2 years later and this video is still helping people. About to do this on my veloster this week!. Thank you!
Hi! So happy to hear its helping! How did yours go?
@xlr8auto1 still having my check engine light flash on me. Keep getting p1326, I know that's the code of death for these cars.
@@mattthemark7423knock sensors can be bad from the box, maybe a new one?
I did it! Turns out the flex head ratchet was too big to fit over the bolt with the socket so I just used a small ratchet with the 12mm socket which fulfilled its purpose. And to disconnect the other end of the old sensor i used a small flathead to lift over the lock tap for anyone who is curious about that. Thanks for helping me save money!
Great! Thank you!
I just did this on my son’s car and completed it in about 45 minutes.
The ratchet with the socket was a little too big. I used a 12mm ratcheting wrench to do the job.
Also, I used ramps to give me plenty of room under the car.
Thanks for this video, it definitely made this job easier to accomplish!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
What exactly does the car do when this sensor needs replaced?
Thx for the video. I was able to get mine out with a 1/4" drive ratchet and a 1/2" pipe nipple as a snipe. Worked great! 👍🏼
awesome! thanks for watching.
@@xlr8auto1 no thank you... your video saved me a lot of work and time.
Doing mine today, thank you so much!
I had a P0326 for knock sensor on 2012 Hyundai Veloster. Just changed the Knock sensor and check engine still on. Will drive to get it reset. Pretty easy to change took about 20 minutes.
Great to hear, Thanks for watching!
Killer brotha! Very mucho thank you. Saved about 2.5 hours of work
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video. 1/4 drive teardrop ratchet did the trick.
Awesome! Glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
Good video, thanks!!
Thank you so much for this video, just finished my 2012 Veloster base model in about 30 min. It did get rid of the permanent knock sensor code and it runs better. Again thanks for this video as it would have been tedious to do it the other way.
Thank you so much! so glad it helped! Thats what my channel is all about!
Thank you 🙏 you are a big help
So happy to hear! Thanks for watching!
Thank u sir great vid
Glad you liked it, Thanks for watching!
Weird.. I just got the knock sensor code and my veloster just hit 98500 miles and I see yours is about the same. I wonder if they coded something into the ecu to make it do this.
No telling with these manufactures, seems somehow they know exactly when to stop the warranty lol
Just got mine at 160k. Every other sensor has went out! Cams, crank, o2 top one. Now my knock just went out. Getting tired of the sensors. The knock sensor sucks more though because it throws it in to limp mode. Not good on the freeway.
Also did it make a nose when the sensor went bad ? Please let me know
No, there was no noise when mine went out.
Thank you!
Thank you for watching!!
Thanks for da vid….helpful
Thank you for watching
Is it the same for a 2013 ?
I honestly dont know, but I definitely believe so. Did you do the repair?
how long do these motors last, from what ive seen they only last 100,000 miles or less till they go bad
I’ve seen quite a few north of 150k
at 5:04, it looks like something is disconnected. did you have to disconnect something other than the cover to be able to reach the knock sensor?
no, nothing else was disconnected.
@@xlr8auto1 okay thank you
Amazing!!!!!!
Thanks!
Good video
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
What he isn't telling you is that the bolt is welded on after years and no room to get leverage.
Does not work for 2014 turbo model
Hey can you explain why?
I am very sorry to hear that, I personally havent done one on a turbo model. Is it because this is where the turbo is located blocking access?
What code was it? P1326?
Unfortunately I dont remember, I filmed this years ago.
1326 is the Knox sensor code
THANK YOU 🙏🏻
Thank you for watching!
@@xlr8auto1 thank YOU for posting it lol 🫡 just the info I was looking for. A girl at work bought one of these with all kinds of problems 🤦🏻♂️
