Genji in concept had been done to death by the time Overwatch was revealed, the fact that Blizzard could still make him iconic is a miracle
I think what differentiates him from the rest is that he is wise, he went through many traumas but he is not (or is no longer) a vindictive killing machine, he matured and forgave, I speak only for myself but what makes me love this character is the paradox he is, so much destructive power but he found inner peace, "a peaceful storm"

i was going to put that one, and the one that he cuts the car, but it felt awkward to cut the punch (like pretending it didn't happen) and also the difference in the animation end up being the reasons I skipped that entire trailer

Genji was the reason I got into Overwatch in 2017 lol. And I'm happy to say that to this day, he is still my all time favorite character. He's not my main as I usually main tanks, but if I do require to go DPS or feel the need just to be Genji, I'll play Genji
