I’m 54 and just heard this song today for the first time. If this song had been around when I was 15, it would have been one of my favorites. Taylor Swift is such an incredibly creative story teller and it’s so much fun to listen to some of her older songs and see her metamorphosis throughout the years. I think I was maybe 52 when I sat down and listened to a bunch of her music for the first time to see what all the hype was about. And immediately, I understood why there are so many Swifties.

Everyone’s commenting about age but the real message of this song is that when you’re young, innocent, and it’s your first love. You fall hard. And most times you’ll get hurt and it does changes you. Haha I only dated someone for the first time when I was 18, and had a kiss then too. I didn’t like that kiss though & we broke up 3 weeks in. At 20, I kissed a boy that I really like, and it was absolutely magical ❣️We’re dating now, and I sure hope he’s the one who marries me because he’s definitely worth my love. I suppose we will see though :) Anyway my point is, things might not happen right away but you’ll find somebody and have a first kiss, a first date and all that comes in between. Just be patient and don’t rush into it with somebody you don’t actually care for. Cause if you do you’re basically leaving it to be less special than if it’s with somebody you’d give your heart to. Taylor's oldest best friend Abigail just got married and this is so emotional. She attended Abigail's wedding you can tell it that Taylor is a good person despite all the rumors about her. This was my anthem when I was 15 now that I am 21 even though I do not really listen to her new songs now but, she will always hold a special spot in my heart, knowing that I grew up listening to her songs. Someday when I am 80 and gray, her song will start playing on the radio and my heart will warm up with all those gone days, gone people, gone moments. Only beautiful memories of the past. Everybody saying how this song hits different when you are 15. It doesn’t. It hits different when you are grown up and you realise that what she said about feeling 15 was exactly how you felt and how insignificant love and all this heartbreak can be at 15. But when we are 15 we think it’s the end of the world. But it’s not. I really think this song conveys so much and relates a lot when you’re grown up and look back.

Update 2! So it’s my birthday again, and 2023 was an interesting year. It was honestly the best year of my life. I definitely struggled a lot with my mental health and insecurities, but I’ve learned that life IS worth it, everything will get better with time. I’ve also spent lots of time with my sister and we’ve become very close again. Had a great year with Taylor too! Saw her and concert, watched the grainy live streams for the speak now tv, and 1989 tv announcements, and saw the tour movie! To anyone turning 15, or who already turned 15, I hope you have the best year. And thanks to everyone who liked and commented very sweet things, they all made me smile
