That slash that starts shooting at you but then realises you are typing and just stops shooting at you. That is some next level manners :)
I left that in the video for this exact reason :D
It really made me smile that there is a game with a community that does selfless things like this ;)
@MeAnd SomeRandoms there are a few of them, i can assure you! ;) Do it yourself too and people will follow.
Will do ! :)
In Quake you are a huge scrub if you take AFK kills. lol
I'm so happy to see people jumping on the Quake train.
RIP people used to military shooters xD
MaitreMechant why do i imagine a COD Vet all like "ok time to 360 no scope these losers" *RAIL GUN ROCKET LAUNCHER COMBO BITCH* Then proceeds to get beat down
I'm joining because rocket jumping from TF2 seems useful
Sagiri Izumi lol TF literally started as a mod for quake.
..
Team Fortress was first known as Quake Team Fortress and it was a Quake mod first released in 1996. It's amazing that people don't know this.
Old Quaker here. Man, I have to say, the vids you make are doing A LOT for community, you've got a gift of transfering knowledge to all these new players, this game needs people like you. Thanks!
Got 29 kills on my first match.
Looks like playing Quake 3 when I was a kid actually helped.
without a doubt! :)
The first few matches you play are matched against bots. Sorry
Francisco Tomás Carribero first online matches I played were with real people, unless bots can now converse in conversations and I won them by a decent amount (instagib, not that good with standard death match since no game sense, only aim
I only had 17 because I played unreal :(
@@tomaskorn86 holy shot ima have rough time against real players then because I got my ass whopped by bots? Na those are real players
Learning Quake + CTF and Dueling was THE MOST REWARDING GAMING EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE! Once you learn and I mean REALLY learn the game, it's just rewarding and addicting. You can move so much faster , shoot so much more accurate, your map knowledge, item knowledge and predictability (them, not you) just go through the roof. The game is simple from a new players perspective, but the rabbit hole never really ends. You can do some insane shit in Quake. I miss the good ol Quake frag movies that would come out every week.
I just got this game on steam(which was free)and it is one of the best shooters i played for a long time.I love the skill gap, fast gameplay and how you can get amazing with practice in this game which modern shooters doesn't offer.I'll definetly stick with this one
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I recently found the early access to this and downloaded it immediately, thinking “hey, a free game”. Did not know what I was getting myself into.
"focus on not dying" best life advice I've ever had!
As someone who has always loved quake for a long time, but never been a very strong player thank you very much for taking the time to put together these videos, very much appreciated. And hopefully they'll help entice more players to the community.
this game is amazing.
Hope cft gets added and it has the grapple hook from quake 2
it's a fucking disaster, ql is way way way better
Heroxigen !¿, "This game does much better than Quake Live statistically for now, and way more people are picking it up." yeah, and it's pretty sad. Fucking 12 year olds dictating trends.
:23 yeah quake live is much better
Gzus Kreist um, actually the best FPS is SpongeBob
I first played Quake (3) on Sega Dreamcast (M&K on console?? WAY ahead of its time) and was hooked since..Quake4life!!!!
"..guns flailing." Now that was a downright poetic description of getting started in quake :D
First time I had this much fun playing a game in nearly 20 years! Felt like coming home!
Quake helps you develop a PhD in physics
to be proofen xd
Not sure about that but Titan Fall 2 certainly does the job!
realism in video games like this is a BAD thing
thats half life
@@manumaster1990 How come?
Great video. Content like this really helps push our little community into something bigger.
Yeah I never mind dying in this game because the players are so damn good it’s cool
You gotta commit to learn movement aiming and map sense
Aaron Bowley they've been playing since quake 1 was released in 1996
For the most part surprisingly, most players are nice. They aren't toxic, and they say "gg" in chat at the end of every game. I haven't tried ranked yet however.
I started play in Quake 2 - And your video probably if me and some people see in that time a lot of things will be more easy - So hear this guy, it's correct.
I know QC is all but dead now days but anyone still looking to get into it I highly recommend playing expert or nightmare bots whenever you don't have anyone to play with or can't find a lobby etc. It's not like other games, playing difficult bots in this game is actually really good practice - especially for learning the maps and practicing map control. The fights can be much easier than real players, but there are also times when the bots decide to straight up aim bot and it can improve your aim and reaction time with things like the railgun and lightning gun.
I played other fps before QC, and that helped me. But it took maybe 20-40hrs to be in top 3 most of the time. Now at 700hrs some matches are like a walk in a park and some are tough as shit. There are always going to be someone better than you, and losing is fine.
There are always things to practice and so forth. If you want to get good, you can also watch pros play. Names were mentioned in the video. Also, this guy makes really good tutorials.
Thank you for everything you do for the community FrothyOmen!
Subscribed.
Thanks for the comment. Just happened to refresh only a few seconds after you posted! Glad you're enjoying Quake so much -- you've got me beat on hours!
FrothyOmen Yeah, cant really play anything else anymore :D I would love to strafejump in every game. I tried some Prey and automatically started jumping around. I cant play anything other in OW than Pharah or Tracer. Rockets/speed.
Everything is so slow :D
played for like 4 hours today, quake is probably officially my secondary game. cant wait for more of your guides :)
Lava what's your main one?
SKÆRS TF2
Quake live is much better even with just playing bots
Really wish I had this video when the closed beta started, I've been playing quake off an on since Q1. Never really considered myself amazing, probably played Q2 the most in College. But, now that you mentioned it, and watching my daughter play Overwatch, Quake truly is the most difficult newb-unfriendly shooter I've ever come across and I love it for that, it takes a whole lot more work to get good than other games, especially what's out now. Thanks for the tips, I'm going to go back into the training maps by myself until I get strafe jumping down, and I realize (been playing since the closed beta) I'm way too aggressive and get killed too often because I just rush into enemies when I see them, this game is about tactical survival more than run and gun.
I recently played the game and i gotta say i had a blast
Even though I have quite a good understanding of all mechanics and stuff, I still find your videos useful and interesting to watch. Thanks for the good content!
To be honest, everything you've said in the first minute pretty much also applies to TF2, a game I have been playing for over 7 years. Games are similar enough that some mechanical skills transfers from one to another.
So right now I don't really have problems with things like bhopping or rocketjumping despite having just started without playing any Quake titles before, but it's the gamesense I'm struggling with. This video was rather useful in that regard. Thanks!
uhrguhrguhrg the original team fortress was a quake ii mod
Schmitz Gaming ^ quake 1*
uhrguhrguhrg eyy fellow Tf2 guy. I'm fresh in 1000 hours how about you?
ArdillaCompany. Nice work
Sagrirero I was fresh in 1000 hours 3 years ago but TF2 has been dying since then
I was regularly getting top score on matches when I first picked this game up during the free period. I thought surely it wouldn't last. It didn't.
Very glad to have come across this video. I was getting discouraged playing against people who would crush me most of the time. Time for me to practice more detailed mechanics.
Good luck! Keep practicing 😁
yup same story here, back in the closed beta i was winning handily... but now...
Fresh accounts are first sent to play with bots. Bots are pretty helpless in QC unless it's instagib mode.
You are very methodical accurate and thoughtful with your advice and genuinely are doing your best to provide usefulness to your audience as apposed to trying to further your channel popularity selfishly and I think that is fantastic and I have learned a lot from this video
You are very welcome :)
Now that it's F2P all the videos I already watched of you actually help me playing the game
First of i want to say that i like and appreciate your channel.
Haven't played Quake since Q3 Arena so you are a excellent source to re-learn old things somewhat forgotten. When i first heard of Quake Champions i got intrigued but at the same time skeptical towards it because it seemed to have very mixed reviews, so i didn't buy it in the end. I finally picked it up this weekend when Bethesda gave it away to whoever downloaded it within the dates it is free to play. I must say it feels very quake in a fresh way, cant consider myself a quake purist because the various classes doesnt bother me. Its actually very fun and hard at the same time, it makes you wanna do better to get that guy who obliterated you with rocket launcher. Don´t really like lootboxes and in game currency but it doesnt seem impact actual gameplay so that becomes more of a non issue. Anyhow you got yourself a new subscriber.
The game has evolved and improved since his debut very much imo. It is worth it now to play it especially since is free, and it will keep improve no doubt , it is still in early access.
Thing about qC it's one of the most competitive games, yet it has the best community I've seen in a game
Getting into Quake several years late, thanks from 2023 Frothy!
Can't wait to put my hands on new PC and play this awesome title. I'll never forget countless hours I've played with my cousins in Q3A on two pc's via lan.
Finally a quake TH-camr, please don’t quit making these
I'll do my best!
Awesome video, I love how you are possitive but also realistic
I’m just now playing quake for the first time but I’ve always loved fps games and I’m loving the movement system. The movement systems just just feels like second nature
Good vid Frothy. Always appreciate the positive outlook on multiplayer games.
I started on the 12th and now I'm level 30, I think I've gotten a lot better at it, and you are quite right when you describe it like a trial by fire because of how much you have to adapt.
Just discovered your channel. Thank you so much for your videos; they're really good and easy to follow, and you're nice to listen to :)
Got the game during the E3 promotion and am so glad to find out that you were making videos! This game is scratching the shooter speed itch I was missing after playing Titanfall 2!
Honestly, I’m not sure why I haven’t given this game a try long ago. I love how fast it is, even more than titanfall. Within my first few games I got a 25 kill game, so I feel like I’m going somewhere. The movement is super fun, even more than titanfall, thanks for recommending this game, frothy.
yeah, that's a cool illusion of "going somewhere" created by the fact that first games are played with bots. I believe that is made to make new players suffer even more and completely destroy their ego
I have been playing quake for years and I must say that this video hit everything on the nail. Totally spot on with what a new player to quake needs to know and watch and not be discouraged. Really good job! I wish this kind of advice was around when I first started playing. I could not have said it better myself.
well i was lucky enough to get thrown into games with a few bots. so i learned how to do stuff quick, i found out how to rocket jump from epic clips of people doing it.
i just picked up this game.. did two games and had a 58 kdr.. after a few games i started noticing i couldn't hit anything because the enemies started moving faster and faster.. i then started watching you videos, thanks alot for your guides, helped me out a bunch catching up!
Frothy, thank you for your videos.
and don't forget about ssg, mg&smg, it looks like you're not giving this guns too much attention.
as for the topic. guys, do not to be very upset when you're being annihilated by skillful payers. skill is just a matter of time and practice. to become better you must lose. try to watch some videos from championships and see what pro payers are doing during match. watch the movement, watch positioning, watch what weapon player is using due to different situations and distances.
gl hf =)
Thank you for leaving in the clutch/crutch goof... i love stuff like that that makes theae types of videos more human!!
Damn, u made Slash look fun as hell to play with all that sliding, I’m gonna have to practice her now
Nice vid. Constant jumps map control speed and accuracy with the rocket. That was exactly how o used to play back on the old quakes. This was a blast from the past
Just keep quaking, till fragging is second nature
0dum Right on. Don't forget though, true Quakers don't just frag, they also defrag lol.
Good video. Great information. Thanks. this is my first Quake and i'm having fun, even when i''m losing. Practice, Practice, Practice
That speech at the end tho
haven't seen this many kinds of these videos in this simple of terms keep up the good yt and twitch content
Just picked it up since it went free and loving it so far even though I have no idea the mechanics of the game. Being a competitive Halo player coming to this game is a little different but I see the similarities in it. Eager to learn more!
Nathan Ravesteyn yeah if it wants to grow it's user base it has to, every other esport game is cross platform or on pc
Grizzlycougar halo was inspired by quake and other games that came out before it
@@doom5895 yeah explains why I like it so much
Amazing video!, having never played quake champions before this was really useful, combined with quake live experience its made my games so much more fun, thanks!
Ahah, Freudian slip there about Clutch reliance ;) 100% on getting used to double-jump of Doom, though since I switched to Slash as primary, I find it difficult to play any other champ. Plus, SHE HAS A TAIL!
Awesome video Frothy! Thanks for doing a proper "How to play Quake" tips and tricks! Cheers.
Downloaded the game a couple days ago, getting my ass handed to me is not rare, but man with this game sometimes even getting my ass handed to me can sometimes be fun. Can't wait to see future content for this game
I got into quake champions when it was closed alpha and I liked it. I played a lot of quake 3 arena way back when and was fairly good at it but I noticed that I had lost A LOT of mechanics of these type of shooters over the years and while I had fun with the game I kept getting bodied more times than not. But after watching this video and your tips I might be giving the game another shot and to make an effort to get good at it.
So thanks a lot! :)
Dude you're rad, great tutorials. Stoked I found your channel!
Thank you! Happy to have you :D
I like ur different aproach.. u say its alright to get mad and frustrated but learn from it.. better than "just deal wth it"
Its so satisfying to watch u play...u should upload some of your game for our viewing pleasure....we might be able to learn a thing or two as well...
I stream this game quite a lot on Twitch, if you want to see raw gameplay, that's the place to be! I'll be live starting at 6PM EDT every day this week! www.twitch.tv/frothyomen
New to the quake series, the community has been great. No toxicity like csgo. The learning process is quite infuriating, but it’s so fun I have to just keep practicing. You make it look easy!
Great for newcomers! Spread the word!
Thanks Frothy this quake champions guides have been great help. Simply knowing how to bunny hop around the map has helped me a bunch in my first few games.
Quake is a masterpiece... i gotta admit. I play Overwatch for over 2 years and never played Quake in my life before, i started playing Quake a few weeks ago, i recently improved a little bit just enough to win some deathmatchs at ease, it seems insignificant in Quake but this experience made me become better in Overwatch. i mean, it's not like i'm crazy good now, but the difference is becoming quite clear. Quake made me see how important movement, map control, positioning and survivability are, way more than kills.
I mean... i probably should have learned all of this before since they are important for pretty much every competitive game. but i never played a game like Quake that is as hard to new players than it is to veterans, most other newer and more modern games like League, Dota, Overwatch, CSGO, etc. are noob friendly compared to Quake. My point is: i never felt necessity to learn any of this because i never needed it to win matches against players of my level (mid rank) in others game.
english is not my primary language, sorry for any mistakes, feel free to correct me, but i hope i spoke well enough for you to understand
I'm so glad you had such a positive experience playing Quake! I say this all the time, playing this game is going to make you better at every other game!
thanks for answering me.
is kinda hard to see someone who actualy cares about his fanbase. you got a new follower =)
CSGO noob friendly compared to quake...
What xD
i'm just talking about personal experience, i played cs for some time and the game didn't destroy me or punished me for not knowing some of the mechanics or having perfect knowledge of the map
i'm enjoying a lot, quake is so much fun
i'm also trying to bring my friends to play, it doesn't have players as much as it deserves
Thanks for the share! Lotta great tips in this one ^.^ I try to remind players I meet who sometimes get discouraged, that "we all have to start somewhere" and that (to some extent) experience will transfer over to other games. Everyone starts out as a beginner/newbie ^_~ but as mentioned in this video, after a few weeks of practice (as in almost anything) you'll be turning the tides of matches and enjoying the nuances of games, which might have seemed 'tricky' at first. Goodluck and have a fun time!
>Avoid Doomguy as much as possible as a new player
As a new player, Doomguy was my first buy. Because, as a guy who is nearing 2k hours sunk into Team Fortress 2, Doomguy feels like the Scout, with his double jump. I admit, I suck as Scout, but as he is my tertiary main I try to apply how I play Scout to how I play Doomguy. Is it working? Sorta. Quake and TF2 are two separate engines with two separate movement styles, but I still feel like a little of my skills can carry over. The Nailgun feels like the Needlegun without dropoff, rocket launcher from both games feels kinda similar, super shotty is a slower firing scattergun, etc etc.
The game is fun though, even if I suck and can only really play a few matches a day before switching off for whatever reason, steamrolled, other cravings, etc.
I've been playing Quake for over a decade now and can remember that process in this video. I remember being in t2 in Quake live back in browser and jumping from t2 to t3 and then t3 to t4 for along time and then one day I was finally just t4 gold. Then I started dueling and it was the same thing over again I finally hit t4 but quit dueling for 5 years or so. When I was though I was good at timing and throughout that time I wasn't dueling I focused on my aim for years where I'd get upset if my lg wasn't 25% then I hit 27%, 32, 35, 38, 40, etc. Now in Quake live I use the lg only when I know I can hit it and now my lg accuracy is always around 40 - 60. It's mainly about 50% and 56% 85 percent of the time though.
Then once I went back to dueling again recently just on and off. My timing is awful xD but my aim is on point where even in a duel I still hit a consistent lg and rail gun accuracy. I have always had problems with the rockets though for whatever reason I'm just back and awful with them. Not sure if it's my small monitor and it's 60hz refresh rate or what.
But I love your videos and even as a great player like me I enjoy watching to this day pros playing and tutorials much like this. It is probably the only game I am constantly studying and preparing for that exam of achieving the highest grade possible, and maybe one day be a even better player that can duel in the Greek God zone. All I need is Danny Devito from Hercules and my Sword, you wanna be my Phil Frothy???
Yeah, the mouse input in QC needs work for sure. Glad you're enjoying the game despite your hardware limitations, and thanks for sharing the guides!
been quakin' it since '99!
no name fool ikr
@no name fool probably not but I'm quaking since 99 as well
even though i didn't really mind starting out bad (still am tbh) and having to dig deep into yt to learn the game it does somewhat feel like the game's lack of tutorialization and alternate modes has held back the game from seeing mass appeal again which is a shame. what got me thinking about this was street fighter 6, a similarly complex long standing game dominated by longtime high skill players. unlike quake however SF6 has seen a boom of success with praise for its thurough yet optional tutorialization and excellent optimization+netplay on top of seperate singleplayer mode that further accentuates the basics of gameplay. seeing that definitely makes me hope for the chance of a future quake game grabbing the spot light for similar reasons, but at least the population is still active enough and i still have a lot of fun even when killers are handing me defeats left and right
Im subbing to see more Quake Champions content!
Recently came back to the game and played some tdm with what seemed like new players. For all you newbies out there good on you for hanging in there, quake can be brutal for beginners.
I just want to say if you are starting focus on the following:
1) learn strafe and circle jump. Even just basic understanding helps with map traversal. You need to get on armor or a good weapon, especially if you play light champs.
2) learn about stacks. Know how armor and health works. Know about mega and heavy/red armor.
3) Have a basic understanding of the holy-trinity of weapons. That is the rocket launcher(rl), lightning gun(lg), and railgun(rail). These three are arguably the most powerful and useful weapons in the game. They each excel in certain range and situations. They also act as counters to each other.
4) While standing still is usually not a good idea, strafe jumping from room to room isn’t always good either. Unless you are rushing down someone with rocket or lg, strafe jumping right up to the enemie’s face makes you an easy target. Know when to go fast and when to go slow, when to chase, and when to fall back. In fact, depending on the weapon the enemy is using there are certain ways you move to make yourself harder to hit.
5) Positioning is important. You don’t want to be standing still in the middle of a big room as you can take fire from multiple directions(especially in death match). In TDM you generally want to stay around your team, so you have backup. In duel you see pro players keep an engagement distance. Unless committing to a fight they generally stay a room away and typically have a fall back option.
6) Map knowledge comes naturally, but’s it’s always nice to know where your favorite weapons, health, and armor are.
7) Finally the default machine gun/super machine gun can be pretty good at range. In close range you might get bursted by rocket or shotgun, but at range when enemy have trouble hitting you with rail, it’s surprisingly effective at shredding the enemy’s health.
Gonna be on this channel alot trying to learn this F2P game
劉 It's not F2P right now but it will be in a couple of months or something. Watch his last vid and you'll understand!
Ultr4 Glitch3r
it is, until 18
Eduard White Oh yeah! Sorry , I'm dumb :P
Thank you for this! I was starting to get really frustrated and now I'm motivated.
Easy to learn hard to Master. Love QC I was in the team that was complaining about Champions and abilities and stuff. Damn I was WRONG. Game is just AWESOME!! CHampions are well balanced and game is improving Very fast. New Gore system is Amazing but entering "the arena" is Hard and player must be patience or skilled ;)
I actually played Quake Live FFAs on and off "casually" for like 5 years without learning anything about the games mechanics besides strafe jumping which I was taught how to do CPM style by a few kind individuals in the community and then somehow I figured out VQ3 on my own. Never wanted to watch videos on Quake because I always wanted to naturally get good at the game myself.
But when Quake Champions I figured I'd finally have to start learning some **strats** if I was going to play team games and didn't want to be a burden, and the major item timing thing was something I had never even thought about while playing, I never questioned how enemies seemed to know exactly when the quad would spawn and why I would die so quick. It was damn mind blowing when I saw this video and I felt like an idiot for not recognizing it sooner but I was so excited to try it out.
But for the past 3 years I've been playing Quake "seriously" I've had a blast and have been pretty much addicted to it. But not in a bad way, the amount of focus I feel when playing the game has actually helped me a lot with learning how to manage my ADHD. Thank you very much for this video.
I personally am struggling to learn strafe jumping consistently. Really love the game just wish they could put in a tutorial for strafe and circle jumping
It's tough, man. If you've already seen my videos on it, it just boils down to practice from there.
Yeah, I have and still watch them to work on my technique. Sometimes I build up speed pretty quick and other times I can't seem to do it for the life of me. I usually practice with ranger. Funny thing is I've been playing FPS's for a long, long time. But competitive Quake is a whole new ball game lol
I think I just had a breakthrough. You HOLD the strafe key to gain speed?? At least I do with ranger. I can zip up to 600+ ups in no time now! My circle jumping however is still a work in progress (still suck at it)
Thx, Nice guide , not boring! Unlike many guides out there
Looking to get this game when I get home today, I've been playing overwatch for 2 years now and I really just see it going downhill. I've watched a few videos on quake and it seems really interesting. I know it wont even compare to overwatch in terms of playstyle but I've been looking for something new to try until smash bros ultimate comes out lol. Hopefully I find myself enjoying this.
I hope you enjoy it too!
I always was a unreal more type of guy, but i got it for free after e3 and im just hooked into this game, i really like heroes type shooters, afterall TF2 and OW are my favorite games today, thanks for the video
Oh wow, we both transitioned from tf2 to quake lol, nice.
v legit hax the original team fortress was originally a quake 1 mod
he meant titanfall 2
im playing team fortress 2 and quake alot right now
Thank you very much for the tips quake champions is my first ever quake game
I’m really new to quake, but I love the movement style of Anarki and Sorlag. I learnt strafe jumping and circle jumping but I love the smoothness of airstrafing. Would you say starting with these champions is a bad idea?
Not at all! I was the same way when I started
As long as you know the movement wont play the same with other champions you should be fine, hell i hate air movement, with CTF on the rise this is a good trait to build on right now, keep at it
You're so great, i got addicted to Quake just by watching your vids and trying your tips
ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Being new is REALLY
REALLY HARD
I just picked up the game for free on steam yesterday without knowing anything about it exept that its a hardore tryhard game so I was expecting to get recked. I dont know if its because I wasnt in a ranked match but I carried my team and destroyed my opponents with ease. I just picked an RPG and a blue laserbeam without knowing what they were used for, started bhopping around (thx csgo) and totally annihilated them. I think this game is awesome and I am going to continue playing it even if I start getting destroyed because my luck goes out.
when I played this game for the first time yesterday I destroyed everyone.
Same. I destroyed everyone in quick-play but then I came to competitive played 5-5 and god mid-bronze xD
I guess I gotta learn maps before trying to dominate people in ranked -_-
Pavel Sikun I don't think it really matters since as you are playing more you improve and your rank should reflect that. Otherwise what is evene the point of ranked?
the first few games are agaisnt bots so really you destroyed bots
yea i didnt notice till i googeld it either
I thought i commented this for the profile pic lol
Its good to go back to arena shooter to spice things up
Love this game
Don't give up the game is so rewarding! Check out my first video to where I am now. Hard work goes a long way in this game.
As a "noob" un arena shooters I really appreciate this kind video
Btw I play as keel
Keel's in a great place right now! Good pick :D
FrothyOmen that extra damage (skill) is sometimes is a good for finish blow or just surprised kill XD
Her* lol and yeah bhoping with her is fun
keels a amazing character
I played when the beta was initially released but got bored pretty quick due to limited map selection. Now seeing that it's pretty diverse, I'm looking to get back into this game. I'm a big Overwatch junkie but I'm starting to get burnt out and I need a little bit of variety in my FPS library.
They still don't have a decent tutorial in-game yet. You did all the job for them, wtf are they waiting to just link ur videos in the game for new players, they will learn 100x faster than this ridiculous "look left, right, now crouch, jump..." 5 years old training they did.
I really like how You say it made me a better player in general. I have learned it with Heroes of the Swarm when a lost match was also fun to play, because You always learn a little bit more from that. Secondly Dark Souls 3 this game sucked me up and failing mechanics actually made the game more interesting and challenging. Love You tutorial, keep up the good work.
I am playing quake since 96, so this vid is unnecessary for me, BUT big thanks to You cause you did this for a new players, cause when i started with qauke nothing like this was available, in fact even internet was available. So once again Good Job !
Dont take me wrong dude, i am watching this channel regularly, plenty of nice vids, but even some of them are not "for me" i am glad that someone is helping to Q community. Maybe due to those vids we have FULL Servers :D
It had been years since I had played an arena shooter last. I grew up on quake and unreal tournament so after a bit of an adjustment period, this game definitely feels sort of oddly natural to play. AND its great damn fun. Feels good, looks good, sounds good. It's a damn fine package.
As always for anyone new to arena shooters. Just try to have fun. Getting good comes second. Having fun should be always first. When you are having a good time, you eventually start to get better, then you can start training the more advanced movement, knowing some specifics, map timings and such.
ahhh maaan i wish i saw this video and the one about movement earlier... now i have an urge to reinstall the game :D
Do it! :D
i did actually xdd
This game is so good, i just started yesterday, subscribing right now!
haven't had this mush fun in a long time with a video game.
also wy is visor considered a hard hero
I'm not sure he really ought to be considered hard. The only hard thing about him is that his active ability doesn't directly deal damage to enemies, but that hardly stops him from being top tier.
oh ok, i thought there was like some hidden untold movement mechanic behind him.
Thanks
IIRC the only Visor-specific movement thing is that he has no theoretical speed cap when strafejumping (the ingame description isn't very clear), but I'm not sure if it really makes a difference in practice, considering level layouts and such.
ok cool
Thanks
Bless you frothy. It really didn't help when I started that DOOM was free at the time and he's my favourite out of id's titles, dear god I gimped myself.
Stop telling other people how to get good. I struggle enough as it is.
jay sullivan ??????
It was a joke about him telling my competition how to get better at the game.
@@BgBullBS hey look guys, a fucking trihard
@@vallecend6855 his comment got deleted but i looked at his channel and wtf
Thanks Frothy, this was something I needed to hear. I've been playing Quake Champions since the beta release, but have been frustrated by my lack of understanding and failure in the game. I (believe I) have a fair understanding of the mechanics, but sometimes (in fact a lot of times) I get into battles and think "what went wrong!?" and I really don't know.
Certainly had quite a few spells away from QC (personal issues) which means I have forgotten a lot of the things I have picked up. Trying again with the new patch and a bit of the old one. Headaches a plenty still to come I'm sure.
