Has been my favourite method this whole year. Piece of advice: - do NOT fluff up the upper layer, it can cause frizz. Do fluff up the inner layers for extra volume - Don't tie it very tight to your scalp, loosen it up a bit and you will have more volume in the crown area - always like to finish it up with some light oil, such as argan, on the ends - somehow it looks even better for me on the 2nd and 3rd after wash day, no one says you can only do it after washing your hair. I think of myself as some 50s lady, setting my hair overnight - Hair braiding always, always, always makes my ends look frizzy af, almost like I needed a trim 5 years ago and never got it. Maybe you have similar hair to mine, which is fine? - I also feel like it's helped my hair grow a lot, not just because I'm not using heat anymore, but also because I am wearing it in a protective style for so long. I do alternate the way I tie it and the parting to avoid any future bald spots or strain on my hairline.
REDinitial Oh gosh.... the braids and frizzy ends! I always have had the same issue.... so the robe curls method has been so amazing!! I always put the end of my hair part and kind of tuck it into the robe, that I fold around it, before I put my elastic around it! Works great and I hope it protects the ends a bit :). Robe curls are fantastic.
Coming back a year after this with further updates. My hair is now down to my hip bones, here are more tips: - I have had some layers put into it so it's not all down to that length. The layers help with how the curls sit but also with the weight of my overall hair. Although I have fine hair, it always tended to feel weighted down and would not hold a curl for long. Be careful though, layers can make fine hair look even more lacklustre or thinner than it is if not shaped as according to your thickness and face/body shape. I've had that happen to me in the past - I alternate the type of curl pattern by using different wrapping methods - I wrap all the hair in the same direction if I want more old Hollywood/mermaid curls or I wrap in alternate directions if I want more modern/Victoria's Secret blow-out style curls - I use different thickness bathrobe ties to affect the curl type, depending on if I want tighter curls or more relaxed, blow-out style ones - I use argan oil on the hair shaft every time I wrap my hair, which is most nights. Like I said before, I don't do this just when I wash my hair, I do it most nights like a 50s lady with her hair curlers; I find that for me the curls actually come out and hold our better the 2nd or 3rd day after washing, probably due to my hair type (fine, kind of straight-ish, not voluminous hair) - the result is that my hair is shiny af every morning and frizz free - I do admit my natural hair does not have an issue with frizz but since getting a balayage the bleached hair is more prone to frizzines and tangles - I do this most nights to preserve the curl, but also I found that it protects my hair when I sleep (I can't stand satiny sheets so I sleep on cotton/linen pillow cases) - I think this has helped out a lot with the rate that my hair seems to grow at, I was probably unknowingly experiencing a lot of breakage before due to not wearing a protective hairstyle at night - I tend to leave out the face framing pieces/ fringe and style them using heat in the morning if required (as they are way shorter in my case heat styling is usually required only once or twice and then I can wear the same curl but more relaxed for the rest of the week with no further need for heat)- I'd rather have some heat damage on the ends which I can cut away in time than thinning my hairline due to repeated stress on the hair roots - I naturally have a thinner hairline anyway on account of my fine hair
@@REDinitial Can you please recommend anything that dries hair faster without the need of hot tools? Do we need leave in conditioner? Also is the scalp massager good for hair?

Roll your hair, think Cersei Lanister, into two twists on each side, twisting away from your face then crossing them back twist over front twist. Then spritz it with water to set. I feel like i have to share this with you, since I found your videos so helpful. I have the same hairtype as you, even if I tend to be a little wavier. The thing that helped me the most was the Yellow keratin Liss treatment, which is an anti-frizz treatment . Not damaging, but a lot messy to do, it made the biggest difference for me!
You have kinda similar hair as me. What helps me a lot when I do no heat curls, is instead of spraying with just water, I mix in apple cider vinegar. One part apple cider vinegar and 3parts water. It gives a lot of shine and takes care of the friz, the curls old a lot better. Huge game changer! Oh I definitely am gonna try out these curls. They look great!!
Something that I have used for years now to help preserve and maintain curls bounce and their basic shape is Liz earles hair oil! you just put a small amount on your fingers and gently run it through and watch the curls bounce back! :D I always use this method with that oil on second day curls! I hope this helps
This look so good, I'm soo going to try this! I had never heard of robe (curls before. The curls I get from scruncing my hair according to the CG method gives me such weird, square-ish curls. This looks so much better! I'll try this in combination with CG products.

This method is top for wavy hair and your hair are Amazing now!!! If you always use some really good bio product for the leave in and a really good product for the styling (maybe something not so heavy and that doesn't make hair look greasy) the frizz effect disappear!!!
I tried this yesterday and was really impressed by the results 😍 What a coincidence even you uploaded a video trying this! Tip: You can brush and separate the curls using your fingers, it kinda gives more volume and natural look.
That's almost how I do my hair (same "principle"). I usually wash it in the morning, and then I separate it in 6 sections (I have a lot of hair lol) and roll them in curls with my finger. Because my hair is a tiny bit wavier, it stays like this if it's wet (but when it was shorter I couldn't make it stay, so I used some rubber sticks thing to roll the hair around and clipped the ends on the stick thing). Then i leave it like that until it dries naturally, apply some serum and it's ready! This allows me to BRUSH my hair the next morning (I leave it in loosen braids for 20 min after) and the curls STAY!! They last about 2 or 3 days and then I wash my hair again.
@@KK-cn6jv not really, my hair just stays that way, but clipping might help to make it stay as well! It's really hard to explain it by writing instead of showing 😅 but it's not rolled up, just rolls around itself.
Hi Isabella! Your videos are relatable, I've been on hair journeys as well, over many many years. I've watched a few of your videos a while back (before I had my channel and/or a youtube account) and just subscribed this morning! I've been doing heatless curls somewhat similar to this using a combination of robe braids and flexi rods and have had similar and manageable results. Definitely love doing experiments now and then on a day off at home (especially in case they don't work out lol!) so would definitely love to give this one a try! Haven't gotten a chance to try robe curls, and I've seen Shonagh's video as well... both these videos have inspired me to give it a go! Thank you! Fawn 😊❤👍
Also...if you read my previous comment...this wont change your natural texture but will make sure your hair is not getting overly stripped of it natural oils. Love your content!!
Hey Isabella 👋 let me tell u that u look gorgeous 😍 ...... I have watched all ur cgm videos .... And it helped me a lot .... I have kind of similar hair type to urs .... And I didn't necessarily follow the all the rules bc my hair is wavy .... but it was sad to hear in ur previous video that cgm didn't work for ur hair that well 😟.... But here is what I do - 1. Hair wash with shampoo (only the scalp ) 2. Conditioner ( detangle ) 3. Put the hair cream and brush my hair !!!yes its ok to brush ur hair when wet 4. Now I do denman brush technique ( u can search that ) 5. Or if it doesn't suit you than try fingers coiling .. 6 . Just air dry / do my work 7. When dry scrunch with some oil and serum . Trust me it is way easier than cgm ( also this works for me ... I wanted to tell u this as me and u have kinda a similar hair type ) Also after my first day of hair wash I sleep in a Braid ( bc that is kinda convenient to sleep , and it also keeps the hair wavy ) u just have to take care of the front sections like u can roll the front sections and then add it to the braid . Hope it helps 😊
I know a method to get curly hair naturally and it works for me perfectly. So what i do is: Take a normal shower as usual and while hair are wet i brush them and select hair in 2 sections. And start twisting them. That's all. I leave them overnight and when i wake up they get really curly. I think you should try it❤☺ Love you
So how come no one ha asked you… I’m dying to know haha How do you twist them? What size are the sections of hair you twist? Just all in one direction or does switching it up help? Then how do you secure the pieces of hair you’re twisting or are you twisting small sections in different directions? I’m just trying to envision this because I don’t see how that would create beach waves but I love to learn new things from people who find tricks and tips that work for them, too! Just would love to know how you make that work for you 😘♥️
@@Stephaniemickle well it's kind of complicated to tell so basically if you have long hair you wash hair and then brush them. Then you get them all and puts them in 2 sections. Idk if this makes sense. Like when you do 2 loose braids but this time it's twisting. You wrap them around your finger and just start twisting. Or u can do it with your whole hands. Just twist them and leave them until they get dry so u can see results ~~~~~ I hope this makes sense
I'm actually in shock that they held up so well to real life. I did not see that coming. I guess some setting spray would make them workable for an every day style.

This is gorgeous!! 😍 I'm super curious about the serum you're using, I'd love to know what product it is! 💕✨
This method is top for wavy hair and your hair are Amazing now!!! If you always use some really good bio product for the leave in and a really good product for the styling (maybe something not so heavy and that doesn't make hair look greasy) the frizz effect disappear!!!
OMG IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!!
You should try it the same day you wash your hair too, usually dirty hair holds curls better
I tried this yesterday and was really impressed by the results 😍
What a coincidence even you uploaded a video trying this!
The more I see you with that necklace the more I fall in love with it! So pretty 🥺💕
Ahh thank you :) I was inspired by Elle woods in legally blonde
She is fantastic and was a pleasure to watch her video!
Commented this on your last video, BUT please try sock curls! I have naturally unruly wavy thick hair and it helps tame and form my waves/ curls
You look amazing. I'm really happy for you that it worked so well! ❤️
thak you x
Thank you!
Fawn
😊❤👍
I’m so excited to try this 😭
DIY dry shampoo hack, corn starch. It’s my life saver and I add coco powder because I have dark hair.
Also...if you read my previous comment...this wont change your natural texture but will make sure your hair is not getting overly stripped of it natural oils. Love your content!!
Omg it looks so good! Ima have to try it
thank you x
Thank u a lot for this!! Will cut my hair in a few weeks, why not have some fun with it before that right? Much love!!❤️❤️
omg thank you for this video. I have hair that goes past my butt and I'm always looking for ways to make it curly
Enjoyed this ❤️ Merry Christmas 🎄
merry christmas to you too
This has nothing to do but you're sooo pretty! and the curls suit you so well. I'm going to try this.
This is what I always do to make sure my curly hair looks better and manageable..literally how I tame my curls 😁
she's such a moodddd😭🤣💛
That looks amazing. I wish you had described what you were doing. I image you picked up hair like a french braid? You are so upbeat. Keep posting.
Love the second day hair 😍
i’m so curious to know which serum you use to tame frizz ^_^ 💗✨
Your hair has grown alot since the last time i watched your videos!
I know this is late but if you do this again I recommend using a mousse or spray gel to give it hold and help with frizz
Your hair is really pretty Isabella ☺️
thank you x
Please tell me where I can get that necklace it’s so pretty 😍 also your hair came out amazing!!
But here is what I do -
1. Hair wash with shampoo (only the scalp )
2. Conditioner ( detangle )
3. Put the hair cream and brush my hair !!!yes its ok to brush ur hair when wet
4. Now I do denman brush technique ( u can search that )
5. Or if it doesn't suit you than try fingers coiling ..
6 . Just air dry / do my work
7. When dry scrunch with some oil and serum .
Trust me it is way easier than cgm ( also this works for me ... I wanted to tell u this as me and u have kinda a similar hair type )
Also after my first day of hair wash I sleep in a Braid ( bc that is kinda convenient to sleep , and it also keeps the hair wavy ) u just have to take care of the front sections like u can roll the front sections and then add it to the braid .
Hope it helps 😊
Your hair looks amazing in the beginning of the video too
I love this girls voice😌
Your sweater is so cute! Where did you get it from? Xo
This is way super better than ironing my hair
it looks so lovely!! its funny because i do this same style but in a different way! my hair comes out looking light night and day
I know a method to get curly hair naturally and it works for me perfectly.
Just would love to know how you make that work for you 😘♥️
@alketa just tagging you so hopefully you’ll see my reply! Thank you!
That's not "naturally" lol that's a twist-out XD
I'm actually in shock that they held up so well to real life. I did not see that coming. I guess some setting spray would make them workable for an every day style.
Drop that skin care routine now! 😍
I just love her accent!
Love your headings correcting yourself 😂❤️
I love it even more after the gym and the next day!!
Do you apply any sort of product or serum after washing it, but before braiding the robe in? Or are you doing it on plain clean hair?
I put a tiny bit of Aegean oil on or serum after I wash it on the ends because my hair is dry af x
I'm so glad this worked for you!
I feel like you would make a good Ginny Weasley 😭
yes! im so happy you tried it, i loved this method. You look stunning as always hun keep it up ❤️
Your hair looks great! What lipstick are you wearing?
WOAH IT LOOKS SO GOOD ❤️ and its so effortless to style!
Is it just me or it actually looks like a cute hairstyle😀
these robe curl look sick!
have you tried *sock* curls? they have the same principle but you get a larger coverage so the back may be slightly curlier
but what youve got going on now is great :)
She is GORGEOUS 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 redhead with green eyes are stunning I am jealous ahah ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aww haha thank you x
Wooowwww those curls are a success!!
This is some kinda hair magic!
My hairs the same way I find that letting it grow long and always sleeping with two braids or one is you have thin hair and then it’s wavy but not frezzey and I don’t brush it
The result is amazing
Hey Isabella, I’ve been following your hair journey since you uploaded the first video. I have heard of an ionic brush against static hair, if you still struggle with frizzy hair (like me) :D
Hey umm I heard of this thing called hair gloss. It decreases the ph of your hair and helps it shine and reverses damage. I think it's not a damaging process. Can you try it out if you haven't and give us a review?
Jessica Kurian Sounds like a leave in conditioner?
@@M_K_M_K_M_K it is mix of oils and a lot silicones inside
