Yeah the day wasn't about 'see who can damage their car the quickest'. That's not off-roading in my opinion. You could probably take an old Falcon with a welded diff through most of this stuff but it wouldn't come out alive.
@ back in the day you would often see Holden and Ford Utes with LSD’s up the Cape… Admittedly not going through “gunshot” but you can actually drive around that and I could never understand why you would choose to do that.
@@13stabitha13 - or the Prado or the old Pajero or the Everest or the (now old) Trailblazer, the MU-X. There was a guy back in the day that converted an AU Falcon wagon into the RTV off road version and it went pretty far for a RWD with diff lock wagon and ATR's, the 4L has big balls down low.
Ah good ol Albion Park ... the burgers are better at that Hungry Jacks!. Serious, I glad that the BP there still has LPG pump otherwise I'd be in trouble heading down to South Nowra which is the next LPG pump. Be careful going around Kiama S-Bends and heeding either into Gerringong of Berry as Southern Highway Patrol are sneaky, shame that new highway is limited to 100km/h, can easily do 130km/h safely all the from Gerringong to Bombadary. As for the Navara, overall its old but from where the D23 Np300 in 2015 but Nissan fixed the rear suspension with dual rate springs and stiffer dampers, shame the steering is like jello, I guess its neutral but yeah its slow. The engine is ok for a Renault turbo diesel and the 7 speed can be driven in semi manual mode so you can lock it on 7th gear for the flat highway cruising. Give credit to Premcar for the "Warrior" treatment, would love to see Premcar also do the new gen Triton.
Been on that track many times Bret with my previous Ford Escape (the 2003 ZB 3.0L V6 with Lockable centre diff for 4x4 High range), you do need at a minimum ATR tyres if you do the narly stuff as you and your buddy did but yeah no need for 4x4 Low Range or Rear Diff lock good if you have it but not needed there). What you displayed in this video those at so call Expert website cant replicate.
cool wish we had a LC300 in the states gas Would be ok , most of our wagons are more 3 row luxury Family school bus than utilitarian , Nissan frontier pro 4x gas v6 na , and we are getting a new Nissan (patrol)armada dumb name , pro 4x model but will be more of a 3 row luxury Family school bus love the sound of a diesel
Wish we had those diesel power plants here in the states. Nissan abandoned a proposed 4 cylinder diesel made by Cummins here in the US for the D40 platform. Huge offriading culture diffeeende heee in the states is the obsession with obsessively large tires. Don’t see it that much in the southern hemisphere off-roading. Taller tires might help with an extra inch or so to help clear some of the obstacles
I honestly don’t find the interior that offensive, yeah some of its competitors may be slightly more modern but definitely wouldn’t say it’s unacceptable.
Special thanks to Andrew for helping with this test, and great to see the 300 Series being used for what it is designed for 👍
Ive always liked the looks of the Navara. Always enjoy your videos, down to earth.
Thanks. I agree, it's a great design.
Excellent video, mate - Andrew's a legend and good to see a couple of 4x4s getting put through their paces!
Thanks mate
As a warrior guy, i foudn the old stuff is still there because it works SO MUCH BETTER and alot more reliable then the new stuff
Fair enough.

Great to see sensible people driving vehicles like they paid their own hard earned money for them … instead of “come on mate, just send it” BS!

Nothing beats a Landcruiser!!
Except for a Patrol

Great looking nissan navara 4x its worth 10 upgrade . Which gps are you using ?
Andrew was using 'Newtracs' maps. I was using Google Maps via Apple CarPlay in the Navara.

What type of/ brand is the shocks on the 300?!
JMACX
Yeah the tow bar on the navara is terrible. Sticks out and hangs down too much. For the price of the Landcruiser, a diff lock should be standard.
the dashboard design is unacceptable
