla.
I’m sorry but that was eons ago when I had the puzzle and it doesn’t exist anymore 😢
