    Ukraine's ultra-nationalist Right Sector movement has been extremely active during the Euromaidan protests, but Kiev is now moving to disarm the group. On Monday, one Right Sector member instigated a shootout outside a restaurant. Three people were injured, including a city official. In response, riot police surrounded the Dnipro Hotel, which the group was using as their headquarters. The group was forced to vacate the building without their weapons and move to a base outside Kiev. Simon Ostrovsky of VICE News was there as events unfolded.

      He has been anti-Russia and pro west , for his entire coverage , but still documented the proof to show that the USA/NATO/EU and main stream western media (today) are lying and that "Russian propaganda" is actually the truth !

    It's a pity, that Simon didn't filmed the terrible events in Odessa on May 2nd 2014, when over 50 people, Odessa residents, had been burnt alive by the Ukrainian fasсitst Right Sector and Azov ... no one even VICE/Simon has ever mentioned about the bloody events, no word about the victims ... Why? Nowdays we cannot read reports, or watch videos shot on-site like those of Simon... Why? Who is interested in keeping it secret, what it's going on in reality? Simon, the questions are to you... yes, the questins are rhetorical ... people know answers, people read and watch alternative news media not only mainstream resources...

    • @MadAcez
      @MadAcez 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jamie Clarke Who wouldn't criticize Russia. They just invaded sovereign land.. again. Listen, Russian is just like all the corrupt power houses. The West. The East. All neo-colonialists with an interest in the acquisition of power and wealth by all means necessary. No side will tell the truth. No side will side with a cause unless its in their interest (acquisition of power and wealth). However, I don't see how this man is anti-russian. All his reports are done live, in the moment. There is no staging and no manipulation of information. Vice has done plenty of balanced reports that make light of wrong doings in this manner. They expose them in their most blatant forms without being one sided. For most of their reports, they expose the corruption of the modern condition from all sides of the globe (many times from the West). So, I don't see how you and Nikisright can consider these reports one sided. I like this dispatch series. It defines the 'what you see is what you get' concept. If your not happy with the way Russia is portrayed then you obviously see what Putin's mob is doing yet you feel the need to deny it, probably cause you fell victim his propaganda.
      Nikisright , they did do a piece on Donetsk. Showed A lot of Putin sympathizers beating the crap out of Ukrainians. But you're right, however I doubt they wont report on it again..
      chantal chauvet , I like how you say 'leave Ukraine'. I don't disagree. If they hate it so much and love Russia so much and that Putin was so worried about their well being and their rights, why don't they just go. Honestly, Putin's invested so much militarily, why wouldn't he invest the same to accommodate them back to the 'Mother Land'. Makes him look better than a conquerer and a colonizer, wouldn't you say? But remember this is the same guy that locks up Russians for practicing their civil rights within Russia! Personally, I would have my doubts as to what he's really up to in terms of his plans for Ukraine...
      You guys need to stop falling for what the Government/Putin's and Corporate/Western media are saying. For everyone's sake, do some balanced research and don't look away from the real facts. A sovereign nation is under attack by another under false pretences just like every other war waged by neo-colonialists. Like I said. West. East. All the same different propaganda..

    • @Quietstrenght1
      @Quietstrenght1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MadAcez Germans wrote an open letter to Putin. They connect Putin's dots of the story. It is a very interesting read. I suspect it will be in both media by the end of the week. Too tired to find the link right now.
      It is actually getting quiet amusing reading both East and West propaganda stories. I always guess how long it takes for the other to pick-up the story...
      The problem is with the Ukraine crisis I don't think there is ONE nation that has not had not received a broken promise from the US. How can anyone trust anything they say? They are presently doing damage control regarding spying in Europe ans setting up dissident social media in Cuba.
      That is not the main reason why I mostly believe Russia's side. It actually started when I stepped backed and looked objectively at the Western articles...they smelled fishy. A couple news reports looked staged. I then researched, researched, researched. At the moment Putin makes more sense. However, if he does invade Eastern Ukraine then he is a liar and everything said about him is true. Since he has mostly done the unexpected, I think, because everyone expects him to cross the border, he won't.
      As for Crimea, Crimea is unique as it has Russia's military historic base. End of story. Besides, at this point I think trying to force Crimea to go back to Ukraine would bring trouble with uprising from the population.

    • @MadAcez
      @MadAcez 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      chantal chauvet, First off, I really appreciate your composed response to my comment. I admit, I was a little hot headed when I wrote it so thank you for the non-agressive tone. Sorry if I sound a little heated in this comment.
      I see how you can side with the Russian side of things. Especially when it comes to Crimea. Personally, at first, I thought Crimea has a majority of ethnic Russians and thus a lot of sympathizers. So who cares if they decide separate. If the majority asks for it then let it be. However, like you said, I researched and researched and found that Russia wasn't necessarily in the right. It has invaded Crimea more than once before. In fact, as I'm sure you know, it deported almost all of its indigenous population; the Tatars. So there comes a point in this whole conflict where one needs to consider the history of the region and how it could take precedent in the argument against Russian occupation and secession from Ukraine. Truthfully, a historic military base is not the answer. Nor do I believe that a majority of Russian sympathizers is the answer either. One could make the argument that Democratically speaking, the vote on March 16th was perfectly lawful democratically correct. But what happens to the concept of borders? What happens to the idea of sovereignty? What happens to the Ukrainians, the Russian-Ukrainians and the remaining Tatars?? (some never received an invitation to vote)... There are boundaries that need to be respected, processes that people need to go through before such a major event happens. The result of this election means nothing to anyone because none of the criteria needed for a proper, recognizable separation had occurred and Putin knows this. This was all calculated. All it did was cause disruption which is exactly what Russia wants.
      You're right when you say that to force Crimea back to Ukraine would cause more trouble. Now that Russia has set in motion its tools of disruption within a sovereign nation, all it would do is set a chain reaction of disabling events further disallowing Ukraine's right to a nationalistic movement away from the oppressiveness of Russian influence which is why all this happened. Russia doesnt care about Crimea nor does it give a crap about Russian sympathizers. All it wants is the control it lost over Ukraine during the revolution and Crimea and the 'cause' for occupation is just a tool to attempt to get it back.
      Thanks to Putin's thirst, the side effect of such a move is that Crimea will be stuck in this identity crisis for a very, very long time. Honestly, had the revolution unfolded and had Ukraine settled down, maybe there would have been space for another movement in Ukraine that would've allowed for something like secession. Who knows? All I know is that Russia purposely caused the disruption and that the idea of separation only became a hot topic once the Russian/ Putin's media outlets launched their propaganda campaign of the false 'Fascist' threats to ethnic Russians in Ukraine. None of this chaos would've happened if they had kept to themselves. But of course it was inevitable. Tis the nature of today's Powerhouses of colonialist ideology. Sad that people dont see this.
      On a side note, I like what you said about the U.S and what doing to Cuba nowadays. Another example by a neo-colonialist powerhouse trying to seed disruption in a sovereign nation by any means necessary..

    It was right decision to bring the members of Right Sector to the Ukrainian army trainings. Real patriots are now staying on the border ready to defend Ukraine not making chaos in the capital. Everything was calm and ordinary in Kyiv after Janukovych had gone except for two nights when these guys messed things up.

      Are you STUPID!? those A**HO**S kill normal people left and right. Are you one of those bloggers the US government paid to write massive amounts of garbage about Russia and good about the bandits who illegally took control of Ukraine? Do you know something called MORAL VALUES? Those people threw the people in the office of the previous president's political party into the basement and threw Molotov cocktails at them. Is this normal for you? Do you think this is ok? If so, go to a psychologist now. Please people, snap out of it. go back to normal.

      MaxTheMan I'm not sure you're answering my comment cause your reply doesn't really rely to it. But if so, you don't have to worry about my knowledge because I'm Ukrainian and native Kyivan and I really care about my country's future and I can see everything with my own eyes unlike you, one of those Kremlin bots with empty accounts who post the same messages on every single video about Ukraine telling people lies about Russian "liberation", Ukrainian "fascist bandit government" and other nonsense trying to discredit Ukrainians. "Paid by US government, blah blah": that sounds so familiar - typical behaviour of any Putinist troll who don't recognise any other people's opinions besides what Russian propaganda dictates. It's just ridiculous when Russians speak about morality.

    • @maxtheman5207

      See. that is all you can say. "paid by Putin", "don't recognise any other people's opinions". that is all you say. Did you even read my comment entirely? as I can see, you read only the first couple lines or so and the last line.
      Also, I just wanna check. do you support the EU integration? Because I don't know if anyone actually remembers, but this whole thing started because some terrorists decided to support the EU integration and use it as coverup to take over the government. Do you guys still support EU integration? I'm just curious if anyone still remembers.
      Also, can you please answer my question: Those people threw the people in the office of the previous president's political party into the basement and threw Molotov cocktails at them. Is this normal for you? Please just answer. Do you think this is absolutely OK? This will explain a lot to the people.

    this is an inter-Nazi issue among the Euromaidan groups and it should be known. Vice Reporters are deliberately hiding this in effect and it seems at this point quite conscious. Right Sector, who are Banderists (a collaborator of the Nazis during WWII), is at war with Svoboda (a more mainstream and a more actualized Nazi Party, literally they refer to themselves as "social-Nationalists").
    Svoboda member Vasily Sergiyenko was murdered by Right Sector. What is happening in this video is a product of that event.
    Euromaidan is for all intents and purposes a far right movement. The leftists are incredibly weak. Vice News keep your hack reporting going

      TheHomoludens look up the meaning of an invasion, shots don't have to be fired for it to be considered an invasion.

    • @MadAcez
      @MadAcez 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      TheHomoludens Wait so your backing Yanukovych's/Putin's order to shoot live rounds on innocent protesters protesting oppressiveness. Who the hell are you?
      As for the invasion. Below, I've compiled the step by step process of Russia has done in Crimea in case you missed what's been going on.
      1. Armed men enter Ukraine from Russia and descend to Crimea.
      2. Meanwhile, Russian propaganda falsely claims that 'Fascists' are on the hunt for the rights of ethnic Russians.
      3.Russian popularity grows in this predominantly ethnic-Russian region of Ukraine i.e. Crimea. More fall for the propaganda.
      4. More armed men from Russia make it down to Crimea which is sovereign Ukrainian territory.
      5. The armed men recruit victims of the Russian propaganda in Crimea and name them 'Self Defence Forces..'
      6. (This is an important step, pay close attention) Armed men with tanks and advanced weaponry intimidate Ukrainian soldiers in an attempt to get them out of their basses. If successful, this would be a step closer to total military control of Crimea.
      7. Many of these armed men not wearing insignias threaten an all out battle against these Ukrainian Soldiers if they not leave their basses.
      8. After a while, many Ukrainian soldiers were forced out of their basses. In some cases, there were in fact shots fired by the armed men whom we now know are Russian military. However, they're still not wearing an insignia
      9. Meanwhile, the Russian military creates checkpoints ensuring that they make their presence known. They take over the role of law enforcement and eventually Crimea is claimed to be Russia
      So far, to most people, this is what you call an invasion. Hope this helped.
