Creating Your Spiritual Environment | Brother Anandamoy

- Self-Realization Fellowship monk Brother Anandamoy (1922 - 2016), direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda and beloved minister of SRF, shares how we can learn to create a spiritual environment in our hearts and minds by always living constructively and creatively in the present moment-instead of constantly being pulled into the past or future.
In order for the present moment to be fulfilling and bring us our highest good, we need to take what we gain by practicing the techniques of meditation and then live our lives in a way where we can hold onto that awareness of the Divine within ourselves. “You are the master of the moments of your life,” Paramahansa Yogananda said. “Use them wisely, so that they will give you your salvation.”
This talk was recorded at the 1981 SRF Convocation held at the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles.

When I put Guruji's picture on the wall in my personal room, my husband, who briefly entered there, said: "Wow, there is a warm presence here now!" Every time I look at it, I feel surrounded by Master's love and feel his presence.
The story about the worker, Andrew, saying that Yoganandaji “told me everything I ever did in my life” - that’s exactly what the woman at the well said after talking with Jesus!
Came on and felt a bit sad there wasn’t a video. A few seconds later, SRF posted Bro Anandamoy’s talk! So grateful every week for these gems. I think about them and rewatch them a lot, imagining that master is present. As I’m out and about in the world, their words, exactly right for whatever situation I’m in, come back to comfort and guide me. Lord, please bless all involved in bringing your light to us 😊🙏

Important to keep the flame strong, unwavering and steadfast despite challenges, without flickering! The Guru is always busy in helping all disciples. Company of such discourses is the oil for that lamp! It’s also good to listen to other enlightened masters along same path as it helps to make the oil more viscous and long last. Page 332 Autobiography of a Yogi - Guru talks about Saint Kabir in a small foot note which is awe inspiring. Also read carefully 329 footnote on Sanatan Dharma of the land of “Aryavarta”!

Very inspiring to hear Brother Anandamoy! I especially liked the idea of creating the right atmosphere now, to give a chance to the past good tendencies to manifest. Far better than simply being a puppet of the environment around you, which most likely brings out the 'not so good' past tendencies! A very important lesson for me. Thank you Brother Anandamoy for your words. His talks are always very special. Am not the same after listening to any of the srf or yss talks and especially after talks by Brother Anandamoy. He gives lots of practical suggestions and make us note the important messages behind the messages of our gurus. This talk just came to me when I was wondering about law of attraction and spirituality. I was confused if I should give so much importance to the law of attraction by practicing the presence with my wants. And I open youtube and I choose this talk and Brother says the same practice the presence but the presence of God. Of course as he says what more could we want. Law of attraction is great. But God is the one who made those laws and he is the greatest. I was thinking how to increase my vibration or magnetism and I know how now.. Guruji always guides us and we all experience it daily. We are so lucky to have our gurus. Jai guru ❤️ 🙏 🙏 🙏
