- Acute Kidney Injury previously known as acute renal failure is defined as the sudden onset of renal impairment, resulting in retaining products in the blood that are usually excreted by the kidneys.
Here, Dr. Mike explains the 3 categories of AKI.
I've been watching you since anatomy and physiology 3 years ago, I'm in nursing school and here I am still watching you!
You're a great instructor! Thank you
This video is amazing! Truly! I do not know why my professors are incapable of explaining patho/manifestations of specific conditions the way you do - but THANK YOU for taking the time to do this. I do not learn from reading a dry textbook - at least not without a foundation of basic understanding. My professors are not able to provide this basic understanding foundation - THANK YOU FOR DOING it for them :)
5 weeks to graduation for my RN, exam on this next week. THANK YOU, your channel is one of my favorite resources on youtube.
The Zac nephron joke is genius 🤣🤣
Great lecture 🥰🥰
Yes! this explanation is clear cut and to the point. Can you please do one for CKD?
I absolutely love your videos. They are clear and concise and you present topics so well. Thank you!
Sir THANK YOU so much, you saved my life and my grades. I wanna be as good as you at teaching people, i’m in love with your way of teaching!! Good luck
Thank you again; I believe understanding stems differently with the lecture material- Professors have their own style of teaching & will explain the material to a whole class - & only a certain of those students will have understood the material while others do not. So having these videos to help explain the information we did not comprehend earlier is probably like the equivalent of understanding every lecture every teacher/professor ever gave! I appreciate your willingness to explain in detail & I know my patients and co-workers will also. :)
WELL, I FEEL GOOD ABOUT THIS NOW! Thank you kindly.
Dr Mike casually saving our livesssss. Thanks dude

Excellent Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Renophia Seyoe Rule (search on google)? It is a smashing exclusive product for boosting your kidney function minus the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my good mate called Gray after many years got excellent success with it.
Nahhh you're mocking it LOOL

Hi doc, my friend get ruptured kidney. Is it the same with AKI? How can I help him?
What are the common signs for kidney stones
please Dr I need clearfication you said in the first part pre renal and you explain the renin angiotensin aldosterone system In the end you said that if you give patient angiotensin 2 or ACE it cause efferent ateriole vasodilation how and the angiotensin 2 is a vasoconstrictor not cause dilation please help me to understand .thanks Sir
He probably meant ACE inhibitors.
Can your kidneys be damaged by use of diuretics?
thumbs up
Niceeeeeeee 🌸💜🌸💜🌸
Got a question: A patient with acute kidney injury has a decreased urinary output and a creative of 8mg/100ml. In which phase of AKI does this patient present? Initiation, oliguria, diuresis or recovery? This is a true question on my examination. I picked Oliguria but I really don’t know the answer and will not know if I got it wrong until a week from now
I guess it's the phase of recovery
What was the answer though ?
The serum creatinine being very high, this would be a class 3 AKI. So with the imbalances tending on the higher site, the damage would be quite intense and for the value to be this high, the kidney s filtration has to be severely impaired so it can't be any of the options. Though, oliguria seems to be the closest
Been there. It is hard. 300 sth .
❤
Dic how to dianosis a kidney injury or ckd? My serum creatinine is 1.4 and my bun is 25? How it is?
Damnnnn dude!! This is so sick. SURELYYY you put ads to get u some $$$ for ur hard work?
