About go steal me some plastic pallets! One company's trash is another mans treasure!!🤣😉 but damn that was a solid solution! U win cheap asian award for this, best bang phò buck!🤣 going to make me a nice deck some day, hopefully before everyone starts taking the pallets everywhere lol. Thank u!
Awesome! I love your inventiveness and creativity for good, cheap and simple van solutions. And the best of all, you upload a 'How-To' for free! Thank you Sergei! Would love to see more like that! Blessings to you from a smoothie lover in Germany
I Found some similar new pallets, new online. They are called Display Base pallets. Think of the warehouse stores and their pallet displays. You might see them there.
Plastic pallets!!!! Why didn't I think of that... you just gave me a great idea for my kids tree house floor. I was going to use decking but this would be even better!!
Very nice idea. I was thinking about doing something like this for my Subi outback but in much smaller proportion. Just enough to get my single bivy on top without me falling off the car. It will be a poormans's rooftop tent, so to speak. Thanks for the idea. Your sleeping mat is pretty pricey too...but nice.
You rock dude ... Plastic pallets huh ... who would have guessed :D ... thanks for the vid and by the way ... your rooftop deck looks very nice ... thanks for sharing :)
Genius. I’ve been trying to decide how to make a DIY tent platform to put on top of a truck bed rack. Basically the exact same concept as what you did only for a truck instead of a van. I already own a regular ground tent and didn’t want to waste buckets of $ on a fancy RTT so I think I can take your ingenuity and create my own solution
This is great but where does someone find those kind of diamond plate plastic pallets. I looked at many places. Can’t find any. Where can one get them?
Thanks very much for get to the point and well polished video. I'm buying one for my 144" standard (low) roof 4x4 with factory roof top AC. Prime Design engineer came back with one additional Heavy Duty cross bar design. Planning to add Solar and 52" LED light bar as well.
Hey I am getting the same Alurack for my new Ford Transit. It looks like you added some of the heavy duty crossbars? Also, any issues with wind resistance or roof noise at highway speeds?
The stars are 4 light years away minimum and you just got yourself 10 feet closer. LOL. Great idea for a platform though. Lightweight, rot proof, stable and cheap.
I've looked all over and can't find a source for pallets like that. I can find plastic ones, but not with that texture on the top. They are also VERY expensive (like $200 ea).
You have rack. Wouldnt want want to think about wind resistance? Would that wind resistance increase if you put a flat surface on the rack,? Increasing fuel consumption. You could have issues in high cross winds with what is effectively a sail on the roof. In a high sided vehicle.
I picked up an all aluminum 3 cross bar ladder rack made by American Van Equipment originally $323, for $25 on Marketplace 750# capacity. www.americanvan.com/heavy-duty-aluminum-ladder-rack-3-supports-av-al-300-1060.html
DIY'ers have to make a decision: want solar setup or a deck? I think most builders are putting in solar, especially if you have a 144" as oppose to the 170"
most pallets are 40" x 48"...your pallets appear to be longer. I have a long, tall T1N, and the crossbars on my ladder rack are 48 inches apart. I can cobb them together, but I would much rather have the long ones that you appear to have. Looked everywhere, no can find. Can you confirm the dimensions on the pallets you filleted?
These plastic pallets are much more expensive for the shipper than wood pallets. Many also have RFID chips in them so customers can know where their goods are. As an example, Walmart uses these smart pallets for their egg deliveries. If there is a poultry disease outbreak, they know where the eggs from that farm are from and can recall those eggs. Because of their added expense, these pallets are often financed and those pallets have a security interest on them. Stay away.
Yes, I got a few plastic pallets that way myself. The store I got them from had a few plastic and a ton of wood pallets. But, they wanted to get rid of all the plastic and most of the wood ones, for free.
This is perfect! Thanks for your brain sir!
I can't find these anywhere. Any ideas on where to get some?
My day is happy now. This is one I can customize around all the junk on top of my van.
HOLY WOW. You, sir, are an absolute genius and my personal savior. Doing this ASAP. Big love.

What do you mean cheap Asians? there's a lot of cheap Americans.
kudos dude....love the ingenuity.cheers
You sir are a genius. Thank you so much!!!!
You sir, are a freakin' GENIUS!
ha!! I never have seen plastic pallets before!! Wood yes but not plastic. Nice job!!

Just what I was looking for 👍😃
Dude this is genius! Thanks.

thanks for the idea... waiting for you to do solar on the roof and see how the rack and pallets work out with a solar panel.
That's a great idea. Maybe solar panels will be next?

Love it! Thank you!

This is great but where does someone find those kind of diamond plate plastic pallets. I looked at many places. Can’t find any. Where can one get them?
Yea, me too. Ive looked at dozens of places in SO cal.
Even if we could learn the brand of the pallet it would make our search easier...
This was far smarter than i expected 😂
Great Video Sergei! Becky and I now really want to buy a Sprinter!
I think that's a great idea.
Awesome!! Off to find what the Uk has that works as well as yours x

Genius man! Thanks for sharing your project. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
Brilliant!
Hi, all looks great, but I do have question about that does your roof rack has windy noise? thx
Did you drill the holes in the panels for wind resistance?
Genius!
Smart!!
Where did you get the pallets from ?
Can you, please, at least share the brand of the pallet. That was the rest of us can find similar as 99% of plastic pallets DO NOT look like this.
@Maurice Cason bull loney. Go away.
Hey I am getting the same Alurack for my new Ford Transit. It looks like you added some of the heavy duty crossbars? Also, any issues with wind resistance or roof noise at highway speeds?
About to do the same for my transit, did you find anything out when you did yours?

Mange 2 hahahahaha!!

Try facebook marketplace
Where do I find these

I am wondering where he is from I am in Minnesota and I have never seen these before but I would be willing be to travel to his city to get them
But that roof rack is $1,000
Sure is, but there are other cheaper options. :-)
Hahahaha!!

Yeah... makes no sense to me to buy a thousand dollar roof rack and then slap a few plastic pallets on it.
Also no hail damage
DIY'ers have to make a decision: want solar setup or a deck? I think most builders are putting in solar, especially if you have a 144" as oppose to the 170"
How do you fillet it?

Idk where to find pallets most places don’t just give them away haha
Hey mate, what a genius idea, hope you don’t mind a bit of plagiarism thanks from the U.K.
Better you come over to Perth and fix this for me :)
Sure, I'd love to finally visit Australia.

And how much was the ROOF RACK????
Was hoping to see how you put them on and off? :(

Agreed. Don't steal them. But they can be purchased new for WAAAaaaay less than any other solution. Still a killer idea.
Also they are all over Facebook marketplace and Craig’s list
Why not you use metal? it's more environmentally friendly..unless of course you're using a recycled plastic thingies.
Those pallets are $50-$60 dollars a each. Did you happen to "find" those pallets behind a store shipping area? Lol. It weren't trash.
Dude, you stole the pallets, they are never free, but not a bad idea
You'll be surprised how far asking for permission can go.
