I’m 54 and just heard this song today for the first time. If this song had been around when I was 15, it would have been one of my favorites. Taylor Swift is such an incredibly creative story teller and it’s so much fun to listen to some of her older songs and see her metamorphosis throughout the years. I think I was maybe 52 when I sat down and listened to a bunch of her music for the first time to see what all the hype was about. And immediately, I understood why there are so many Swifties.

Anyone going into high school, heed this advice. This is my senior year, and these are the years when people start becoming who they will be, an adult, not a child. In elementary school everyone does the same things, they do what they're told and don't know any better. High school is when people start to choose their path in life, and that process is very hard, and some turn their anger and frustration on those around them. Good luck, enjoy, and before you scream think, is this who I want to be?
High school is what you make of it. It is a time for self-discovery. However, I think it's important to understand that high school doesn't define you, and it will not be the highest point of your life. High school will be very rough if you care too much about what other people think of you and if you have bad friends. High school will be a lot less rough if you try not to care too much about other's opinions about you and you try to surround yourself with good people- people that are nice and care about you. Enjoy your time in high school but remember what the purpose of high school is. (I might be a little biased here, but this is my opinion.) High school is to prepare you to be an adult. That means try to do your best academically and also try to work on improving yourself as a person. A lot of people care too much about their popularity in high school, but that doesn't matter at all in the long run. What does matter in the long run is how you grew as a person in terms of character traits (integrity, work ethic, communication) and in terms of academic knowledge. Haha I'm rambling now. I'll end how I started. High school is what you make of it. Try to enjoy it, and realize that you have to take initiative to make the most of it. Good luck!
DarkestKaos and Michael Folk pay attention this will slap some sense into you two: I've been out high school for almost 3 years now and yeah thats not true at all sure in elementary school people just have no clue what they want to be, but in high school its kinda the same thing half of the people who graduated with me didn't know what they wanted to do and they figured it out they didn't rush. What Im getting at is if you don't know what you what to do after high school thats ok just don't rush into anything just figure it out one step at a time. In fact, it's probably better that way because you don't have that much experience as high school student, whereas once you're out in the real world, you have many more experiences to base your goals around.

High school will be a lot less rough if you try not to care too much about other's opinions about you and you try to surround yourself with good people- people that are nice and care about you. Enjoy your time in high school but remember what the purpose of high school is. (I might be a little biased here, but this is my opinion.) High school is to prepare you to be an adult. That means try to do your best academically and also try to work on improving yourself as a person. A lot of people care too much about their popularity in high school, but that doesn't matter at all in the long run. What does matter in the long run is how you grew as a person in terms of character traits (integrity, work ethic, communication) and in terms of academic knowledge. Haha I'm rambling now. I'll end how I started. High school is what you make of it. Try to enjoy it, and realize that you have to take initiative to make the most of it. Good luck!
DarkestKaos and Michael Folk pay attention this will slap some sense into you two: I've been out high school for almost 3 years now and yeah thats not true at all sure in elementary school people just have no clue what they want to be, but in high school its kinda the same thing half of the people who graduated with me didn't know what they wanted to do and they figured it out they didn't rush. What Im getting at is if you don't know what you what to do after high school thats ok just don't rush into anything just figure it out one step at a time. I didn't know what I wanted to do in high school. Im still trying to figure it out thats ok, So don't say people know what they want to do/or to be when they are out of high school because half of the people I graduated with didn't know what they wanted to do.
Well, I'm a junior in college right now. I never said that you should have everything figured out and neither did DarkestKaos. DarkestKaos said that high school is where people start to figure themselves out and what they want to do. I said that high school is where you start to work on yourself academically and as a human being. I agree that its okay not to have everything figured out in high school. In fact, it's probably better that way because you don't have that much experience as high school student, whereas once you're out in the real world, you have many more experiences to base your goals around.
