We take the Arrma Outcast 4S V2 to a BMX park and stunt it! But it broke, let's see what happened.

You're 1 hell of a driver! Sucks it broke! Landing on those ramps like that it's difficult on any chassis lol if it broke landing flat I would have some issues. 🆒 Video thanks 👍🙏👍
Not surprised to see the chassis break. Chassis slap is very audible when landing even just medium size jumps in numerous videos of the new 4S v2 Outcast and Kraton.
You could thicken the shocks up but then you put the suspension under more load
@@Luke-en2tk this is nonsense. That would make the car undrivable. Chassis slap is supposed to happen. This chassis just doesn't like it that much from these heights.

This chassis crack from the motor happened to me on my Typhon 3S. I have o-rings around my motor can now to help soften the blow when I go big. Since the crack is still in my chassis, I haven't really had a chance to see if it works, but it came recommended by a lot of Arrma owners.
Looks like some chassis protection may be in your future? A custom made skid could help disperse those impacts better. Hope it's up and running again soon!

Thanks, the crack is from flex in the chassis and the motor moving down and smacking into the chassis.
@@RazorRC the only thing that could help imo would be to lut patches of shoegoe near the crack. Drill the edges of the crack with something big enough.
Shoe goo and dry wall 2 coats of them. It samed one of my chassis who blew the whole side once

Don't be upset , the US is doing all the Beta testing for us. These rigs should be all ready for the rest of the world by the end of the year.
Had similar break on my graite chassis, right under the motor. Fixed it with a blowtorch 😂. Didint expect it to last 5 minutes, Suprisingly though its held up really well.
Had the Outcast on pre-order but it looks like its slipped back until december here in UK. Have given up on waiting and spent the money upgrading my other cars instead.

Ohh No! Not another chassis. I had such high hopes for this truck. Those were some epic sends though. Great video man.
High hopes? These jump heights are extreme. Even aluminum chassis on a tekno mt410 would bend. This thing looks strong if one is reasonable.
@@Rusty-Metal I agree the jumps are extreme. And I also agree this thing looks strong. But “come on”, another chassis issue? Not a control arm, carrier, tie rod, slipper, body post, shock tower, differential, bulk head or something other than the same exact part that broke on the kraton. Maybe high hopes wasn’t the best wording. Maybe I should have said, I wish something different would have broken first. I know something had to give with that extreme jumping. But come on, another chassis?

Awesome bashing with great jumps! This truck seems so very capable of jumping, flipping and landing, suspension looks almost perfect. You said about the Maxx, that it lands horrible and it and the Skeeter don't seem to be flipping as good as this. I am looking for a stunt machine, any thoughts comparison wise? Thanks!
Very competent, one of the best stunt trucks out there.
I plastic weld my arrma chassis. Ok it takes 40 minutes of my time if it's a massive crack but not 40 from my pocket. It works at least until the next big crack.
Not ideal some say but good enough especially if run in these conditions
will m2c motor mount prevent this?
I will say since the chassis changes a while back. Them breaking in frequency has increased a lot with me.

Very cool video nice to see this 4s model hold up compared to the v1 model idk if you would have got half the run time with the version 1 as arms and shocks would have failed well before the crack in the chassis plus the motor plate would have probably done the same on the version 1 thanks for showing the damages 👍👍👌
haha, yes I broke more stuff on my V1 Kraton 4S, it would break other stuff before I got to the chassis!

Not a big fan of off road arrmas and their durability, but it did take some punishment before it cracked. Wonder why their chassis are cracking so much? Are these 4s ones same as 3s versions? That's one thing that I've not had issues with on my 3s arrmas...
the chassis are a little different, and the motors/esc's and batteries are heavier
Nice air time,shocks sound like they aren’t absorbing enough of the landing’s.
I have found most arrma shock fluids come way to thin, I think springs and some 80wt would help alot.

if anyone was gonna break an Outcast 4S v2 chassis it needed to be you. I notice Duperbash has put the 3S m2c motor mount and brace on his. Do you think a better motor mount would stop this or is the chassis hitting the motor and cracking rather than the other way round...if that makes any kind of sense ?

Yes, I think the motor mount would help, I have one on the way.
Really, though, it held up well all things considered. Annoying but the plastic chassis are cheap. And those are higher than anything I’ve ever jumped haha.
Sir, i told you to put something under the end of the Motor like a Bumpon from 3M or something.
I put a little foam tape underneath it, but it didn't help.

First Outcast V2 chassi crack on TH-cam that I know of at least! That thing took a beating though not gonna lie, even if most of the landings were spot on… You might addressing this on the review video but, is a Notorious 6S worth the extra money over this? Given that a bent metal chassi would be more expensive to replace than this plastic one? Awesome content as always
I like the Outcast 6S EXB, pretty durable. I bent the Notorious V5 chassis at the same park doing similar jumps.
@@RazorRC yeah it seems saving the extra money for an Outcast EXB might be worth it in this case if you’re going to do mainly stunts… the Maxx is always a good option for durability, just a shame the handling is not the best
So, I wanted a bronze ish colored one.
But got to looking, and I have an Associated MT8 that’s had the parts needing replaced replaced etc. and a Techno MT410. Just don’t know what I’d gain from this one. And stunt trucks really aren’t my think anyway. The associates and techno both handle similar to race trucks once dialed in.
As someone who owns all 3 vehicles you mentioned I can safely say not much.
overall, the MT410 is a superior truck (ignoring price)
@@RazorRC and, really, you can get food used prices. My first was $650 shipped. Just needed radio. High end Servo and top knotch HW electronics.

Yeah I finally punched a hole in the bottom of my Outcast by hitting a rock at the end of an insane speed run. I think it will be fine for awhile though.

My 6 year old has completely thrashed her senton 4x4 blx and besides spur gears and a servo replacement has been a absolute tank on 2s. My experience with the arrma 6s line up turned me away completely, bending chassis bad, electronics, ect... Shes been wanting a bigger truck/truggy she watches your videos. Shes so picky shes determined to get either the kraton/outcast 4s instead of the Traxxas Maxx or Skeeter. When i order her i will click link in video. I appreciate your videos as it kind of helps me know what im getting into. haha

@@Rusty-Metal There are levels to Tamiya you dip shit..But even entry level Tamiya chassis never break..This isn't the 80's plastic anymore lil fella..Tamiya uses many different composite blends..Arrma uses horizon resin blend these days and its straight up junk! Hobbico composite was way better..No chassis broke hardly..Im glad you tried to turn this into a strawman argument though lol..You arrma kids are so cute 😘 lol

They should have did all the upgrades but kept them the v1 size. They're too big/heavy now. I've broken one plastic swb chassis and that's landing on the corner of concrete stairs. On grass/dirt? I've jumped higher and been totally fine.

Solid bash. Held up pretty good imo. I'm a big fan of the Maxx. Arrma may be thinking "hey, if you wanna go harder, get the 6s trucks or 6s EXB..."

You're landing onto rocks and stones. It looks like it slammed a stone from 30 ft up
not many rocks on the jumps here, it's from the motor moving and slamming into the chassis
I think its absolutly normal. Each one car is made for what is made. Outcast 4s and K4s are made from some light bashing and skateparks. That chasis is extreamly week for the rocks. if you gonna do that airs, you can still make it in 4s running the 6s line, that chasis is extreamly week for the rocks. if you gonna do that airs, you can still make it in 4s running the 6s ones or the traxxas sledge.
Or you could buy a Sketer 4S or Maxx.

I notice you have a lot of chassis issues with both new 4s trucks, that sucks, but prly doesn’t help that 95% of your jumps you’re just landing flat out from 30ft in the air instead of on landings. Can’t fault the trucks for that.

I jump all of my RC trucks the same way, including the Maxx and Sketer. Haven't broken a chassis on those.
i guess 17% bigger doesn't work for that chassis. should've left it same size as v1
to be fair, I don't think I ever ran my Kraton 4S V1 this crazy.
@@RazorRC I waited for 3 years for the v2 to come out. Now, gotta have constant chassis backups to run it as advertised is just sad.
Took an absolute beating, not many if any cars would of survived that bash unscathed without some big upgrades. Motor needs some support, a little 3d printed support would do the job

You having the worst luck , I've been to 5 skateboard park and hard landings on concrete but I do have the foam padding for my lipos and motor set up .
I've got foam for the lipos, but looks like I need to line the motor too. Are you doing similar air with an Outcast or Kraton 4S V2?
Concrete is flat though nothing sticking up to hit the chassis
@@RazorRC we are sending off a half pipes , it's all concrete . Now I do tend to break chassis during winter ! That tho I'm prepared for .

Idk how you keep cracking the chassis in the middle. In my 4 years of owning and trashing the v1 never happened i did explode the side once because i smashed sideways into a pole. Patched it with shoegoe and dry wall til i exploded the front. Landing at that hight on a bare chassis is also a contributing factor. The maxx has a tub like chassis and the oart that hits thE ground is hr teh front and rear diffs are located and they are covere with skid plates so it is more forgiving than a flat chassis.
I'm assuming you don't launch them as high as I do
Damn another chassis break and this time on the Outcast 4s V2 shorter than the Kraton V2 chassis. Doesn’t come highly recommended I guess.
Was expecting them to be tougher than what you’re finding.
I do jump them higher than most, and probably the highest of anyone not running M2C parts. It's good to know the limits of these trucks, though I wish it was higher.

Can’t really fault a plastic Rc when you’re landing from 30-40ft up to flat ground, this isn’t beyond a Rc cars limits, they were never designed to do this we just do it anyway
25 ft. Maybe 30 ft. I have to disagree. This truck was designed with a ton of power, and is marketed as a stunt truck. Nowhere on the box does it say please do not jump over 15 ft high. That being said, I'm impressed how well the drive line, and suspension are holding up to big power and big jumps. I'm not a big Arrma fan although I own 2 (felony, 3s mt) and just sold 1 (6s kraton). Arrma seems to be stepping up durability. No reason these plastic chassis should be cracking like that. It's not a 50 mph impact into a light pole, it's a truck landing flat with the suspension absorbing 75% of force of the landing. Rc car plastic should flex, not snap.
Ya it literally was designed for jumping... its just not tough enough ..
My Revo 2.0 would laugh about those landings.

Well I'm a no name tester, meaning I don't do TH-cam and sometimes even pay to test a platform, I have seen this truck survive skate parks, several times, I myself have jumped it much to high, and it survived, I'm not saying razor has anything against arrma, what I am saying is that I've seen contray results when me and others have bashed this truck, I'll also say this, seems razor bashed this straight out of the box, shocks do need turning before big jumps chassis as anyone can see from this video hit way to hard, and though I'm watching this on my phone so not the best screen there was a dark spot that the truck appeared to have chassis slapped on, again it could have been a damp spot for all I know but it was a dark spot, now I don't know how high these jumps are but they seem a bit high to continually slap your chassis every landing, I will never say what a person can and can't do with a rc that they own, but as with any rc I think you should use some thought as to how much your willing to push limit's yes this is a stunt truck, mabey some people think a plastic chassis should be able to handle it, but if you want to jump over 5 to 10 foot jumps, you may want to tweak, and mod it a bit frist

Arrma vehicles handle very well but durability wise they can't touch Traxxas.
The Maxx would have probably survived that bash but then again it is quite a bit more money, lots more if you stick with the Traxxas infrastructure
Maxx or Sketer 4S would survive. I've ran the Sketer here doing double backflips and no breakages other than a bent Ackermann bar.
@@RazorRC the Sketer is great but with it's extra weight I'm not sure it goes as high or flips as well out the box as the well as the Outcast at least not without some changes to tyres and gearing
Maybe the Maxx is tough but that’s about the only Traxxas vehicle that is in my experience. Sold most of my Traxxas rigs cause I got tired of breaking something every time out even when relatively lite bashing. They were crap. My Arrmas are tanks although I don’t send them this high, I still jump them off my ramp and get about 1/2 to 3/4 what he’s doing. To each their own I suppose.
