The Atlantean probably just needs a check valve one thing i would say about the merlin is the fan cowl would be better on as it also helps protect the fan and radiator from any debris on the road the tyre might kick up. They both look really good though.
With the old speedo my original one didnt work when i pulled it apart stripped back wires to expose some fresh bits of every one and re soldered every wire and connection it got it working again
One trick I use with rusty screw heads is to put the screw in a drill (instead of drill bit) and hold it against steel wool. The friction and heat makes them come up shiny as new!
Pro level gearshift manner moving the Merlin. Two Merlins in Sydney one painted into London Transport. Amazing. That speedo with modern backlit numerals and needle moving up and down on startup like today’s cars is extraordinary to see in an AEC from 1968!
Dads bus was an A.E.C. with the horizontal 6 cylinder and a pre select auto I am looking for a early 60s Leyland or AEC truck to restore and transport a carnival ride
They are looking great! When you were doing the radiator what was the 240v socket for? Was it a battery maintainer or a 240v inverter? Oh and seeing you scrub the wheels on the ranger then run the broom across the paint gave me heart palpitations. And the best time to use CT truck wash is on a rainy day in your underpants lol, not on a nice day because yeah she bakes on easy.
hi mate, it was a soft bristle broom, and the Ranger is pretty dented and scratched up already! The 3 pin socket in the engine bay is a mystery, I am not sure what it does, and haven't ever tested it to see if there is any output. Possibly for a worklight? I will look into it.
This may seem a silly question and may have been asked before. The windscreen on the Atlantean is different to ones I recall here in Scotland from my youth. Is there a reason they never had the bay window we had.. PS excellent video and congratulations on a fantastic renovation..
@@stevestufff also based on mark 2 modification of the Leopard’s original lantern windscreen all the way across. The flat panel glass on the near side was to accommodate a wider doorway, hence the unique asymmetrical design.
That’s exciting Steve, a, “Disco-Speedo!” 🪩💃🏼🕺🏼I love it 😊 All the work & TLC you’ve put into those buses is outstanding. One thing, I wish the cocktail lounge music could me my alarm sound😂 ❤ Love your work Steve 😊🍻
Fantastic work Steve on both of your buses, can't wait to see them up close at Busfest.

That ticket machine still gives me nightmares!
I have no idea how to use it, but it works!

the windscreen design was to try and minimise glare for the driver at night with interior lights on. Thanks for watching!
