Visors ability to initiate a fight is has high impact in duel and 2v2, being able to see where they are setup for like quad can mean you do enough entry damage to push them off/kill them. I'd say in runnings for the best champ in the game ATM.
My favorite about this champ is the non-game stuff. Before QC came out everyone said his active was too OP and would break the game. Then they had to go and buff Visor about 3 different times because it was so bad compared to the other champs.
I'd say it's a wise move on the devs' side to make him the weakest it can be, considering how inherently controversial a WH ability is in the Quake community. If they didn't have to buff him after the release, there would be a lot more people sticking to QL instead or moving to a different game entirely.
First. I like that you use old Unreal Tournament music at the beginning of the video. Second. A good way of giving info as visor is just saying the closest weapon to the enemy. I didn't do it but a guy did it for me and it was very efficient and simple.
random tips for visor: in duel, you can use wallhacks when in control of a big item right when it's about to spawn to check where your opponent is. that way, you can know if he might get a steal, if he's in a position to get baited by the item, or if you can just take it and go do something else on the map. you can use the same kind of thing when out of control; if you suspect you're getting baited at an item, or if you want to get timing on it, pop wallhax and check what you're opponent is doing. this is especially true since the scoped rail nerf, but when waiting for people with sight, remember to not keep your railgun or LG in hand; the sound cues are pretty quiet in this game but they're still there and it might give away that you're behind a corner to some more aware players. this is a more patch-specific one, but since tribolt has such a good velocity right now, if you're ambushing someone in a tight corridor (for instance someone coming out of top light armor on blood run), it might be a good idea to prefire one tribolt burst before switching to rail for more free damage; depends on situations a lot though. in 2v2, remember to use your sight as soon as the match starts; it allows you to make use of vials early in the match, which means you'll probably have walls back by the next big item spawn, and on most maps you'll be able to predict what your opponents are up to and strategize accordingly which can give you a very good lead early one.
I appreciate the usage of beta Unreal music at the beginning. I've only played Visor a little bit, mostly for TDM or Duel just to see where my opponent is and try to beat them to any goodies or surprise attack them. I'm mostly a Ranger and Galena player.
My main since the beta. To me it's the purest Quake 3/Live character, since the active ability doesn't stop your move flow or does any damage that changed fights. I really like every champion, but Visor is by far my favourite tool of destruction.
Visor is a fantastic learning tool IMO for figuring out where the paths lead in the maps. I use Visor first on duel always, so I can build my stack and avoid my opponent until I feel ready. But also I'm still learning the new maps in this game. I know blood run and campgrounds (sorry, blood covenant) like the back of my hands. But those other maps are still kinda new to me. I have a rough idea of where I'm going but not enough. It's great to use visor and to try and figure out where they are, and what you can do to cut them off. Gives you a whole lot of options once you start learning that.
I hate myself for not getting the Ushanka for him (I don't remember how does it called in English but I hope you understand I'm talking about fur hat with red star)
They should really improve their passive definitions. I had no idea before what visor's passive did and was told it gave him no speed cap, which still didn't explain why he felt so powerful for me even when I didn't use wallhax. Better acceleration explains it well and is not nearly as vague as "improved strafe jumping". This is a problem also with anarki and sorlag and even doom slayer's "silent protagonist" to an extent
UT music in a Quake vid?! All I can say to that is... well played. Thanks very much for your video guys. I've only started to get into the beast that is Quake a couple of days ago. They've been a big help.
Everybody is talking about foregone destruction, and I get why, it's damn good. But I really didn't expect to hear the CvS2 Nairobi stage music, really good choice, that was a fantastic game.
Visors infra sight is useful when 1v1ing any player in any game mode if you're doing 'ring around the Rosie' on a wall , set of doors or pillar, especially on Burial Chamber and Blood Run.
Did my first duel last night and also won my first, 1st place in normal deathmatch mode. I often hold back as the game is new and I don't want to discourage the players who are either new to Quake or returning after a long time. (like myself) That being said these matches are intense AF. I find myself running Visor or Galena the most so far, although Ranger is quite nice IMO, my preference is DoomSlayer for DM as my personal countermeasure against Scale Bearer. As a duel newb (1match only) i did prefer to bring Visor out 2nd towards the beginning, maybe first if I just lost a round and by round 5 Visor was kept for last. Unfortunately for me the opponent shook off their nervousness to take the lead with a quarter of the round left and then put my visor down almost as swiftly to secure a full win. Loving this game so far cause even when I lose, it still feels like one hellova match. Gg wp & gl hf
depends, i bumped into players (my teammates actually) on TDM that would stay on weapons for a good 5seconds (the whole team did it !) and it was really annoying
Also if you use your sight at the begining you will know is mega/RA delayed or not? You can get a timing for the items if know the map well enough. It will help you catch an enemy on rotation or steal that jucy mega/RA. This ability is super usefull that's why it has such a long CD.
Great video! Very informative and helpful. If you plan on doing another, could you consider doing Nyx or Sorlag? Those two and Visor have been catching my attention.
I've learned that visor is the absolute best for gauntlet kills. got 8 gauntlet kills yesterday with him, he is fast as fuck boi and can see people coming from around corners
I just downloaded a game and randomly picked him because he was in the free champion rotation and won 6 team matches straight with 40 kills lool im insane, cant wait to buy him when I have enough favor
I think the first few games are with bots to kind of give you a boost of confidence lol. I know so because there are a list of names that the devs used for them. Google it. Don't know why they don't say anything about them beforehand.
Hey, just recently found your channel because im a "new" player to QC. Great Game, and great content from you, helped me a lot already. Do you have a tip for dealing with multiple tanks in the enemy team ? Because my matches tend to be like that, i rarely see other classes then that Noobtubeguy (forgot his name) and Scalebearer in the enemy team. And its quite frustrating to run into multiple people at once when you dont know the maps that well yet, and they simply outtank you. Thats why i may go for Visor once i learned the game more, currently im very happy with the ranger besides this one issue. Thanks, and keep up the good work! Hopefully the Game keeps the pace up it gathered the last days.
Thanks for the answer. Damnit, im absolute trash with that thing :D is it worth it to play with the zoom ? because i rebound pretty much everything (due to your keybindvideo), using RMB for jump and moved the whole WASDQERF over to IJKLUOP, because of my short-ish arms and big keyboard. Very happy with it, but its a bit hard to use zoom on alt (next to spacebar), but i rarely use it anyways, it puts me out of the aimflow too much. But then again, im new, so i guess i have to work on that. Because i often have situations where i get 1-2 direct rockethits, try to finish them wit the lightning-gun, and they kill me with 30hp left. Its a bit overwhelming for a noobie to get a feeling for the damagemodel, especially on tanks.
Not as experienced as Frothy here, but zoom is complete preference now. Many people prefer to use it at long range and when holding angles, but I agree with you on the aimflow and rarely use it myself. Sometimes just doing a rail only round of TDM can force you to improve with it.
thanks for the reply. I guess its because im on a new mouse and slightly new sensivity settings, and also tend to "predictfire" alot with this weapon, even its not the right choice for this one. Guess i need to get my ass whooped more, but hell is it fun! Also the Community seems pretty cool so far ;)
Watching games that rapha commentates is pretty helpful for learning duel imo, not only for visor but for the other champions as well. That being said it's not a fast way of getting champion specific tips because you have to sift through a bunch of footage.
I've found going against visor in duel I end up anticipating the ability and play defensive around corners. Really helped me counter his hacks by thinking I already had a sight on me
If you've already got ranger and galena, Visor is a no brainer :) He certainly can help you accelerate a bit faster than the ones you mentioned, that's for sure.
Yo frothy you made me check out the gam eagain and i really love it, for osme reason i like it more than i did in CB Can we expect a galena tutorial soon? im thinking of buying her or visor
Nah, he gets life and armor quickly, he can fulfill him/herself while you're waiting for respawn. Remember, armor and health is not that rare in the game.
For ranger, it'll all come with practice. The easiest telefrags are when people go up lifts, they float in the air and are easy prey! I recommend ranger the most for new players. Galena is a great first buy.
Fantastic videos. Subbed. I really hope QC gets refined a bit more and garners a faithful following (and a few n00bs so n00bs like me can practice fighting them as well as those insane guys I meet almost every match I play).
Hey frosty quake champions has really grabbed me by the balls so thanks for these tutorials i'm thinking about buying the champions pack is it worth it or should i do the free2play grind?
Foregone Destruction.. goddamn it. I just wish Epic would have cared about UT at-least as much as id cares about Quake.... It seems they abandoned development in favor of Fortnite. What a bummer... EDIT: Is that C&C Red alert music at 8:05 o_O?? Thanks for reminding me of not one, but two of my favorite titles ever that are now more or less dead :'(
Is there a strategy (not visor related) for dispersing the enemy groups on tdm? I feel like every other tdm I play the enemy team is a giant cluster (not close enough to just RL them apart) that dishes out so much dps its hard to actually make an impact on their ranks
Positioning. Focus on grouping with your team, play passively, set traps! Catch them in transit from one powerup to the other if they are cycling the timing on those well!
Visors ability to initiate a fight is has high impact in duel and 2v2, being able to see where they are setup for like quad can mean you do enough entry damage to push them off/kill them. I'd say in runnings for the best champ in the game ATM.
How about doom?
Marius doom has fallen off. People prep for his ult and then he's kinda useless. Mostly used for his mobility now.
Hearing Foregone Destruction from UT99 in the intro put the biggest smile on my face
Brandon Jackson same here dude !
totally agreed mate !!!
Чики-брики и в... I mean, "You can't hide from me!"
Been around since tf2. He deserves more subs. Wish lawbreakers hadn't failed
No really ur concise but nail the quality
I'm on Xbox tho
There is a lawbreakers community rework in progress
My favorite about this champ is the non-game stuff. Before QC came out everyone said his active was too OP and would break the game. Then they had to go and buff Visor about 3 different times because it was so bad compared to the other champs.

Hmm, I hear "Foregone Destruction (UT3 remix)" in the intro. Good shit.
Yup, this is what makes us UT players get automatically hype. This is the original mix from 99 though.
Background music is from Unreal Tournament. Wow!! Reminds me of old days.
Uhh, eleven hourglasses is definitely 110% of your cool down. Not 90%. I r dum :(
FrothyOmen could you do a mastering video on Nyx.
hes gunna do one on all, they just take time to make
NERDISTB3ACH Twitch +1 for Nyx guide
You played against XQC
First. I like that you use old Unreal Tournament music at the beginning of the video. Second. A good way of giving info as visor is just saying the closest weapon to the enemy. I didn't do it but a guy did it for me and it was very efficient and simple.
why don´t people play the new ut
New ut? You mean that worse version of ut2004 with 'updated' graphics that nobody cares about and a fucking GRENADE LAUNCHER?
That intro with UT sound track... Good old times!
random tips for visor:
in duel, you can use wallhacks when in control of a big item right when it's about to spawn to check where your opponent is. that way, you can know if he might get a steal, if he's in a position to get baited by the item, or if you can just take it and go do something else on the map.
you can use the same kind of thing when out of control; if you suspect you're getting baited at an item, or if you want to get timing on it, pop wallhax and check what you're opponent is doing.
this is especially true since the scoped rail nerf, but when waiting for people with sight, remember to not keep your railgun or LG in hand; the sound cues are pretty quiet in this game but they're still there and it might give away that you're behind a corner to some more aware players.
this is a more patch-specific one, but since tribolt has such a good velocity right now, if you're ambushing someone in a tight corridor (for instance someone coming out of top light armor on blood run), it might be a good idea to prefire one tribolt burst before switching to rail for more free damage; depends on situations a lot though.

7:44 WAT
Dat outro music. I see you're a man of culture.
My main since the beta. To me it's the purest Quake 3/Live character, since the active ability doesn't stop your move flow or does any damage that changed fights. I really like every champion, but Visor is by far my favourite tool of destruction.
Visor is beast, loved him and Anarki since I started Q3, and even more glad that they suit my playstyle in QC.
Visor is a fantastic learning tool IMO for figuring out where the paths lead in the maps. I use Visor first on duel always, so I can build my stack and avoid my opponent until I feel ready. Fuck discussion. The smoothness and quality of your vids is just too good. Subbed for Quake but now I'm just loving watching whatever you put out.
Interesting music choice. :D
visor is Russian
frey0r CHEEKI
I hate myself for not getting the Ushanka for him (I don't remember how does it called in English but I hope you understand I'm talking about fur hat with red star)
earhat, но это не точно )
Actually I didn't know he was russian till i was briwsing for items and then "wait, what? ushanka?"
roady kin But he always speaks Russian, да и кто-то спалился
We need an art of Visor squating and "drinking" with his visor on
Really enjoy your videos because of the practical logic behind them.
Thank you!
I love the "WAT" from the guy who gets the gauntlet coming around the corner.
They should really improve their passive definitions. Hotline Miami at 6:00

Music selection mastery 👍 😂

Love your guides, they are by far the most educational that I've found. I'd love to see a guide for Doomslayer Aka Doomguy.
me too
"perhaps the most tortured and damaged champion in the arena,"
oh. didn't know this was a Galena video. ;)
Oh, I already watched this, whatever it’s Frothy I can watch it all day
🤩
best visor guide out there !
Love the Unreal music, Brings me back
Good video. Love the Facing Worlds music.
Did my first duel last night and also won my first, 1st place in normal deathmatch mode. the game really feels like its constantly rewarding you. no matter how much you play, there are only ups, no downs. the perfect drug
depends, i bumped into players (my teammates actually) on TDM that would stay on weapons for a good 5seconds (the whole team did it !) and it was really annoying
Nice thumbnail! And the music makes the video even better!
7:43 That Nyx got outplayed so hard that even I can feel the pain here man, ooooof!
Foregone Destruction ? I see you are a man of taste.
Unreal tournament music in a quake video lmao, the day has come.
Also if you use your sight at the begining you will know is mega/RA delayed or not? You can get a timing for the items if know the map well enough. It will help you catch an enemy on rotation or steal that jucy mega/RA. This ability is super usefull that's why it has such a long CD.
Good point, watching your opponent take power up so you know the timing is super cool. Never thought of it before.
ty! never thought about this. I see pros pop it all the time at the start and couldn't understand why. tmyk
Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Song. #NOSTALGIA.
"You can run, but you can't hide"
Awesome video, man. Love the music used here.
AAYYYY, Bandit Radio =D
0:04 was that the real xQc of OW?
Hahahahahaha of course you had to put that song in the end in the visor guide
Couldn't resist!
Fun Fact: The Bandit song is not Russian, it's Ukranian. But I think you're referring to him being a slav.
Yeah I was. I was thinking of visor wearing tracksuit pants, with a bottle of vodka and sitting in the slav position.
I'll probably spend my favor on him, I'm just waiting for new free champion in rotation now :D
And now visor is the free champion! you predicted it...
thx for video, cant wait to see ur other upcoming guides
The soundtrack from UT
personally my favorite champion
This is my first video ive seen from you but i will definitely stick around for more great job :P
Thanks!
Frothy you are good enough!!!! don't be too harsh on yourself on stream.
Great video! Very informative and helpful. If you plan on doing another, could you consider doing Nyx or Sorlag? Those two and Visor have been catching my attention.

7:35 comedy gold.
I just downloaded a game and randomly picked him because he was in the free champion rotation and won 6 team matches straight with 40 kills lool im insane, cant wait to buy him when I have enough favor
if they were your first couple matches, they were bots i think
i think there are enought real players at the moment so why bots?
I think the first few games are with bots to kind of give you a boost of confidence lol. I know so because there are a list of names that the devs used for them. Google it. Don't know why they don't say anything about them beforehand.
Great video man!
As always, another great guide :)
Keep it up Frothy :)

Focus on the railgun more, only takes one shot to clear off nearly all their stack!
Thanks for the answer. Damnit, im absolute trash with that thing :D is it worth it to play with the zoom ? because i rebound pretty much everything (due to your keybindvideo), using RMB for jump and moved the whole WASDQERF over to IJKLUOP, because of my short-ish arms and big keyboard. put zoom on a pinky key, I play esdf movement keys with A to zoom @23rubel
I hope you can do Clutch after you finish the Slash video.
Watching games that rapha commentates is pretty helpful for learning duel imo, not only for visor but for the other champions as well. That being said it's not a fast way of getting champion specific tips because you have to sift through a bunch of footage.
Thanks for another terrific video. Top notch! Keep up the good work. 😁
I've found going against visor in duel I end up anticipating the ability and play defensive around corners. Really helped me counter his hacks by thinking I already had a sight on me
Would you recommend Visor for a new player that enjoys Ranger, but has a hard time keeping up good speed? Or should I stick with Ranger/Galena?
If you've already got ranger and galena, Visor is a no brainer :)
He certainly can help you accelerate a bit faster than the ones you mentioned, that's for sure.
Hey, that BG music is from CVS2!
+1 for a great guide and CvS2 music.
Also HOTLINE MIAMI.
And cheeki-breeki
Yo frothy you made me check out the gam eagain and i really love it, for osme reason i like it more than i did in CB
Can we expect a galena tutorial soon? im thinking of buying her or visor
Soonish, I'm doing Slash first then Galena is next.
7:45 nice Soviet March on the background)
I'm surprised u didn't talk about his strafe more. You can shoot while jumping backwards, away from enemies at Mach 5
So can any other champion, that's not a special trait of visor
FrothyOmen. Oh.
FROTHY, its cherry from stream, great video my dud
Sweet a guide for the next champ I'm buying
Love your videos man
now i must play cheeki breeki when fraging with comrade visor
On duel, if your enemy is low after killing you, chasing him with visor is a good idea.
Nah, he gets life and armor quickly, he can fulfill him/herself while you're waiting for respawn. Remember, armor and health is not that rare in the game.
This outro music makes me feel nasty KKomrade
I like to use visor as 3rd pick in duel because if am behinde when time is running low the enemy cant just go hiding.
This the video I've been waiting for
bro u killed xQc at the start of the vid
any tips on how to get more telefrags as ranger?..and also what champion should i consider if i just got in the game?
For ranger, it'll all come with practice. The easiest telefrags are when people go up lifts, they float in the air and are easy prey!
I recommend ranger the most for new players. Galena is a great first buy.
FrothyOmen thank you very much for helping out...definitely deserves a sub...keep up the great work!
Fantastic videos. Subbed. I really hope QC gets refined a bit more and garners a faithful following (and a few n00bs so n00bs like me can practice fighting them as well as those insane guys I meet almost every match I play).
Your videos helped me get good at Quake, man. Also, you kinda sound like Will Ferrell.
Speaking about Quake Champions. Using Unreal Tournament music as background music XD
7:45 So owned, Phiwise doesn't even now which game it is :D
Hey frosty quake champions has really grabbed me by the balls so thanks for these tutorials i'm thinking about buying the champions pack is it worth it or should i do the free2play grind?
Absolutely worth buying. 20 dollars is a steal for not having to grind EVER.
Foregone Destruction.. goddamn it. I just wish Epic would have cared about UT at-least as much as id cares about Quake....
It seems they abandoned development in favor of Fortnite. What a bummer...
EDIT: Is that C&C Red alert music at 8:05 o_O?? Thanks for reminding me of not one, but two of my favorite titles ever that are now more or less dead :'(
Good ear!
the soundtrack at the end of the video ? please :D
ur aim is so smooth
You wouldn't say Clutch or Slash control their opponents "like no other?"
Oh i missed that music... UT2 right? Do you know the title of the track?
Facing worlds theme song. First result if you search for that on YT.
I noticed some Hotline Miami in there.
Hey you are a great youtuber you will be #1 qc yt!
I'd love to see a Nyx guide when you have the time
Forgone Destruction
What happens if a player using Strogg is controlling peeker and you kill him (Strogg)? Does he continue to pilot peeker?
No, peeker will also die
How come there's Unreal Tournament music for a quake video?
Visor: "HAAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAA".
Is there a strategy (not visor related) for dispersing the enemy groups on tdm? I feel like every other tdm I play the enemy team is a giant cluster (not close enough to just RL them apart) that dishes out so much dps its hard to actually make an impact on their ranks

I have no inSight (heh) but your music selections were awesome!
