Congratulations Steve, no preservation project is free of hurdles. Deleting the fan drive and replacing with a beefy electric fan is a wise way forward. All the best mate, from here in the UK
Hi Steve, very impressed with ex L T AEC Merlin , looking very smart. Did you know that AEC Southall had intented using the name Merlin for exported Swift's L T got in there first using name for their first Swift's . Have a Happy Christmas and New year.

Well deserved Steve ! Your channel and content are awesome. Watching your content from France

Mwaah, Steve, you made it to 1000! 🤗🤩 Congratulations Big Fella 🙌🏻🎉 I think 🤔 you’re an amazing, “Rooster” with all of the work you do & have done working on the buses & allowing us all to be part of it. I’ve truly enjoyed the content. You have made me laugh so much along the way when times have been a bit grim. You truly are awesome! The U.S.A. trip was a real hoot too. Stay safe on the roads & enjoy the time with your family. ❤ Love your work Steve 🍻 Shelley, Perth 🌻
thankyou and happy christmas!
Well done on getting to 1000 subs mate.

Take the Merlin for a drive in America and raise funds for charity as you go -for the Merlin!

Hi Steve I’m in the uk and love your videos as a bus enthusiast interesting to see all the other NSW buses in your yard. Also saw your Holden too beautiful car, it was my great great great uncle James Alexander Holden who started the business out when he emigrated as a saddle maker to australia from Walsall England Carey on the good work enjoy your holiday

1000 + bus nerds...woohoo well done mate and well deserved.
cheers and thanks!
I would love to help you do a full on resto of a bus.. seems you would be a laugh to work alongside. .. but leave the radio voice at home lol
dunno if I have another bus resto in me haha
Just to add, so glad you are over 1k subs here is to 2k and more.
@@stevestufff lol, I have just bought 6405, ex transdev gonna put it back to I kastoria bus line colours and I think it was fleet number 11… my Scania 3761 is basically a shell now… looking at getting an older one to resto … but no London buses over here I can find
Hey mate, thanks for great videos this year. Can't wait to next year
thankyou :)
mate, don't kick yourself about everything... that's the joy of owning historic vehicles: shit happens! Also it wouldn't be a Pommy vehicle if it wasn't leaking a fluid somewhere.... just not in the quantity it did! As you said, take some time off, relax, take stock ..... the buses will still be there for you to both enjoy *and* curse at when you get back in the new year. Cheers!
cheers! There's always something.
I’m guttered for you mate
@@sydfox22 not good but not the end of the world!
@ the Radiator is what hurts the most
@@sydfox22 yep all that time and money!
Great video sorry about your radiator hope you get it fixed soon hope to meet you again hopefully coming out to Australia in the new year
@@TonyPotter-m7b thanks Tony. Have a great Christmas.
Forge on you have done a great job Things will get better
Hopefully back on the road in no time
I think I saw this Merlin at Kirklands in '91, just after their fleet of MB's came out of service. Great to see it survives painted in Eggins colours like the similar one they operated 👌
Gutted for you, Steve. What a nightmare.
Hi Steve have good Xmas from my partner a Daniel we like all your videos one day we meet for coffee.
same to you guys :)
Thanks for bringing both buses along Steve, your display looked good and I am sure it's exactly what you envisaged when you started your projects. Hopefully the radiator dramas are now all done and dusted and you can enjoy a reliable Merlin :)
Hey mate again i feel for you. After all that hard work, of which you have put into both 1101 & Harry the Merlin was nice to see both of them together. Dylan should not blame himself it could've happen to anyone. At least you got my bus ( the Premier Denning & the BCI Coach) but it was a great day. Talk & catch up soon. Cheers. 🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍
The Kiama Coaches liveried Leyland (next to the STA Volvo B10M/Ansair Orana) at 15:29 is owned by a good friend of mine
When I drove for North & Western (Gladesville) many years ago I used one of those Ticket machines, or was it with Shorelink (Hornsby Busco). This was back in the 1990's.
The old Almex. I recall them back to the 1970s with Deanes and Cumberland Metro West. CLICK CLACK with the lever as the 1” square ticket was issued. Deanes used yellow rolls while MW used white. Parramatta Ryde Bus Service used whiz bang electronic machines with the BZZZT printers and vacuum fluorescent number displays.
Am so sorry mate with how it all turned out. You are to be commended for all your hard work and dedication Steve. I know you will bounce back mate, and we all look forward to seeing your repairs .
Ik at 17:10 that is an iveco chassis with a cb80 body.
@@southaussiegarbo2054 correct!
@stevestufff i wish id known of railfest being on when i was in nsw in oct... but when i searched events prior to going it wasnt shown 😔.
Youve done great mate. Good to catch up at Busfest too. By chance mate you know that rear licence plate lamp that you managed to find, could you reply or text me a link to the listing if they still have some, am after one for one of my buses too. And your right they are basically impossible to find nowadays! Thanks mate

@@stevestufffThanks Steve Ill look him up. Funny seeing you again the other day at North Sydney. Until next time mate take care and happy holidays 👍🙌
Another great Vlog, and fantastic to see a young bloke learning to drive an old dinosaur of a bus, love it ❤️,cheers from Downunder, 🦘🦘🦘❤️🇦🇺
I would have absolutely lost my shit if that had happened to me, so full credit for remaining in good spirits and getting both buses to BusFest. On the upside you're not going to have to worry about faffing about with that shroud any more, and the thermo fan will be so much more efficient at keeping the radiator cool. A worthwhile upgrade!
Good idea to get some help fitting the new rad, hopefully it all works out. One thing I would say is use the time until then to look over the associated sensors, pipes and electrics to make sure they're up to the task.
yeah my mate and I will be doing that over Christmas break. Luckily the alternator is strong and charging well, and there really isnt much hanging off it.
Bloody shame , go for a modern electric fan set up
Mate, gutted for you regarding the rad. Hope it doesn't cost to much to fix again.
Dont be to disheartened mate, youve done an epic job.
What a shame, that's a kick in the guts.
wasn't a good feeling
That's a painful one but it happens.
So Harry decided to crack the shits & go incontinent! 💩💦 He won’t know what’s hit him when he gets gussied up with that new radiator, Steve. Your hard work on both buses has been a tremendous effort. I’ve appreciated your content & have learnt quite a bit. ❤️ Love your work, Steve 🍻🙋🏼♀️
I’d be curious to know the temp readings with a thermo fan(s) installed.
Good to meet you. Bit of a blow, but brilliant effort to have them there. They looked great.
Impressed how you coped with a level head. Very inspirational. Glad you still got to enjoy the day. The electric fan should be a major upgrade as long as the electrics are up to it. Can’t wait to see how it works out. 😅
Aww mate, that is a kick in the guts. So disheartening..
Hi Steve Is that a crack on the windscreen or just a reflection at around 20;25 as it goes up on the tow truck
yeah windscreen has a crack. I will be replaced at some point.
