Are you ready? Hey
Are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat, yeah
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust (yeah)
(Another One Bites The Dust-- Queen)
I cant find a more appropriate thought or song for this one! This list just keeps growing!
It sure does
Thanks for another informative video. Another radio to add to the "no fly zone" list. The sad part is that a lot of new hams can only afford to purchase less expensive equipment. It would appear that many manufacturers don't care about the FCC requirements and simply produce radios knowing there is a large market of of people who don't care about testing and regulations. When I got my license, I agreed to follow a set of rules in exchange for the use of band space. I like the bands I operate on so I follow the rules. On the flipside of this, when I first got my technician's license, I didn't put a lot of thought into this issue. However, when I got my general and then extra class license, I was much more aware of such things. Thanks again for a great testing...783...Hugh...KN6KNB
Hey Hugh. I’ve talked to many that seem to be unaware of the regulation.
"The sad part is that a lot of new hams can only afford to purchase less expensive equipment" That doesn't mean they have to buy Chinese JUNK. I got my Yaesu FT2900R 75 watt 2 meter radio new for $139. If you can't afford that, maybe you should find another hobby.
Anyone doing this type of test should seriously consider making a retail purchase of the model in question to avoid any "special treatment" given to the individual radio from the manufacturer in hopes of a test pass. Completely random samples from the market are always the best representation of what is really in the market and what the consumer can expect. I am not at all surprised that this model didn't pass. Been there, done that. LOL THANK YOU APE for all you do for our hobby! 73
I was thinking about the same thing that way they won't know what he's doing
Thanks for watching as always Hollywood 👍
Putting that $1000 Analyzer to work.
Yeah, been using it a lot lately 👍
Bought it stolen or? $1K is about a third of a SSA3032X where i live..
@@MrDacorp yup...you are right
I have the 3021x which is about 1.5k
I have the TYT 9800 quad bander, (10M, 6M, 2M, 70CM), and wonder if you have that to test?
Sorry, I don’t have one ☝️
Ape nice job!
Thanks Chuck 🍻
hello, is there a possibility to extend the frequency to uhf to go over 440mhz?
Everyone looks at the cheaper radios for spectral purity, I have to wonder if the higher priced big name radios are any better?
I’ve tested high end radios on the channel. They do better.
Thanks
Thanks for watching 👍
Wow interesting
Thanks for watching 👍

Right
Cat videos are out now that I know about Big Cat.
Lol
I'm wondering if the anytone version passes. Is this a clone or a rebranding?
From what I can tell it’s rebranded not a clone
@@TheSmokinApe I have my answer. Thank you sir.
Have you ever done a Alinco DR-735T ? When I got mine and turned it on I went to repeater 147.165 it came up 147.165.5 is this off frequency ?
I have not testing the Alinco but 500Hz off seems pretty far to me...
Does FC regulation account for cable and antenna losses (that would also reduce the harmonic)? I am guessing not, although spurious radiation at the harmonic would nor (IMO) raise a compliance issue.
It does not, it’s for what is coming out of the antenna port 👍
So , what does this tell me? Is the radio off frequencies or what are you saying?
We are testing to see of the radio produces out of band harmonics which is a no-no...
Has anyone tested the Anytone version in similar manner?
@@farmerdave33 not that I am aware of…. Plenty of reviews saying how great it is though 👍
Not going to argue the merits either way, and I don't own that radio so I don't have a dog in the fight, but I predict that if any DB50 owners find out their radio is not spectrally pure, the number of them who decide not to use it will be a grand total of zero.
I suspect you are correct
@@TheSmokinApe You can tell who owns one as a mobile radio. Just follow the car that triggers blasting caps everywhere it goes.
@@N2EWSRadio 👀
We can either make good decisions ourselves or have the FCC restrict us tightly like other alphabet-agencies do. I was dam# sad to lose the use of one HT I have which I liked a lot, but it was cheap so no big loss really. Most won't care and that's what is going to eventually kill Ham radio as we know it.
Don't knock the cat videos! 🤣
#CatVids4Lyfe
does Radioditty make anything clean or are they like a feng?
Well technically it’s an Anytone
That interesting.Their is only a 2nd harmonic. the 3rd and up is filtered out. May be a filter tuning issue in the 2 meter final section. It is trying but some make it out. This may vary radio to radio like the UV-5R ones. that are all over. no 2 test the same. Poor quality control. Did you check the FCC ID on that radio? Part 97? I wish they would set a standard for UHF. But most test great on UHF . A simple band pass filter will work but radio wont work 70CM with that in line. Them power readings are within spec. Everything in line has a tolerance. with all that in line I say power rating is a pass. Glade you point out that blue line does not count over 25 watts. but still a fail . 73
I didn’t check the fcc ID
Well I guess I better find a cat vid.😉 Ya gotta get paid, maaaan.
Haha
Dayum! :/
Hey Don
Doh!
Right
"Radioddity" = "Radi-oddity" not Radio-oddity.😋
That’s what I said?
@@TheSmokinApe0:02 "radiooddity" with an extra O. Lol
I could swear I said it right
Why even bother with CCP radios? I doubt you would find any problems with a Yaesu, Kenwood, or Icom radio, even if it was made in China. It's the Chinese CCP brands you need to watch out for.
Generally speaking, yes
What a shame.
