Self-Realization Fellowship monk Brother Achalananda shares wisdom from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda on the relationship between energy and will power, how to use will to overcome habits and achieve our goals, and what it means to cultivate divine will on the spiritual path.

I had a Near Death Experience in 2016. I only went as far up as the ceiling, but it was indeed as Brother Achalananda and Guru says about death: I was living a very simple charitable, moralistic, non-judgmental eco-friendly artistic life (where as my surrounding peers, and even some spiritual mentors, were condescending thinking that simple was "stupid", that I was "lazy", and upon death, I was enveloped in such spiritual bliss/devotion/protection). Many of my life's philosophies were embedded from reading Autobiography of a Yogi a decade earlier. Life isn't about grabbing every open door. It's about praying for the guidance and will power to know which door to choose. Death is the ultimate determiner to know whether or not you correctly used your life's free time and free will. Always pray for Divine Will, there's no better life.

I am blessed to have met Brother. I am most blessed when he blessed my son when we attended a service at Lake Shrine when he was serving there at the time in 2016. Whenever he talks he lifts a certain burden from us.
